Alright, here's how I'd rank them from good to evil:
- *Peach* (Her entire role hinges on her being pure of heart, so obviously she's totally good)
- *Mario* (Aside from some optional mean-spirited jokes you can have him make there's nothing bad to say about him)
- *Goombella* (Sassy, but also heroic and righteous)
- *Koops* (Aside from being a wimp he's a really nice dude, and he does grow to be braver)
- *Bobbery* (Gruff from a long and bittersweet life, but a good guy all-around)
- *Punio* (A little wimpy, but he clearly does try his best)
- *Professor Frankly* (A good guide to help the heroes, but scatterbrained and not always that helpful)
- *Flurrie* (Heroic like all the other partners, even if she mainly joins Mario out of boredom)
- *Yoshi* (A bit too trigger-happy, but clearly a good kid)
- *Vivian* (Even if she was pressured into it, she still went along with Beldam's plans for a while)
- *Ms. Mowz* (I mean, she's a thief, so obviously slightly less heroic than the other partners)
- *TEC* (While he seems more concerned with Peach than the world itself, he is still willing to die to save her)
- *Luigi* (He does cause a lot of harm on his quest, but ultimately he is trying to save the world)
- *Whacka* (He's only a boss if Mario attacks him first, so it's really just fair game at that point)
- *Prince Mush* (Seems like a good guy, though he doesn't use his strength for anyone's benefit but his own)
- *Pennington* (Not particularly competent, and quick to accuse others, but otherwise he's a nice guy)
- *Jolene* (She's kinda cold even after you save her brother, but otherwise a good person)
- *Flavio* (A braggart and a coward, but he does ultimately step up when needed)
- *Rawk Hawk* (He's an obnoxious jerk, but ultimately harmless)
- *Cortez* (He sinks ships that get close to his island, but is pretty friendly otherwise and clearly becomes nicer after you beat him)
- *Kammy Koopa* (She encourages all of Bowser's worst behavior at every turn, but is pretty affable otherwise)
- *Bowser* (He's basically Rawk Hawk on a bigger scale, he's ultimately more of a jerk than outright evil)
- *Crump* (A brutish thug without any real redeeming qualities, but he's mostly just brainless muscle that helps his boss)
- *Marilyn* (She mostly just goes along with whatever Beldam does, not that this really excuses all the crap she does)
- *Doopliss* (He's a mean-spirited prankster and willingly joins the Shadow Queen, but apparently turns over a new leaf in the epilogue)
- *Beldam* (A nasty and horrible woman, but like Doopliss she seems to turn good after the Shadow Queen is defeated)
- *Grubba* (Very strongly hinted to have actually _murdered_ Prince Mush, and generally just a narcissistic douche)
- *Hooktail* (A dragon that served the Shadow Queen and regularly eats people, she's obviously not very nice)
- *Grodus* (One of the nastiest villains in any Mario game, this guy is just pure evil)
- *The Shadow Queen* (She's the closest thing the Mario-verse has to Satan)
