- Welcome Period Six Designs!
Check out my glitter collection: periodsixglitter.com
This is my little YT channel where I share my love of crafting with the world. Today I am showing you how I mod podge a tumbler. I used a 20oz Ozark tumbler from Walmart. In my opinion, the modge podge method is the easiest when you are first starting out glittering tumblers. If you have any questions, leave them below.

And what’s a good brush that doesn’t loose hairs!! TY ❤️
Where did you get your spinner ?
You're so awesome
what kind of brushes do you use for the cups links please
What font is that? I ❤️ it
Does it matter if you use dishwasher safe or not? Or do they both stick the same? I’ve seen both used but I’ve never seen the before or after for months after use?
I applied twi layers of glitter and mod podge then one layer of triple thick. I noticed a crack in the glitter, how do I prevent that in the future?
If I don't want to use epoxy what else can I use to seal it
Could you use a triple thick coating or poly get a nice shine if unsure of epoxy?
Epoxy is FDA compliant after curing, which is normally 3 days. You'd have to see if the other finishes are FDA compliant. I don't think they are.
Thank you for doing this tutorial it helped me with a lot. You made it so easy to follow and understand. Have you ever tried putting vinyl on your tumblers if so do you put it after the epoxy?
oh yes....vinyl after the first layer of epoxy
Would you happen to have a video showing it? Thank you and sorry for asking so many questions.
Awesome 🤩 video! Can I use a spray sealer to seal the glitter?
That’s what I do but I it while on the Turner so it evens out
How do you prevent glitter and other materials from getting inside the cup?
Do you have to epoxy it or could you just do another coat of mod podge?
How do you clean your brushes from the glue? Are you able to reuse them? What is the best modge podge to use when working with tumblers and glitter?
I literally just rinse my brush with water right away from glue & it's fine 😯
I rinse my brushes right away with some water and a dot of shampoo to keep the bristles soft. If it's a brush with harder bristles you can use conditioner as well.
If not using epoxy, will another coat of mod podge be added to the second layer of glitter or do you have to use the epoxy?
This cup was coated in epoxy ua-cam.com/video/lDbVDa54h4g/v-deo.html
Which mod podge do I use? It matters?
Where did you get the spinner with ball at the end?
I answer a lot of those questions about equipment in this video ua-cam.com/video/Uf6z3SIzn9w/v-deo.html
Do you have to use epoxy on the tumbler is there anything else you can use to seal it
brite tone
Does it matter what kind of mod podge u use
Do you seal glitter t after your last glitter coat
only if its an ombré or swirl
Would it be better to use the dishwasher safe mod podge, so if you gift it out it can be washed? I do want to say thank you so much for doing this video because the epoxy sorta make me nervous. One day I will give it a shot I've watched your epoxy video as well 🙏🏾 ❤ 💙
so in this case, these was finished with epoxy but you could do the dishwasher safe epoxy but you can feel the texture of the glitter underneath
When you let it sit for six hours with glitter do you actually let it sit or spin on the turner?
You can just let it sit 😁
I was thinking of the same question🤷🏽♀️🤔
After the second coat of modge podge and glitter what do you seal you cups with?
epoxy
Thank you. I watched your next video very helpful.
Is an additional coat needed if applying vinyl?
Not for glitter. If applying vinyl you would do it between coats 1 & 2 of epoxy.
@@PeriodSixDesigns Thank you 😊
What will happen if I let it sit overnight
Where do you get your glitter?
Michaels
@@PeriodSixDesigns thank you
Can you leave the tumbler as it without epoxy?
You can but you will have glitter everywhere. You would still want to seal it with something
@@PeriodSixDesigns what do you recommend to seal it with?
@@lanam4010 modge podge or triple thick
@@PeriodSixDesigns thanks
Do you apply epoxy or some kind of sealer afterward? What do you use, if so?
ua-cam.com/video/lDbVDa54h4g/v-deo.html
Thank you for saying Mod Podge and not Modge Podge!
Don't use alcohol pads. Some people NEED them for medical injectables. Use the bottle or something else.
Linda calm down lol
@@PeriodSixDesigns I'm calm. I NEED them. They were made for people who use injectables. Crafters have other options for cleaning items, we don't. Alchohol is difficult to find in any form now. I'm just asking people to be considerate.
Do you just go around to people videos and bully them about their choice of products used or do you craft cuz this video is from over a year ago and if you watched my other recent videos you would see what I clean with...please crusade on other channels...people come here to have fun and learn
@@listen_lynndah4288 I had never thought about that. You have a very valid point and I will take your advice as well as share.
@@ZydecoSoul it's the responsible thing to do. I was accused of bullying 😂😂😂. A simply pinned statement at the top of these comments could have fixed this. I decided to disengage and not be a bully.
