“ she likes my fu**ing tongue!” 🤣🤣
Wahahaha “I am your prisoner as I am trapped by your love” 😂🤣😂
the line took me off 😭💀💀
He just doesn’t give in 😂
I gotta be honest I know he was a crappy spouse in the first season. But the way Peter takes Catherines side in this whole conversation this is actually how your husband is supposed to be to stand by your side when people are against the way you two do things in your union. I like how he did try to impress his mother- in law. I think what makes her mother angry is that Peter told her the truth, he doesn’t want the throne now because he can see Catherine is a better ruler. Also that Peter truly does love Catherine in his own way. I honestly think her mother sent Catherine to Russia to be cruel to her. Her mother would have to had know what it was like when Peter was in charge. Catherine’s mother exhibits a lot of narcissism in the scenes where she has any dialogue.
She really was. She treated her daughter in a very despicable way. Called her ugly, did everything to undermine her self esteem, even let her brother in-law kissing Catherine (who was his niece) in front of everyone in an attempt to cause a scandal and shame her.
I think a lot of people are conflating the real Johanna Elisabeth with the one Gillian Anderson portrays. The real one was dead by the time her daughter became empress so who knows how she would have reacted. I think the Gillian Anderson character expresses a lot of love towards Catherine and makes a lot of fair points on how her coup doesn't make any sense. I think she's using a façade of narcissism in the show to enable her to get a sense of everything that's been happening.
@@bennypoon1506 to be fair though I’ve seen a lot of comments saying Catherine’s mother in real life wasn’t kind or loving to her in the slightest
Just so you know the way her other is depicted is pretty in line with historical documents. But Peter was never that emotionally intelligent.
Jeez, the dialogue is so artificial and contrived, and the wittiness is forced. I imagine only giggly airheads would swoon and faint to it.
Seeing her in this and then watching her as Margaret Thatcher in The Crown…….this woman is an AMAZING actress!
You should watch her on Sex education 👍🏻👍🏻
She's amazing in Hannibal, mysterious and morally ambiguous
B Brilliant!
Those of us old enough to have watched the X-files first time around, already knew this...😉
@@stephaniehawk9389 we sure do 😉
This attempt to rehabilitate Peter III is amazing. Nicholas has created a character is who is loads preferable to the real Peter III.
Peter:’Oh she likes my fucken tongue 👅😂’
Catherine: ‘🤫🤦🏽♀️’
🤣😂
I have a vague suspicion that the mother-in-law has understood how things really are ...
Her mom was power hungry and controlling. Ultimately, I think she was trying to black mail Peter once she bedded him and make him take back the thrown, so her other daughter could win her betrothed back. The way she acted and went about it though was more like she was trying to keep her reputation.
As someone who does not have the funds to spare on a subscription service and as such has only seen this show through clips, it was so jarring for me when I found out what happened next. Just looking at this clip, all I could find myself thinking about was how sweet it is that Peter is clearly on his best behavior and pouring on the charm as thick as he can. It had me thinking about how he probably saw this as a chance to impress Catherine, and also about how he had such a complicate relationship with his own mother, and how that might be coming into play in his behavior here, and then. . . well, then I found out where this storyline was heading, and now Catherine's mother takes up all of my focus when I'm rewatching this scene. xD
"I am fond of you the way one feels seeing a cat with no eyes and a limp paw."
Great description of your feelings Catherine. Great description. 😂
A great love story!!
Gillian was just brilliant in The Great❤
She's amazingly and amusingly honest, which is great.
The epiphany thing, I gotta write that one down.
