  • This is a comparison between 3 well known and popular gold prospecting detectors, the Fisher Gold Bug 2, Fisher Gold Bug Pro and Minelab Eureka Gold. The detectors were air tested for depth on various size gold nuggets and some coins. The detectors were also compared as to how they react to hot rocks. See more at thaimetaldetectors.com

    though I had some problem with sea water It also ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxa-FNYUOM93a388gi9a4brtSCEVmrHgJH land for finding any things very easily. (thought it would work as normal due to it being water proof within certain parts of the detector), on dry land and sand worked well. My first one, so still have lots to learn

    The Gold Bug 2. More depth on small gold and there is more small gold out there.

    Yes I totally agree about the coil size! This was a quick test with what I had around to get some general ideas, but would be better to have the same size coil!

    Would the Fisher Gold Bug pro detect deeper gold targets if you had an Eliptical coil on it versus the small round coil on it???

    with the Minelab Eureka gold you only used 60kz mode... what depth could you get with the 20kz and the 6.4kz mode ? I'm thinking probably twice as deep with air testing coil size and shape is important too.

    Hi detecto guy I live in Bangkok, Thailand. So which part of Thailand are you living right now?
    Do you have a Minelab Eureka Detector for sale?
    I would love to buy one and enjoy it as my part time, hobby.

    Are the coils interchangeable between the 2 fisher products?

  • @thaimetalDetection
    @thaimetalDetection  12 років тому +1

    Yes, it is also good for big nuggets. The surface VLF detectors however have some trouble with deep targets, for that something like the Minelab GPX-5000 (a pulse detector) is better (but more expensive!).

    It seems like you did the ground balance in the last detector with targets near the coil. I think that is why the detector signal was weak.

      hitch 77 exactly what happened. All targets were directly in front of the coil.

    First of all nice video, I admire your efforts and have a few questions and comments. You are probably like most people and don't have easy access to any three metal detectors of your choice and chose three good ones you could get your hands on. The Gold Bug models both score very high in their price range of $650 for the Gold Bug Pro and $750 for the Gold Bug 2 Vs The Minelab Eureka Gold for $1050. I had my heart set on getting a Gold Bug Pro but after watching this I am wondering why it has such a small coil. Do you think it would be better with a different coil and if so what would be the best.

    Wow...it look to me in all the test that the MineLab was best. It had clearer signals, very little problem with hot rocks. Although I couldn't tell where you were on the paper while measuring, it seemed better with the smaller targets than the gold bug 2. The gold bug 2 seemed like it was right there with the MineLab, but the target sound was not as good. The gold bug pro seems like it isn't near as good as the 2. But, it's what the person hunting with it Lowell's most comfortable with. Thanks

    VCO technology is the way of the future in detecting.
    The Gold Bug DP is what was needed in this comparison video with the 11" DD.
    19khz and dual processors for unmatched recovery and target separation.
    IMHO, it cant be beaten in the right hands.

    +Clair M actually gold has a very small halo effect.... 2. The length of time an object is buried: Various chemicals in the soil have a corrosive action on metal. Some metals corrode faster than others. A modern zinc penny is attacked by these soil chemicals quite easily, whereas the action on copper and silver is much less, and corrosive action on gold is hardly noticeable, if at all. As these chemicals eat away at the metal, oxidation (rust) takes place, which is absorbed into the surrounding soil. This causes the soil to become more conductive, which in turn makes the metallic object appear larger than it actually is and easier to detect. This is known as the "halo effect." (From the Fisher web site).
    'Flour Gold around the gold target is not what is meant by the halo effect'.

      I run tours, and have had all sorts of machines,people turn up to learn and plenty of people have gone home with their first piece of gold after a days listening and learning, also a friend owns and runs a detector shop with 25 yrs exp , so I guess i'll stick with what I have and know . 6.5oz's last trip

      try panning the dirt from around your target and then see if there is no flour gold [its halo] in the pan

    • @a.i.m.straight990
      @a.i.m.straight990 9 років тому +1

      no I just go and find the gold, not sit around fixing the detector, also have a friend that does what you do,and also fitted the over the horizon radar system ,so I do know what I'm talking about, so maybe you stick to what you know best and so will I, I would rather a pocket full of gold than a pocket full of diodes and capacitors

    Strange stuff gold ,i had an hour spare so decided to try my 3 machines on some gold .
    3 bits a part 9ct earring a 14ct pen nib and a 9ct chain ,my fisher f5 found all 3 bits but identified them as iron so would not be dug! My gold racer found all 3 but again identified them as iron so i wouldn't dig them but my f75 missed the chain but identified the others as foil so i would dig them!
    The detectors shouldnt be judged on depth but on how well they discriminate IMHO ,in my land theres hundreds of years of iron use so in theory if you dug everything you would find the gold but is it worth thousands of hours digging nails? At the moment the only machine that has produced gold is the f75 merely because it thinks its foil lol
    As a dedicated gold machine i had hoped the racer would somehow indicate gold differently to iron ,it has an advantage it sees gold deeper but if it saw it at ten feet but you thought it was iron its advantage is lost.
    PS the best performer in depth is a 1980's cscope 3300 but that thinks its iron as well DOH

    You shouldn't use your hand to run that across the detector because the salt in your hand will also set off the detector, you should be using a plastic scoop to do that! Just a FYI!

    • @patrickhoxuyen448
      @patrickhoxuyen448 2 роки тому

      @Tammy Ingraham to be honest, Eureka's release coil doesn't do very well with small Gold at 60k. and because of that it only produces a faint sound. But really listen with both ears, if possible get a headphone with impedance from 100ohm. and you will have to rethink the Eureka Gold. have a nice day.
