  • Coral snakes are among the most secretive and uniquely adapted venomous snakes in North America, but what makes them so special? Let's head to Arizona on a nocturnal herping expedition to try and encounter the elusive Sonoran coral snake!
Special thanks to Zach and Spencer for planning this incredible Arizona trip and keeping me safe in the field, and to Nicholas and Rob for showing us around this amazing area!

If you've made it this far in the description, remember to be safe when creature adventuring! Most wild animals can cause injury if harassed, and I do not recommend attempting to capture any creatures without purpose and practice. The reason that I interact with wildlife is to produce these educational videos, and I am a professional biologist. Also, I always ask permission from a land owner before exploring on their property, and you should do the same.
Keep adventuring everywhere, and keep your adventures safe at all times!

Congratulations on 50K. I know you have put years of effort into honing your videomaking skills- and it shows. This next species clue is a really tough one. I initially thought glass lizard but the head doesn't seem the right shape. Ring-neck snake was my guess but I'm still going with Eastern Glass Lizard.

Hey Ben, love your videos and congrats on the 50k! Here's to your next 50k! One slight constructive criticism from one videographer to another. The graphics should stay up long enough that you could read it twice at a decent speed, especially if it's on the wordier side. At 1:46 and 4:46, those graphics fly in and out rather quickly and I had to back it up and pause to read them.

A modification of a tuberculosis pathogen is used in treating bladder cancer so I’m not terribly surprised to hear of snake venom having prospects for cancer treatment.
    Great channel! Thanks!
