Great job! In my experience with many older cars, in addition to spark plugs, replacing vacuum hoses is another inexpensive and usually necessary preventative maintenance. Even a minor leak affects performance. Cheers
Fantastic video - I have a red 2006 Maserati Gransport. Have you thought about adding Larini decats and Tubi or Larini exhaust? The decats gets rid of the squashed piping below and adds more power and sound. Did you lower the car? Kindly, Stephen
The secondary cats on these cars are prone to failure. Also be sure to look at the heater core as this part fails as well...if it does the coolant can leak behind the dash frying your electronics. Do you plan to post more videos?
Nice - I, too, have a red '06 GranSport. How do you tell if the cats are bad? I think everything on my car is running pretty well, but I've not checked out the exhaust yet.
Hello ,i might buy 2003 with 73000 km Maserati 4200 390 ps ...i am just afraid of the maintenance if it is very expensive and if it is really reliable or not ? I would really appreciate if you or any of the owners will give me an advice and the problems that you faced in this car .Thank you
Peter, how has your ownership with the Maserati been? Is it hard to drive with gearbox and transmission etc. Have you had any main issues with transmission since owning? I am looking to get one myself :)
@@petervonpanda Wow that's kool to know. Seems like such a great car if the transmission behaves itself and we respect the way it functions. Any tips on how to preserve the transmission from a driving behaviour point of view? Thanks again :)
Mine is a bit lumpy at start up as well but it’s probably overdue for some new plugs as well. Have you found it to drive a bit better after the plugs were replaced?
Nah. Should not be the case. If the coils are fine (which is often a cause for this behavior) and now vacuum leaks (9 out of 10 causing these kind of issues) then it should run perfectly smooth. Cold or warm doesn't matter

Enjoying the Panda's Garage segments, keep it up!
Nice one mate ... basic straightforward advice with no frills ... ace !
Have you had any problems with ticking noises from the engine
Most car makers put covers over engines. At maserati they don't they put covers over everything else

I haven't done anything in mods particularly. I try to keep things as stock as possible.

I was scared of the transmission but it’s been solid and fun to drive once you get the hang of it.

That's very normal behavior, especially on a cold start.
Ron Cosby my 4200 runs rough at cold start for about 10 seconds or so if it sits for a few days and that’s even after the spark plug change
