"I'd like you in a little bit further" Ha THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!!!
Virgin
That's my car😁i'm loving it😘
Superb... proper driveway mechanics with stones and everything. I love this and well done Kev!
One thing I've learnt from years of working on cars, nothing about working on suspension is ever easy.
Good work Buddy enjoying the Car challenges,
For the price of 4 new shocks i would of done them,
new springs always i find blow out old shocks and you have to do the work all over again down the line.
love this series
Great vid Kev. It's bloody annoying when you buy a special tool for a specific job and it doesn't fit. As you say it's not best to use the old mole grips but needs must. Quite impressed at how easy the rears were to do though. Car looks pretty decent now, well done.
Great work Kev and can’t wait to see the next one. Thanks for sharing this with us. Take care
Looking good Kev, I followed your lead and now have a Peugeot 308 from your Rugby depot to tinker with, listed as turbo fault but it's only the feed pipe that's gone, got the car for a steal and delivery was cheap as well
Coming along nicely that ST someone be happy to give it a good home , nice job Kev 👍
Absolutley brilliant again this Kev my good man
Looking GREAT
Good to see you working back on the s t again it’s a lovely car and I am really enjoying watching you restore this s t
Looking good mate. 👍👍👍
Love how it's coming on kevtee awesome
Love how it looks Kev! I’m going to lower mine soon!
Keep up these scrap car challenges...they are great!
"Where's me hammer?" Proper mechanic talk eh Kev!? Love it.
I'm no mechanic. Never used one on the car, but have on the lawnmower.
Technical adjustment tool
Or the classic 'where's the FBH??'
Well done Kev good job
Good job done kev, keep up the good work mate
good to see you using Plusgas and not wd40, nice car as well, looking forward to seeing finished !
just one thing Kev those rear lower shock bushes should not be tightened until the suspension is compressed to it's normal road going position. Otherwise the rubber bushes are always under tension which shortens their life. All you have to do is, with the car on the ground, undo the lower bolts a few turns or so bounce the vehicle on the suspension then tighten again. That should release any bush tension.
the coil compression tools are the scariest tool I have ever used. Looks great Kev, great job
Nice video, great series - she look just right that bit lower. Shiny metal + mole grips = shield with a bit of old chamois leather - Good Luck!
cool work thanks kev keep safe
Great video kev glad the springs did not cause you any problems when you changed them fingers crossed for the mot looking forward to the next video
Great Video again Kev 🙌🏼
Car refurbishing asmr! love it 😂
you need a swan neck spanner for the front top mounts
My thoughts exactly. Never use mulgrips on the strut
ah man this brings back memories of messing with my old one.
Absolutely love that st keV 👌👌👌
love the music!!!!!!!!!!
I'm watching this with "Memories" by Elaine Page running through my head as in my younger days I spent countless hours grovelling round under cars, doing battle with rusted up nuts, skinning knuckles and banging my head on places it should never have been. Seriously though, that all went pretty smoothly so off for the MoT it is. Looking forward to the driving impressions and the next set of upgrades
Nice one well done Kevtee
wow, the state of that second shocker spring was shocking! poor car been driven around with the spring that has collapsed like that surprised there was no more damage. great video as always mate, very informative of how to do such a job! thx
Snapped spring is really common fault for Fiesta
super job kev
Great job so far kev! Fingers crossed for the dreaded MOT. Lol. 🤞🤞
Great video kev
Looking good there bud 👍🏻
Nice work mate
Good stuff.
Great video Kev, keep up the great content. but I have never removed springs from the rear of a car, that does look easy, but when doing car maintenance in College then we stripped the engine out, but we were taught to compress the springs for the front before releasing the shocks, not sure how much difference it would make though, maybe give a little more room to remove the shocks due to not being forced open by the springs. great video Kev, keep up the great content.
Great video Kev, would have been great to see the comparison between new and old springs, car looks great
Looking great Kev, I presume you plan on keeping it as a weekend or summer car to have fun in. Could be worth something in time. As I said before if you come across a MK1 Saxo VTR or VTS snap it up as they are going up in value.
Good Saturday morning to you sir from wellington Somerset
Great wee car
Hi ken another brilliant video as always and hope you are staying safe and well and having a good weekend
Job well done she's getting there. Only thing I would have done different is to take a rattle can and made it look nice in there for the next owner but at least u got the job done. Looking forward to the next episode
A hooray for the electric gun 😅😅😅😅
Nice work, now you can be mechanics sooon
Hi Kev, tbh mate I would have changed the shocks at the same time as the springs. It's a bit like changing your clutch and not doing the crank case oil seal! Other than that mate.. top vid!
Great video kev new to your channel great content on the transporter and on the project car
Thanks and welcome mate 👍
The range of the average spring retaining cap is two greenhouses (at least) ;-)
You're a very brave man, using those spring compressors, and axel stands on a gravel driveway! But I don't want to be "that guy" so I'll shut up 😁
But wow, that front spring was so bad! Goes to show how dangerous it can be when they snap, that could have easily pierced the tyre and that car would have been scrapped for more reasons than a no start! 😂
Fiesta is looking good now Kev 😎
Very good video.. I want a Trent jacket!! :-)
A deep ring spanner and an Allen key makes easy work of that top strut nut Kev.
Yeah them front springs I am told can be quite the job to remove but you seemed to do it , fairly easily? Cheers Kev.
U should keep this one up and coming classic
Great to see you've diversified out from just being a truck vlogger kev.
Our son has a Fiesta Red Edition which has an ST Body Kit on. It's just come up 5 years old, so only had 2 MOT's. Both MOT's, two springs has been completely snapped. That is exactly what happened to his spring
Don’t forget the alignment as lowering alters the settings.
nice job kev mate sits nice i wish i kept my fiesta st only had 87k on it...gld you saved the fiesta st 👍
Indeed and including funny story. Previous owner can't figured out why it not starting. Kev managed fix by just reseted fuel kill switch
Good stuff not that really matters id 'off cleaned the struts up a bit if going with new springs.great progress,an progress is progress, and to think it was about to die all for that cut off..👍there not that cheap ither. Good its saved great vids
Best bet is to relieve the torque of the top nut and the set final torque, without other options is with the wheels on ground, saves damage to the chrome coating of the struts with mole grips or other aggressive tooling 😉
I don't see how undoing the bolt with strut fixed to the car is going to prevent the piston from spinning?
@@norm4260 more load on the strut assembly normally seems to work, also mentioned in the manuals that I have seen is to relieve initial torque with the full weight on wheels
just discovered you channel....NICE VIDEOS
Thank you and welcome 👍
"Cheekeeleee low" :-)
How are you getting on the new truck and looking forward to watching your weekly salvage video coming out on Sunday
keep safe kev
Changing the rear springs were so much easier for you then
It’s because the top mount nut is 18mm
good job Kev cars looking good mate brill blog mate but when you going to finish the Volvo truck blog off Gary from Crewe
SUPERCHARGE IT!!
Yes Plus gas the best penetration fluid
Decent motor
Oh no not the dreaded mole grips. They are just not right for that job because they will slip and damage the chromed stem.
Get the proper tool, a 10" Stilson. Will hold any round bar, tube, stud etc.
Should go straight through the re-test now.Well done.
11:29 - that's what she said
Very interested in the car❤️
First time I've heard of a car failing MOT on springs, oh but there you have it. Guessing a steel fab week point. I've done shocks a few times, never the springs.
It happens all the time 👍
I just relised that car was first registered in bristol reg starting with WN
AutoDoc are great for parts. 👍
Abysmal delivery though sometimes 😬
Are you going to replace the shocks as well then
Could not have been better timed there sir
17.01 i thought you were trying beatboxing...
After them u finish with the car are u going to sale it or keep it
Just need to get rid of those wheels now.
Let’s hope it passes it’s re test and passes without then advisors
you actually made it onto a mechanic bodge job page on fb so i had to watch and can see why.
Uncanny that Carl wood because a shit for brains wanker troll page directed me to you! 💩
😂😂😂
You sound a bit upset. Has mummy finally stopped abusing you and you finally realised its not normal
You’re mummy didn’t abuse me it was consensual 💪
Your probably right there my mum sleeps with anything with a pulse 4 legs or 2 so that don't make u special mind u ain't caught anything
How much is a shock to change it at the same time once you’ve gone to all that effort?
What is the make of your impact wrench Kev?
It's from a company on Amazon called NoCry, came highly recommended 👍
www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07HDVN3G7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_SYFA2BP1JVZDYPCACCWM
I like these cars... but im afraid the new springs are a no from me
DK Tuning
Get her on dyno then a remap
Bit far to go for me but a remap is a good shout 👍
How the hell did that spring not dig itself into the tyre and pop it it could’ve caused a huge accident the noise it must’ve made must have been horrendous
What impact gun are you using Kev?
It's by a brand called 'Nocry', I'd never heard of them but can't fault it so far nocry.co.uk/product/cordless-impact-wrench/
Thanks mate. Appreciated.
How much did you pay for the Fiesta, l couldn't see l liked to know how much your project Fiesta is costing you,👍
I do a price breakdown in the final project video 👍
Hey Kev, at 6:00 in you struggle to get the top of the strut off using your impact gun, check this vid from Dasi's Garage ua-cam.com/video/DvO5xOl5Hu4/v-deo.html at 2:10 , Cheers, Garry from Downunder
Easy when you know how mate 😂
@@KevTee May be an idea just to check your nuts for tightness :)
