- We recently returned to WoW and introduced Trip to the game. He level boosted, made a dracthyr, then we decided to do the holiday dungeon after some questing. Unbelievable luck.

I got mine this year, and on the same box I got not just the mount but the seat customisation for my dragon

even the fact that his friends called him getting it 1st try is making this clip even better... I am farming this for 4 years now on 14 chars and here this bud gets it on his 1st run..
The same happened to me with the Halloween mount in 2011 when I started playing. I thought that it was something that was given to everyone on their first run. When I saw my guildmates freaking out seeing me with it I realized the stupid luck I had.
I’ve tried countless attempts for that event mount that most compared to other events. Still attempting! It’s an awesome mount 😊
It took me something like 800+ attempts over the last 14 years before I finally got it this year. Congratulations lol.

Nothing new. Blizzard is rewarding new and returning players with rare loot in order to make them stay. A friend of mine who had to create a new account because he couldn't access his old one, got the Antorus mythic mount, Invincible and the infinite timewaster on his first tries.
I for my part didn't play the game for 2 years and had over 60 kills for the second part of the windseeker binding (molten core), got it first try when I came back and it actually made me play retail again.
They know what they are doing and scenarios like this one isn't rare, on the contrary... New players will get rare shit easily until it's not easy anymore ^^

Duuude i did just the same like 5 days ago except i'm not a new player but i pretty much ignored all the small event dungeons since WoD.. Went into this one for the first time ever and pulled the Rocket ^-^
When I first stepped into the emerald dream, the first ever purple seed I opened I got the saber mount, and then each and every blue seed I opened that day awarded me a different pet.
When my gf opened the guo-lai caches, she literally got a super-rare drop every time she opened one until there were no longer any new rare drops for her to get. I calculated that the chance for that happening is like one in a billion.
BUT
for a new player, keyboard turning, open each bag one by one levels of new player, to literally get the X-45 on the first try. That's just insane!

Me and my friend first started playing WoW 2013/2014ish and we did Onyxia's Lair for the first time, mount dropped and I won the roll. Had no idea until way later that it was a rare mount

Same happened to me, also on a dracthyr. The sad thing is - i really wanted the Love Armor for proto-drakes :c You'd think it would be a more common drop, but nope. I wish i could trade the rocket with someone who ACTUALLY wants it and get my edgy armor instead...
Been playing since Vanilla have never gotten it. I have only seen it drop once and that was also for someone in our guild the first time she did the run over 10 years ago.

Reminds me when I got invincible on my first run, the salt did flow heavily as guild members saw the heroic 25 man ICC achievement followed by the reigns of invincible

I had the same thing happen to me, my wife and I ran it because I mentioned mount farming, got it first try, then later got the fallen charger first try the same day

It’s great to see a new player enjoying the game for what it is and playing with a group of friends. Wow almost feels like a solo adventure nowadays. I miss the unknown of running dungeons with no prior experience and getting a rare drop but not knowing what it is or does 🤣
I’ve played WoW many years going solo or playing with one other person, this is the most fun I’ve had in a long time playing with family and friends and having an experience like this for a new player 😊
i had similar scenario , i start playing in BFA . i did see a cool fire bird , guy told me its form a raid with an elf , i did try 1 time and got it , since than i dont play wow . (only after a year i did see a random video like this one , about hard to obtain mounts and this bird was in it, i dint know it was low % till then )
I have every other mount from holidays except that one. And I have ran these every year from the start.

Long time buddy of mine farms this mount every year since 2010 on 25 toons, has NEVER got it. This guy does it the first time and boom! What the actual fuck lol
closest thing to a first run drop I ever got was an astral cloud serpent on my second run of the place for transmog for my priest.
I finally got it this year after trying since 2017, total of about 1500 tries and using 5 accounts. This mount is such a good one to get on the first try too, it will unlock hoards of salt, a kiss/curse if you will.
Yeah we’ve been seeing the salt even amongst our guild 😅 but we’re so happy for him and he’s wanting to play more!

Ive only ever had a mount drop of the first try twice, the first one was the guldan mount and the second was the mount that came from the rare in the maw that allowed you to mount in the maw before they made so you could mount there by default haha

@@sonija28 yeah I think it’s a good looking mount! My buddy had been trying to get that mount for a long time and randomly asked if I wanted to come along for one of his runs. I ended up getting it and he didn’t… he was not happy lmfaooo

it does drop, its just farmed by bots who know it's spawn timer every couple of weeks

I think it's normally a 0.03% drop chance? But I think Blizz made it this year a 1% drop chance for your first attempt of the day
It's funny, I also got it last year after around 5 tries... and I'm not a collector, never farmed it before, I don't have any cool mounts. But I do know it's 1 in 3000 chance or something. So, I was very confused.

I hope the guy that said "only a couple people in the world have it" doesn't actually believe that. It's considered a rare mount, but nowhere near that rare. I saw 11 people lined up on them in Valdrakken earlier today on my tiny server.
Nah, definitely more common now, I actually got it my last attempt this week. But he said it generally as a quick explanation to our friend who has no idea what's going on lol
