    Thank you Very Much.... I check the BCM fuse and it was burnt. I replace the fuse and it started right up. My car was down for a week and I couldn't afford to get it looked at.

    I haven't tried the method you recorded yet but I still want to give you an early thank you! This alone gives me hope; when you go to your mechanic and they start talking about putting $1300 into a 12 yr old car, you're often left at a crossroad. So THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting this information with hopes of helping others, you're very kind. 😊

    Hi, thanks so much for this video! I'm having the same trouble which is frustrating, especially since I know next to nothing about cars, and could you tell me where I can purchase the clip you've put on the bcm? Is it a bcm fuse? Or better yet, I'd appreciate a link to an online shop. Thanks so much!

    for people having their battery die. you are more than likely going to have a leeching component. you have to check all your fuses for voltage with a multimeter while the car is off, after 10 min. and track down where the bad connection is.

  • @gtamayo1

    on mine if you have the doors ōpen/ lights on or trunk open. the car will not start you have to remove battery ground and close the door then start. for a while it stop sing it but my key fob and some light shut off but I had a car that started every time. I disconnected the battery again and I'm in square 1

      you sometimes have to keep the key in the start button then remove and insert the fuse up to 5 or 6 more times while maintaining the key in the start position, sounds crude but it does work for me.

    i made a harness with the ends of a fuse on the end a 10 amp fuse in the middle and a toggle switch at the end. now if it happens i just toggle it and it works fine. someone said it may be something with the ignition cylinder housing. could this be true?

    • @rkmorgan32

    I see you're actually commenting back unlike most videos I've posted on... If you can help me that would be great!! I have a 2000 pontiac grand am gt that has a faulty start up. Sometimes it will start up great, other times it will flutter and die right out and sometimes it will run for a while and all of a sudden the gauges go haywire and everything dies.. Sometimes it won't even catch to fire up all the way. I'm waiting on a ignition switch and crank shaft position sensor... apparently the fuel pressure is okay and the fuel filter is clean. It doesn't have a specific time when it acts up. It can be any rpm, temp, or outside temp. :( We are stumped... any suggestions what to do?

    • @rkmorgan32
      @rkmorgan32  10 років тому

      it doesn't sound like it has to do with the passlock, I've done research and nowhere has anybody said that the car dies after it's started up, my main problem besides starting is failure of the gauges, but at no time has the car ever stalled after the initial start, do you lose all power after the car conks out? maybe the battery connection.

    • @AngiePants510
      @AngiePants510 10 років тому +2

      RK M yep. Loses everything. The instrument panel goes haywire (all lights come on and flash for a second, the gauges go up and down, I'm not sure about the interior lights or locks and windows-- haven't actually checked that part) power steering goes out. It has no noticeable reason or time it goes out. It's sometimes at a complete stop, it's happened while driving 45 mph or so, it's happened while taking off from a stop... We just recently pulled all fuel related fuses from under the hood and put them back, it started up perfectly about 8-10 times after that. It sat for a few minutes, then went right back to not starting/stalling right after start up. :( Everyone says the battery and all battery related things are clean and functional.

    Just wanted to let anyone looking know, my 04 cadillac cts 3.6 had a
    security lock up. I did the relearn (leave the key in the on position
    for 10 minutes). That worked so I drove it to the parts store, had it
    scanned, and then it locked up again. This time, no matter what I did,
    it would not do the relearn again. I was about to take a $1600 hit from
    cadillac so I said; let me try one more thing. CRC QD contact cleaner in
    the ignition lock cylinder and on the ecm connections ( I think it was
    the lock cylinder ) fired right up. Moral of the story; anyone with a
    96up gm should have a can of contact cleaner in the trunk.

      you could leave the fuse in and enjoy the radio and panel instruments but you will have trouble starting the next time. If i leave the fuse in overnight the battery will die too. If you take the fuse out you will find that it starts everytime.

    When you tried to start it the 2nd time did u leave the key in the “on” position? Or turn it off?(when you pulled the fuse)

    • @rkmorgan32
      @rkmorgan32  5 років тому +1

      hey Mike, I turned it off. When I get it to start I take the fuse out. The oddest thing I've found is that this method (placing and pulling fuse) doesn't work when it is a hot day....?? (unless I've taken out the fuse which works indefinitely, I wired the A/C to a toggle when I need it) ( Hoot day = 90 degrees and above......) I got the idea to spray some Electronic Duster in the Keyhole and low and behold it started with fuse method. Go figure, I guess the blast of cold air caused the electronic contacts to contract and connect

    • @rkmorgan32
      @rkmorgan32  5 років тому +1

      I just read plainandsimple's comment below and I'm going to try it. I used the air cleaner and my theory was it contracted the contacts enough to connect. here's the comment: "let me try one more thing. CRC QD contact cleaner in
      the ignition lock cylinder and on the ecm connections ( I think it was
      the lock cylinder )"

  • @Cirux321
    @Cirux321 8 років тому +2

    Just bypass it permanently by soldering a proper ohm range resistor in the wiring going to the ignition switch. Then you wont have to do this shit fix that disables 90% of all your vehicles electronics.

    • @fishboat6244

      Hi Cirux 321 Do you have any more detail on how to do this?.....I have a 2002 Trailblazer LTZ, Security System appears to be draining the battery, so we are simply not locking the car. I would love just to disable the security and "dumb the car" down so we can just lock and unlock old school!! I've been searching everywhere for a fix....

    • @rkmorgan32
      @rkmorgan32  10 років тому

      Hi I removed a fuse under the hood it's a big green and it says left I/P for instrument panel and I haven't had to remove/reseat the fuse before starting, I've researched and the testimonies all say they've had 800 to 1200 dollars worth of work on it for it just to start happening again.

    • @rkmorgan32
      @rkmorgan32  10 років тому

    This happens to mine from time to time. What I do is leave the key in the ON position for ten minutes and then start the car. It resets something or whatever.
    Make sure that you're properly grounded out on the battery(good connection) and if I remember right, the BCM as well.

    Didn't work on my 2002 Monte Carlo SS no matter how many times i unplugged it and plugged it back in. I replaced the BCM and done the relearn process. 20 min. , 30 min. and 40 min. and 50 min. I even done the one that tells you to 1 time for 10 min. until the security light goes off and then try to crank it. STILL NOTHING!!! When i turn the key on everything is working, but when i try to crank it.... I GET NOTHING!!! I don't know what else to try, besides kicking it. Oh, I've also checked all the fuses under the hood and on both sides of the dash. All are good. I'm going to try bypassing the key switch next i guess. If you know of anything else i can try, let me know.

  • @kc7154
    @kc7154 5 років тому

    After many attempts ( replace key cylinder, replace ICM, bypass key cylinder with resistor)to fix this issue on my 2001 Impala...I tracked it to the BCM...pulling fuse is not the solution...replacing the BCM solved my problem. What I noticed was gauges would either not work or tach needle would bounce...which i thought was idol control issue...it takes time to trace this as it gives you many false indicators. Shame on GM...

    Just disconnect the fucking battery! Pull off the (+) (RED) wire because the computer is grounded to the car body. Touch the red wire to the (-) termanel to discharge any stored electric in the computer. Wait 20 min them re connect the battery. Start the car. Works every time. Fucking ripoff mechanics want all your money.
