      Lenin, Thanks for watching and your kind words. I am almost deaf now, so it is getting harder and harder for me to get the sound volumes mixed correctly in my videos. I just saw in the last day or two that the Honda Powersports USA web site is showing the 2023 Navi in the same 4 colors as the 2022. That was the first time I had seen an official reference to the 2023. I was starting to worry that 2022 might be the only year for the Navi here, but now I see we have at least another year.

      @@leninontaneda4360 Lenin, I think that living in Equador, you may be able to get accessories that we can't get in the USA, and you might have trouble getting the accessories we have in the USA, such as the windshield and the rear rack. I have been unable to get a Sari step, nor the crashbars that may be available in Mexico and Peru. I still think a Sari Step could be modified to hold a side fuel tank, saving the cost of buying the Motion J mount from Thailand. If you haven't found the Navi thread on advrider, it would be great if you join the forum and post a photo or two of your Navi.

      Gus, thanks for watching and your comment. I decided to leave the Motion J rack on the Navi, so I had to order a second one for the Monkey. The second rack arrived yesterday from Beezdeals, and I'll install it on the Monkey tomorrow morning. No need to make a video on that install, as it would just be a repeat of my earlier one.. I am about out of ideas for more videos, until I can get a 2023 Trail 125 or a 2023 Monkey 125. Honda Powersports USA has been silent on the 2023 models.

      I was a Coke drinker since the age of about four, when every Saturday morning, my Dad would take me out for "Men's Breakfast" at the lunch counter at the local pharmacy. Dad would have a coffee and a whole wheat toast, and I would have a Cherry Coke, and a whole wheat toast. Coffee, Cherry Coke, and whole wheat toast, were each five cents, and we'd leave a nickel tip, so our bill each week was a quarter. Afterwards, we would go to either the lumber yard, the hardware store, or the auto parts store to pick up supplies for our project for the day. Then we'd go home and either fix something on the house or the car. We did that every Saturday until I was about 16.
      When Tab came out, i was an early adopter, and then later switched to Diet Coke, when Tab was mostly discontinued. When Coke went woke a couple of years ago, I switched to diet Pepsi, and also gave up watching MLB. I had a 70 year loyalty to Coke and they betrayed me. It wasn't that hard to make the change to Pepsi, and it only took a couple of weeks to learn which restaurants in town served which. Unfortunately, my favorite Thai restaurant in town serves the wrong brand, so I make do with a Singha Beer, when I'd prefer to drink a Diet Pepsi when I go there to get Lime Leaf Chicken, Thai Hot. Ironically though, when a case of Pepsi topped $10 a couple of months ago, I switched again. Now I'm drinking Diet Sam's (Walmart's house brand) or Diet Chek (Winn Dixie's house brand). In a restaurant, it's either Diet Pepsi, or Singha beer. If they don't serve either, there is no reason to even look at a menu.

I can't fix it in the video without remaking it though. As to Mexico, I see Sari Steps on Navis in many videos from Mexico, so I can see they are common there. Unfortunately, no one from Mexico will answer my emails or a comment on their video when I ask where I can buy one. Apparently, the Honda dealers in Mexico can't ship parts to the USA, or else they have no interest in doing so. If you have a friend in Mexico who will ship parts and has a Sari Step, please send them the link to my video, much appreciated.

    This lunch you had was very special and I felt it too.
    Lunch and feed the birds. I think this is cool😎
    What is the name of the bird, Sir?
    Before closing this exciting trip, you took the time to go fishing. May I know, what fish are in the lake? May I accompany you fishing?😄

      Mancing Tanago, Thanks for your encouragement, much appreciated. I like all the music by Roa. The birds are White Ibis, see: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_white_ibis
      The fish in the lake are mainly Largemouth Bass and Bluegills. I never see any microfish there. I think the Bass eat most of them. I still haven't been able to catch any microfish other than the Mosquitofish which seem to be in every ditch that has water all year long.

      @Vintage_Garage  Рік тому +1

      Samurai Rider. Thanks for your comment, much appreciated. I wish they sold Navi in Thailand too. If they did, we would have a lot of high-quality accessories for Navi from Gcraft, Kitaco, and H2C and other Thai and Japanese manufacturers. As it is, there is practically nothing. There are some Navi accessories at the Honda dealers in Mexico, but no way to buy them, as they don't answer inquiries. Navis started in India, but sales ended there in about 2018. Some say because of low demand, but I think it may have been because the Navi couldn't pass the new emission standards in India:
      www.transportpolicy.net/standard/india-motorcycles-emissions/
      In any event, Navi was based on the Honda Activa, which is still sold in India, but with fuel injection. The fuel injected BSVI compliant Activa was introduced in India in 2019, about the time that the carbureted Navi assembly moved to Mexico.
      shifting-gears.com/driving-test-for-licence-applicants-compulsory-on-manual-transmission-cars/
      Fuel mileage for the Honda Navi is about 85 MPG or 35 KPL which is very bad compared to that of the fuel injected Honda Monkey. However, there is something about the Navi that makes it special. All of the 20 small Hondas I have to drive are fun, but the Navi "follows your lean" better than all of them. You can almost ride it around turns with no hands on the handlebars. The only way to experience the feel is to ride one. Every day, I ride one of my scooters in the morning, and then in the evening, I ride one of the CT125s, one of the Super Cubs, the Monkey, or the Navi, riding the one that has been sitting for the longest since its last ride. If I didn't rotate equally between all six, I would be riding the Navi the most.
      We haven't heard if there will be a 2023 Navi, and if we will be getting the 2023 Super Cub, Monkey, or CT125 either. I see that Cub House in Thailand has made a video about the 2023 CT125. Here is what I see for the CT125 in the Cub House video:
      1. Brown color is gone, replacement color is light grey, so the colors are Red, Green, and Grey
      2. The rear racks for all three colors are black.
      3. The muffler heat shield and pegs for the rear passenger go away, at least in the default model in Japan. Thailand never had the rear pegs nor the heat shield.
      4. The rear shocks are now adjustable.
      5. There is a crossbar in the down tubes for the skid plate.
      6. The old 125 engine is replaced by a new 125 longer stroke engine, I think like the 2022 Super Cub 125, but keeping the kickstarter for the CT125.
      Hopefully Honda Powersports USA will announce soon. I will probably buy another CT125 if I can get a green or grey.
      I see you have another video out today. I will watch it next.. much appreciated.

    • @Vintage_Garage
      @Vintage_Garage  Рік тому

      David, Thanks for watching and your comment, much appreciated. The brackets were made out of plain mild steel stock that I got at Ace hardware.. one inch wide and one-eighth inch thick. I don't have any templates, but suggest you did like I did and mock it up with cardboard first. The rack mounts on the Monkey simply on the upper shock mount and the left rear reflector, with no additional bracket needed. To me, the rear reflector bracket on the Navi looks less strong than the one on the Monkey, so I added the second bracket to tie it all to the sari step mount. I am not sure that second bracket is needed as I didn't try riding with a full side can without it.

    • @Vintage_Garage
      @Vintage_Garage  Рік тому +1

      Richard, Thanks for watching. I still think the best way to mount a 3L fuel can on the CT125 is to use the Gcraft side rack. Throw away the m5 "U-bolts" that come with the 3l fuel can and replace them with four m5 socket screws with washers and nuts. Then drill out the 6mm holes in the black plastic can mount to 7mm, and you will get enough slop to mount the can without modifying the Gcraft rack.

    Hi there, Loving the videos so far and can't wait for more of these.
    Could you please walk me through your initial idea of modifying the saree step to fit the jerry can, i have one on mine but can't seem to incorporate it with the air filter box obstructing it from the side and the tail indicator from above.
    I really don't feel like buying a saddle stay for this purpose as they only come in a pair here and i feel like it's an unnecessary expense.
    Looking forward to hearing from you, best wishes and stay blessed as always.

      Mohzin Khan, Thanks for watching the video and your comment. I have never seen a Sari Step, only pictures of it. From the picture at 1:01 in the video, it looks like the vertical support tubes for the step run to the rear of the air filter box, and then the curved tubes that support the hinge for the step wrap around the air cleaner, and when the step is down, it is outside of the air filter box. I was thinking that a flat circular steel plate, like the one on the Motion J Monkey rack could be welded to the curved tubes so that it was all outboard of the air filter box. If the indicator light is in the way, perhaps it could be raised as I did in this video. But the bottom line is, until I actually have a Sari Step in my hand, I am not sure how to engineer a rack for the 3L fuel can. Since you have a Sari Step, I assume that you live in Central America, South America, or the Middle East. If that is true, I would appreciate it if you would send me a link to your local Honda dealer if they would be willing to ship one to me in the USA.

    • @Zangetsu22550
      @Zangetsu22550 Рік тому

      Thank you so much for responding back.... I was thinking whether i should weld an extension from the vertical support tubes and then attach a circular plate to it, but your idea feels more good.
      As for the part from where i am from, i kinda am from India, maybe the only one here who's in love with this bike here cuz it wasn't a great hit here and by the time i saved up they were out of production, luckily i found a secondhand and have been working on it since.
      If you're serious about getting the saree step for yourself i could try and hunt it down for you, but no promises as most Honda dealers don't even know Honda sold these bikes and yet alone someones crazy enough to own one after.... but i love the bike, i really do 😅
      I'll type in the link to my socials, do send me a friend request, I'll ask around and if i can find it, I'll hit you up.

      @@Zangetsu22550 Here in the USA, we still don't quite understand why Navi sales stopped in India. Some articles say because of lack of interest, but others say because of the new pollution standards in India around 2018. I do see that the Activa is still sold in India, but it is now fuel injected, so perhaps it could be some of both thoughts. There is still a lot of interest for Navi in the USA. Many riders here want them but can't find them. They sell out pretty quickly at the dealerships here. All the Navis are still made in India but are assembled in Mexico part by part. Since they ae assembled in Mexico, the finished Navis can be shipped to the USA by truck instead of by sea container. Does India have a sales site like eBay where customers can buy new and used parts, pay with PayPal, and have them shipped to the customer? I would be willing to buy a complete used Sari Step, if I can't find a new one. None of the Honda dealers seem interested, but I do see Sari Steps on a few Navis in Mexico. Now I just need to find out how to by one.. LOL

    • @Zangetsu22550
      @Zangetsu22550 Рік тому

      @@Vintage_Garage It had more to do with general lack of interest hence the sales went down and with the new pollution standards that was the nail in the coffin for it for the navi. It was also advertised as a college student bike but the major population here owned scooters with the intention of being an all purpose vehicle and yes that includes carrying unreasonably huge luggage.
      Ebay here is no more available and the after market game here for the navi is absolute zero, but in your scenario i feel getting the part from Mexico would be the best option, i have seen soo many great dedicated navi pages from mexico on facebook with really good sellers and parts, I'm sure you'll find what you need there.
      Alrighty then this was real fun, take care now and thank you for your time.
