I can't get over the fact the cottonmouth is rattling its tail because it knows that other dangerous snakes do that to warn predators. it's so smart I love it
That's not necessarily true. They do it just to create noise usually with the leaf litter which means back away from me. The rattle snake is just equipped with the perfect tool for that but the cotton mouth doesn't do it because it knows a rattle snake does it's just instinct behavior to warn off predators
When I was a kid in East Texas a friend of mine was bitten by a water moccasin. It was really big and my friend was in some excruciating pain. His leg was swollen to almost twice its size by the time we got him to the hospital. We weren’t sure he would make it. The fang incisions were over two fingers wide. I will never forget that!
I feel confident in saying you're like a Steve Erwin for those that grew up without him. Not only do you find all these species but you give a great amount of information on them as well. Keep the entertainment up and stay wild.
I'm surprised at how much venom the cottonmouth unleashed in it's bite on the snake tongs. You could literally see the venom go flying! Absolutely amazing.
Hey coyote, I love the show and I've always had a knack for finding and observing animals. You the crew make me want to go back to school to study zoology and be able to encounter all the creatures you do! Thanks for the content

Poor snake. It was just sitting on his back porch relaxing when a couple of dudes showed up and put a bunch of lights and camera in its face. Rough night...🙂🙂
So dope how its fangs straight shot out a ton of venom! You should do more videos showing strikes like that and the types of venom and how much certain snakes may very. Keep up the awesome videos coyote! This was definitely one of my favorite!

In my experience, these snakes are very confident, and can be aggressive. I’ve had one of these that was every bit of 4.5 feet by me. I fished by that one for awhile, and it didn’t mind my being there four feet away from he/she. I’ve also experienced them just being pissed when a human gets that close. They don’t mind going after folks, even when unprovoked, I’d close to them.
I literally got a giant northern water snake to strike at my camera the other day. I didn't upload it because it wasn't for youtube but I got a cool picture of the snake with an open mouth right in front of the camera.

I agree with Ethan Smith......I live in NE Florida and hate the cottonmouth. They just sit there a lot of times and you have no idea. A rattle snake (well not the Pigmy) lets you know he is around. I have to always walk super slow and use a walking stick to look out for Cottonmouth.
I honestly feel bad for it... poor thing wasted venom striking at the snake tongs, and may have potentially broken it's fangs biting down on metal. Without those fangs it can't eat...
