- Woke up one day and felt like making this, three months later this came out. Had a blast making this, let me know what you think in the comments!
My goal for this project was learning unreal engine (and some blender) and sharing my passion for warcraft with the world. I've never touched any 3d software before so I hope you like it. I wanted to show some off some of the cool modern features from unreal engine and see what it would look like combined with an older game. Enjoy!

It is sad and true, that no matter what game I buy and try to play on PS5, nothing gives back the feel of good old Classic World of Warcraft. Especially these starting zones. The amount of nostalgia hit my dopamine like nothing else. I feel young again watching this. Amazing work man.

This is exactly what we saw in our minds when we played WoW for the first times as teens!
I know WoW isn't about the graphics, but I wish you could scale them up to this level. I'd probably resubscribe

This looks worse than in the actual game
using fov and making meshes smaller wont make up to a better game - When i played the game the first 2 years at some point i thought they shrunk the world to improve the visuals eg now the same texture are 2x better when only a shrunk has occured - but flighpath were shorter running a whole continent took less time -I would like westfall and all zones expanded to continent sizes with approx where places should be but with new content inbetween
haha agreed. now its like looking at some atari game.... it hurts my eyes!! !hahhahha naw but its still a great game just too old school for my taste.
So nostalgic...
I fear we never will again get to experience what we did when WoW first released.
That first decade will forever live on in my memories.

Season of discovery is pretty close
Very well done. I miss Warcraft, not for the raiding and the stress of min-maxing, but for the simple pleasure and contentment I got from leveling and questing in areas such as Westfall. Thanks for taking me back there.

Agreed. The best aspect of the game for me was always just exploring and listening to the music.
yeah I always liked leveling more than end game. It was kind of boring grind same dungeons again and again and again lol
Westfall music always hits me in the feels.
Sounds very much like The Barrens music, but a bit different. I don't know maybe it's just that I haven't played in so long.
I mean sounds very similar, well it did at first. It's just missing the "Huh!" and stuff instead of the uhmm more instrumental bit there. Also reminds me of Booty Bay or something. Also for a while there it remindedme of Ashenvale or something.
Am I simply crazy or is there bits that is very similar to other zone's music?
That's Elwyn Forest music, not Westfall, but it's gem nonetheless

The level of detail from the original source is amazing. You even got the exact number of Murlocs correctly

Thats only like a 3rd of the Murlocs that i remember from my nightmares.....
I haven't played WoW for 15 years, but seeing this i got such a massive punch in the feels that i had to thank you for making it. It kinda feels like reliving those first days when i started out as a green paladin and went on quests to quell those malfunctioning harvesters; thank you ❤

@@aumtehotepIt's hard, because WoW sadly is a complete different game with none of the old employees left... like an empty hull...
I played from 2005-2010, came back 2018 and it was meh, then again 2020 and it totally sucked tbh. The only things you can do as an old time gamer is walking around the old zones and enjoying the music.
The game now is full of mainstream people and the new blizzard has stated dozens of times how they hate their playerbase.
@@shirohige291 What made WoW so amazing back in the day is simply that there wasn't much like it so it felt absolutely amazing. Nowadays, as soon as someone comes with a novel concept or idea, next month there are 20 freemium copies of that concept or idea. There is no real looking forward to playing, not in the sense people experienced with WoW and GW.
It's beautiful, I shed a tear, totally serious, seeing so much life in Azeroth is very, very much for my heart because I have played this game since I was a child and I will never stop loving this video. I feel at home.

@@KackfeeLPof course, it was like second day of playing, I was questing in EF as a lowbie and suddenly spotted a wolf on the other side of the river. Went for the scalp and died within a second :) That was the moment when I,ve discovered Duskwood :)
Anyways, Westfall would be my favourite ever area in Eastern Kingdoms :)

i love it! all of the UE5 innovations displayed in one video! In THE GAME we've all been wanting them in; Nanite, Nanite landscape, nanite foliage, Niagara etc, and still holds the "essence" of warcraft. This video should be pushed to the top of the watchlist and fast.

I know that many people are tired of companies recycling a game cause its lazy, fast, etc. But this is an EXCEPTION lol. I think it is time for WoW to upgrade the game or make a WoW 2, it being a fresh new story etc. That or me just to stop having hopes and move on lmao. Awesome job! This is beautiful, alongside the nostalgic music we heard roaming Azeroth! Cheers! :)

This is the best UE5 reimagination I've seen so far. All of the others I've seen have tried to push the realism too far and they completely lose the character that makes WoW so special. Your blending of the potential of the Unreal Engine and the preexisting game assets really shows what is possible while still preserving what makes WoW, Wow.

4:27 for some reason this shot really encapsulates how I felt playing WoW for the first time back in '05 and is very nostalgic for that sense of mystery, wondering what lies beyond that bridge into Duskwood and the dangers lurking there, it's also where I saw my first Horde characters and realized once I left Westfall I was no longer safe anymore, Great work hope you decide to do more zones!

If It's your first time with Unreal, It's an amazing work^^. If I had to give some advices : It feels probably too artificial, too clean. Defaults (variations of colors, little places with no road or no vegetation, roads that aren't perfectly straight...) are things that make the world feels real, and PnJ and mobs are what makes it feel alive as long as they don't act like robots too much. Roads in westfall are dirt roads, not paved roads^^. Really good work nonetheless.

That music. I remember being part of the WoW beta and then launch. The only thing I tried in the beta was Night Elf and had a blast. Though this music hits the feels when I recall my times playing Human in the retail game and reaching this area. I'd like to relive those moments. I never played WoW beyond vanilla.

This looks amazing, i personally am wanting/trying to recreate Eversong Woods, hopefully it'll look this polished if i ever finish it, i especially loved how you changed moonglade from a ghost town into a thriving town as i want to do the same, to sort of add a personal touch, again great work, and good luck in future endeavors!

I'd love to see that. I started first day vanilla with WoW, but when TBC came out, I rerolled all but two of my characters and made a ton of Blood Elves, after making a single rogue, running through Eversong Woods and Ghostlands, and falling in love with the music, ambiance, and storyline there.
Love the video, great job. The more realistic you make it the faker it gets. Warcraft has a specific level of detail which is consistent with its art style. Which was also constrained by the kind of PC available at the time. I agree the game could use a graphics overhaul but not at the expense of its artistic style.

This was amazing and super nostalgic. Even after 18 years of playing WoW this still brings back vibez. My favorite starting zone that always travel to just to bring me back is Teldrasil.

Between 0:27 - 0:37 sets the video up to be kind of creepy. The camera is following the hero walking toward the people, then switches to their angle and they can't see him.
Also this is gorgeous, what I really wish a new, good Fable-ish game would look like, and I don't see why people disliked it.

Love this version of Moonbrook! Using the Westfall theme instead of the Elwynn theme would have been more fitting tho.
I am a Westfall girl through and through., it's been my favourite place to lvl since I started playing in TBC, just the feel of the place its so bright and hazy and warm, comforting almost and ofc its got an amazing story line running through it and beautiful details that I appreciate. I lvl through there as slowly as possible to soak it all up again and I never tire of it. This video has taken my breath away, made me see it in a different even more detailed light, Moonbrook stunned me ! and the night time scenes were superb, this zone has feels like no other for me and I thank you for adding even more details for me

If it wasn’t for the music, I wouldn’t even understand that this is Westfall and I wouldn’t want to return to such Warcraft again and again. I apologize for the google translator.

Only one word sums this up - Feels. My first week in wow is etched into my brain. The music will never leave my ears. I miss wow and even years of not playing there has been no game that has come close to what wow filled my memory with. Great work with UE, i couldn't really get comfortable using it when i tried, im at home in unity. Thanks for stiring my memories :)
