Good morning guys if your GM 1000 Speaker is working when the headset is plugged in, send it in for repair because it should not do that... Also, the GM 1000 has a DD coil as opposed to the GB2 with a Mono making a difference in where the target is heard best on the coil so GB2 is hot all the way around the edge and the GM 1000 it is hot down the center of the coil front to back so the tip can be used to pinpoint and center. Great and informative video, GOOD STUFF, cheers Bill

VLF doesn't use mono coil. It has to transmit and receive at the same time unlike PI.

In my opinion, nuggets weighing 0.10 grams, with a depth of up to 15 or 20 cm, the Monster 1000 at 45Khz may have an advantage in terms of audio that is more present, and we must not forget that when the Gold Bug is used with a headset, there is an optimum advantage and this disadvantage in terms of audio disappears completely. Finally, the Gold Bug 2 at 72 Khz finds the same 0.10 gram nugget at a much greater depth than the Monster 1000 due to its greater sensitivity, not to mention the new, more modern model of the Gold Bug 2 with a viewfinder and a 14 inch elliptical coil, which allows it to go deeper into the ground. The bottom line: The Monster 100 is great, but I'd rather buy a Gold Bug 2. I think a comparison should be made at greater depths, like taking a 0.1 to 0.5 gram nugget and doing depth measurements in the ground to find out which one goes deeper, I think that would be a great comparison. Hugs and success!

Hi guys, I have both, this is just my opinion. The Gm has more depth power but a real pain, you constantly have to pump pump pump to keep the ground balance. The Gb is not that way, once you pump and tune you are set until your ground changes quite a bit. For myself I prefer the Gb for the fact that it much more stable. Thank you very much Adam for your great videos.

Awesome video guys! I've been out of MD'ing for a while and plan to get back into it. By the way, I believe the two 9-volt batteries in the Gold Bug II are in parallel to supply more current, for long life. So, it will work with one 9 volt but for less time. And of course, the frequency does matter. The higher Frequencies on these machines respond better to small gold, as opposed to a 7 kHz machine which would be better for coins and much larger gold. Later guys.

  • @schristiansen3151
    @schristiansen3151 4 роки тому +6

I just went through the debate on which of these 2 to buy and this is what I came up with. Even with a higher price, I believe the Gold Monster is a better value and a better detector.
    * It comes standard with 2 different search coils vs only 1 with the GB2. That alone would account for the cost difference.
    * 2 rechargeable lithium-ion battery packs with current promotion(1 normally) vs. the ongoing cost of 9-volt batteries to keep the GB2 running. I'd guess the big lithium-ion rechargeable battery packs would give a much longer run time than the small 9V batteries as well.
    * An extra battery pack that takes (8) AA batteries for another power option vs (2) 9V batteries which is the only option for the Bug, so if you're out of 9V batteries, you're up a creek without a detector. ; )
    * A prospecting scoop is included but not with the Bug.
    * An LCD screen giving you visual as well as audio feedback, not available on the Bug.
    * Headphones are included with the Monster but not with the Bug.
    * A wall charger with adapters for any country and a vehicle charger vs none with the Bug.(since it's 9V only)
    * And the most important part, the new technological advancements (24-bit processor and auto ground balance) vs. none with the Bug.
    * And if you're current or former military you get 15% off with the Gold Monster, I don't know if Fisher offers this.
The GB2 is without question, an excellent detector but given what I found above I ordered the Monster. There's no question that whichever you choose you'll have a fine detector. I hope this helps someone.

My first gold detector was an old original Gold Bug. Then I bought a Gold Bug Pro. I liked the ease of the Gold Bug pro because you didn't need to keep ground balancing it. Great video guys, glad you put it out there. I've seen this video numerous times but didn't apply to me at the time. Now that I'm in the market for another NuggetShootinMD, this video is up my alley. Currently I have Whites MX7 and the latest Whites Goldmaster 24K,purchased from my good old prospecting bud Jim McCollough. Love both Whites machines, they are beasts. Now, interestingly I bought the ML GM 1000 2 years ago when the price was $749 or so and sold it in eBay, why?
I couldn't stand pumping that coil every few feet or so when the ground would change and it would wooowop, pump coil again and wooowop would go away. So long story short and looking back in hindsight, that machine was basically auto tuning with the pumps, I knew that and was just focused on the idea that "if it's auto ground balancing, then why do I always have to keep pumping the coil?" The MX7 and 24K isn't any different ,I simply just did it with buttons instead of pumping. So now I think I regret selling the GM1000 although I'm still fixated on Getting GB2 because of it's crazy 71KHz frequency, only one of it's kind, so I guess it's a bragging right with plenty of testimonials from other prospectors.
Anyways thanks again for the vid
