@@jamescash887 if she withheld the child from the father, she would have faced legal consequences and potentially lost her rights entirely. What could she have done here?
Yes, the judge failed. On an appeal there is no guarantee the child killer would win. Even the potential 40 years was not enough. Prison justice is due.
He should have never had custody of the child no matter what was going on with her.. He has a past that is horrifying.. and he should have in fact had a mark on his record and not have been able to be around children after getting together with her when she was underage
Life was not an option ...the jury did not come back with a verdict that would have allowed that...he gave the sentence that would be in the guidelines to stop an appeal

The judge said that if he were sentenced more than that then Chris would have been able to appeal the decision. Let's all pay attention!
I can’t believe the number of people who agreed with this comment. That judge did an excellent job throughout this whole trial. He was extremely fair and applied the law. If you’re going to be upset, be upset with the people making the laws not this judge who applied it.
I hope that many young women are listening...the BEST thing my daughter's father did was be the selfish person he was and walked away, meantime another man adopted her and loved her as his own....not every FATHER, deserves a pat on the back for being there...but kudos to the ones that are ❤
There are sperm donors and then there are Fathers.
My children's father did the same but with his Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde personality (his drinking was outrageous, frightening and dangerous) in the long run the children were better off without him.
@jeanettea12345 I am so very sorry...but you are very right, be glad in it you raised them...I truly feel many women don't have a clue how lucky they are...many blessings your way
You are so right. I felt so sad for my daughter and son that their dad isn't in their life but I realised a while ago that it is actually better than a possible alternative like this😭
When the mother said, when she was told Corey was dead, she said No, that can't be true, he was fine this morning. I was sure it was another child.
This is totally normal when loved ones die, its the shock and its sad, but completely normal.
I certainly hope she has a better life from now on
Nope, she joined LGBTQ and now hates all men permanently!
How ?
Denial is often a first response to sudden, shocking deaths.
Heartbreaking. And a failed judicial system not giving this monster the maximum sentence. This is exactly why people have no trust in our political and judicial systems.
Exactly. No trust.
Her distress is absolutely palpable. I'm glad she was able to get through this statement, after she kept it together so well through her testimony and cross examination. A very inspiring woman, and I hope she finds as much peace in life as possible.

Yes, the judge failed. On an appeal there is no guarantee the child killer would win. Even the potential 40 years was not enough. Prison justice is due.
If he even survives through the first night of prison.
He should have never had custody of the child no matter what was going on with her.. He has a past that is horrifying.. and he should have in fact had a mark on his record and not have been able to be around children after getting together with her when she was underage
Pretty sure Mommy and daddy fixed his problems and kept him from being prosecuted..

Breanna has been the best advocate for her son. She's a victim of this narcissist as well, and has not backed down in her quest for justice. I have followed her on FB for a few years and she has tons of support and we are all so proud of her for not giving up and facing this evil criminal.
That little boy tried to please his father & died for it. Tragic.
I just want to give this woman a hug 😢
Same
Why? She failed as a mother. Drugs were more important than her kid

Shame on this judge.
If you take the time and listen to the lengthy speech the judge made and why he pronounced the sentence he did, you would not say that.
Shame on your momma
My mother was similar to this monster. For some reason I got the brunt of her dissatisfied life. Even as an adult she needed to see and help me fail in every possible aspect of my life. At age 30 she started treating my children horribly as well so I broke off contact. It was been a total of 30 years of being away from that monster. Our lives are still impacted by her actions but not ONCE did I try and contact her this entire time. I was a little girl caught with a malignant monster as my "mother". May his cellmates make him feel as welcome as CG did to his own son every time he was near him. If you see something, SAY something !

Ms Breanna, it wasn’t your fault, but it is also not Corey’s Fault, for what happened in the past.
His whole behaviour was one of cruelty, to a defenceless child, to a woman who had raised and loved that child. To refuse to tell her where Corey was as this man knew he was dying. To try and blame her for her little boy's death. He cannot be rehabilitated.
