Honda Odyssey rear brake pads replacement (2018 and up with electronic parking brake)

Thanks for making the video. I was doing the oil change and tire rotation today on my wife’s 2018 Odyssey and noticed the rear pads were really worn down. I’ll actually be doing the rotors tomorrow as well, as they’re warped.

You can resurface the rotors at auto zone. The main focus for this job is the electronic parking brake beside that it is just basic brake job. Have fun buddy

Hello, great video!! did you have to do anything specific prior to removing the electronic brake ? such as a maintenance mode or anything. or did you just go straight to remove it ? wondering this before i do my own. Thanks

No, I did not, but making sure the parking brake is not engaged.

I used the C clamp.

After taking off the electronic e-brake module on the back side of the caliper you can put on a c-clamp to compress the piston

Yes, it is. The rest are just regular brake job

not a Torx bit. He’s using the wrong tool.

It is not necessary, but you can resurface it.

If they are unevenly worn or warped...yes. you can check them with a micrometer or something that will allow you to check the thickness of the rotor itself, and each side of it individually.

This is the most confusing tutorial ever. Lubricate the brake pads when you put them.. what's the purpose of showing us putting a driver in the back side of the electronic brake when you're not going to do anything with it?
