    I have a 2006 GranSport 4.2 V8. It’s been missed with Larini decats, Tubi exhaust, Firmula Dynamics Drive by wire, ECU tune, lowering springs and beefier sway bars. This car is an animal…for how heavy it is. People fail to realize is that this is a GT and NOT a Sports car. These cars are built for high speed traveling…150 mph +…all day long….sure it’s finicky, but that is just the passion coming out. Porsches are a penny a dozen…it’s like driving a Mercedes/BMW/Audi…..NO PASSION. This gentlemen forgot to mention that this is a 3200 Twin Turbo V8…a classic car. A lot of reviews of these cars are done with poor examples of the marque…because maintenance is so HIGH…but it’s worth it. I always get looks and thumbs up and everyone wants to race me. 0-60 -> 4.4/4.7 top seed 180+ with a normally aspirated V8…no hair dryers attached….just 4.2 liters and 420ish horsepower with my modifications. This car also pulls like a scolded dog and NEVER runs out of breath. So yourself a favor….buy a Maserati, a good example….don’t be cheap, do the maintenance and my GOD lose the boring Porsche/Mercedes/BMW/Audi blahness…..do something different for once. You WON’T regret it.

    Well spoken, great rhetoric, fantastic review. And a fine example of a 4200 that you have. 3 years later and they are already going up in price.

    I've owned a 4200 Coupe for three years now and bought for $17,000 and it is amazing. A Ferrari engine, Ferrari transmission, made at the Ferrari factory in 2004. Just as reliable as a 1967 Chevy Impala. All I've done to the car is oil changes, air filter and drive it!!!!! It is basically a Ferrari in Maserati clothing. Mine now has 69K miles.

    Am I losing my mind for actually considering buying one of these cars, in the UK, in 2020? How ruinous are the running costs going to be for a well looked after later example? (I'm looking at a 2005 model with a manual transmission - rejoice!)

      If you can put £300 a month aside for maintenance you’ll be fine. I bought a manual 2004 and am glad I waited for a one owner full service history model. Amazing car and always a joy to drive

      @@schallis11 seriously £300 a month just for maintenance?

    • @schallis11

      I put aside £300 a month and that is more than enough for an annual specialist service (typically between 2-3 grand). What I pay in servicing is not much more than I lost in depreciation over 5 years on my last car; except now I get to drive a wonderful Maserati

    I own a 2002 Spyder cambiocorsa convertible in Ferrari Red color. Aside of the high costs of maintenance and the fact that parts are difficult to source for this aged car it is truly a delight to drive . I think I have spent more money on this car than the cost of the car itself. I feel like a mob guy getting into his car and turning the ignition on 50/50 something is going to go wrong . Now all that said my Spyder turns more heads than a Lambo .

    I have a 4200 Coupe I've owned two and a half years now, reliable as a 66 Chevy, what a magical awesome car!! Beautiful engine, incredible sound, 400HP 4-cam 32-valve V8, A true work of art as well.

      Actually he doesn't know a lot about cars period. Can't watch him anymore as he is ignorant on so many things that its actually annoying. Gushes over things that any real car person would know about and is hopeless on older non american cars. I don't think he realises his audience isnt just made up of Americans, but people from all over the world. Really do not get why he gets so many views.

    Hi Again,
    Thinking on GS le , red 55k miles(2007).
    What's your opinion against the 4200Gt?
    The GS seems to have been well looked after, same owner last 9 years, spent fair bit to keep it worthy for driving on road.
    Keep up good presentations.
    Cheers W

    nice car if you can keep it mantanied . It's not a Ferrari engine its de tuned.. cost a fortune for parts shocks 2000 each service 2000 timechain rebuild very common 10,000. Better off getting a late model Camero SS

    The 3200 is not an inferior car at all. With a manual box it's great fun. The Achilles heal of the 4200 is that flappy pedal gearbox.

      Hi, I have owned the Maserati shamal and was going to get the 3.200 when it came out, it looked wonderful, but I found out it was more or less like driving the shamal, which was not nice. Having owned many different Ferrari cars , I wanted more style with my drive and when I drove the 4200 , it was everything I was looking for, the flappy paddle was the same on our 575 Ferrari, so no problems, you very important to learn how to use it, it's not a toy. If you love Maserati, get this car before people see that Clarkson and de murro made the mistake of not understanding how to drive it.

      O no? did you ever had to replace bearings inside the engine of a 3200? The 3200 engine is having big issues with them. And you cannot find them anymore. Unless you like to wait 6 to 12 months and be lucky to find them somewhere

    • @gooseturbo6087
      @gooseturbo6087 3 роки тому

      @@holoduke51a I'm well aware of the thrust bearing problem on the 3200. Most cars have had the issue sorted out early in their lives.

    • @holoduke51a
      @holoduke51a 3 роки тому +1

      @@marcodalli5045 interesting tot know which replacement bearings you use. As far as I understand the bearing problem is caused by bad designed oil canals causing dry conditions on some of the bearings. Is that resolved as well?
