Hello Chuck.. yes the Monster 1000 is a keeper 100% I’ve been testing a bunch and the Gold Monster 1000 is definitely my new go to detector! Signal Processing Features that Work Very Well with very little signal processing attenuation! ✌️PT
another great trip...im tryin to decide on a gold bug or mine lab 1000 ive watched alot of this type of movies on the subject but this was the most informative...thanks for the trip man...
The monster 1000 is now my favorite and my goto detector. My Gold bug2 is still a good detector but now collecting more dust than gold. The old Gold Master is also dusty but has a special place in my heart. If you’re interested in the Gold Bug 2 mine is available for a good price. Looking on eBay they sell for around $500~$600 I’ll sell mine for $400 with free shipping. It works great and has headphones and a coil protector also included. I’ll also make sure it’s dusted off and has new batteries too! If you have the money the monster 1000 is in my opinion the best VLF gold detector. My email: prospectortripp@gmail.com No pressure from me Bob.. I’m just offering it to you because of your comment and you are looking for a good detector. Stay Golden! I hope you have a wonderful Merry Christmas! Peace Prospector Tripp
Thanks Bill.. the monster 1000 is definitely at the top IMO.. the processing is done very well and out performs the bug2 All Day Long! The old master II with a keen ear is a bug2 killer also! 😳 Some will disagree.. not me.. I’ve tested many times off line. The bug is dead but will always have a swinging place in my heart. Proof is always in the pudding! Thanks Nugget Shooter ✌️PT
@@ProspectorTripp i seem to remember an old outlaw by that name fellow from Missouri ! Much love and respect brother. And Tripp fyi that flower gold wizard fellow is ok but don't let him on to that fact you'll be stuck with him as a friend for life.
Zip-zip-zip. Enjoyed watching your detector test. Yep some time the old dogs still have quite a bit of bark left in them. The oldest detector I have is a Fisher 2 box detector and my first detector which was (and still is) the original Gold Bug by Garrett. Now you have me curious in maybe comparing my 4 detectors (the other two one is a Whites Surfmaster and a Nokta/Makro Kruzer). Love your videos PT and can't wait for the next one.
A lot of detectorist are trying to baby these old warhorse and most of the gold and fantastic times they had with them are forever etched in their mines.
Try reading the manual on the machines you don't ground balance the gb2 that way. When Hou don't hear a noise going up and down your ground balanced. I've used all machines and I'm not trying to talk shi* but it seems your under gb all of the machines other than the whites.
I bought a new Goldmaster V-Sat (The next Model after the II) in the mid 90’s, I still have it and it works just as good as it did back then. I have the 2 White’s elliptical coils for it and a small rectangular third party sniping coil .. all 3 coils have their own wands for quick changing with the electronics box. The electronics box easily detaches from the wand and I always wear my box on my tool belt .. so the wands are very light and don’t tire me out. These boxes are all analog with no LCD screens to squint at or burn out over time, and I don’t even need to look at the box to adjust GB, gain, V-Sat, etc. as the knobs are big and easy to feel. Recently I talked to a well known nugget shooter on the phone .. who also happens to be a Minelab dealer, and he was telling me how the Goldmonster 1000 would find tiny nuggets my Goldmaster could never find .. I didn’t say it to him .. but I call BS on that one, my Goldmaster has found tiny grain size flakes buried on top of highly mineralized serpentine bedrock in the old hydraulic pits that are almost not even worth keeping. If I were ever to buy another detector it would be a Minelab GPX5000 to add TO my Goldmaster. My White’s Goldmaster V-Sat has been my little buddy for over a quarter century now and I’d never trade it for one of the modern digital VLF machines.
Hello Danny.. Using the Monster 1000 pretty much exclusively! Definitely my go to detector! It’s just so handy, effective, light and has plenty of capabilities that work nicely for me. Thanks sir ✌️PT
Amen GS.. the Gold Monster 1000.. is overall better in almost every way! The bug2.. absolutely not as good! IMHO 😂 The Old Gold Master II has an incredibly strong field with very little processing. The bad thing about the 30 years old technology is no real effective processing at all and the ground ballance requires some fussing around. If you are looking I’d definitely go with the Minelabs! ✌️PT
Where can I buy a gold master 2, I would totally buy yours off of you if i could make an offer? Love the review. Seems like the better choice is apparent.
I would just keep an eye out for a good deal.. they are out there. eBay, fb marketplace, auctions, garage sales.. I’ve seen a few for sale over the years. The Gold monster 1000 is definitely the best because of the terrific electronics design and is my go to machine! But I can say the old gold master 2 still has lots of life! There are many others also that are pretty good also. Study up and know what you want then keep looking. For the moment I am keeping all my detectors! Thanks much ✌️PT
What's your opinion on the White's GMT? Do you think it would be worth it to get a 8x14 coil? I have one and am learning how to use it. By the way there is a GM II for sale on CL in southern AZ. Thanks for the video!
Hello Billy, Not totally sure about the GMT.. never used one. However generally speaking.. White’s detectors have been well designed and typically are very good. Briefly read the GMT manual.. it’s a 48khz machine with improved features from the GM2. Probably quite good! I wouldn’t bother with the 8x14 coil until you feel completely well versed on the operation and overall function. Experience is the best way to get the most out of any detector. It’s about a 20 year old design so, you may want to save the GMT large coil cash for a newer Minelabs Gold Monster 1000.. The more I use the monster more I like it! Definitely a terrific machine! Thanks for your comment Billy! ✌️PT
@@ProspectorTripp I appreciate the advice. I have a lot to learn about the GMT. The Gold Monster seems like a great machine and gets great reviews. GPAA is offering a lifetime membership and a GM 1000, but I’m going to learn how to use the GMT before moving up to a new detector. Cheers!
I feel a bit sorry for Minelab Gold Monster($900+ new,) buyers/users. You really need to research your detectors. Do you know that my Whites MXT (10+ YR OLD VLF detector,) will hit 'every type and size of target'-at the same depths as the Gold Monster, with equal-size coils on each unit? Absolutely true. Folks should have bought the Minelab Equinox 800, instead. Or an MXT used- for $300.00. P.S; If my MXT can signal on the smallest shotgun shell BB, a no. 8, or .09 of an inch at 2 inches depth? What does that tell you...
The Gold Master II has proven its worth for many many years! My GM1000 was 700 bucks used shipped to my house and so far I really enjoy it. Light and is very effective. I may look for a used MXT to add to the arsenal! Thanks ✌️PT

Hello PR4470, not totally understanding your comment. From what I understand, a larger coil obviously is larger and covers more ground, however it has less focused signal energy and less ground penetration. I only use the small coil. Thanks ✌️PT
Put a 14 inch coil on the bug and it will give a signal at 24 inches. Coil size is everything. I owned the GM2 for 20 year. The GB2 and the monster are way better. A super sluice pan of pay dirt in the driveway is not a real test. Take them all to the gold field and all that GM2 will find is lead!
