You can get 2 of the endings on one playthrough, devil and one other. Recruit galf, get your ending but keep a separate save file earlier. Then after "devil" reload just before the last battle, delete galf, and get whatever other ending you qualify for. It seems the game does its check at the end, after Endora goes down. Also alot of people might not know it, but there is a secret shop. Saving up ALOT of money (which will hurt your ending because I think the number of days that pass are also a factor) will make it extremely easy to manipulate high align. and Charisma, as well as all other stats.
@@MidnightBlackandVictoria You are absolutely right. The game counts deleted characters as never recruited, so deleting Galf would be the equivalent of never having him recruited, which is why the game does this. It's a great tip because Galf offers powerful items and strong supernatural warriors (like the vampire). Thanks for the comment!
The first ending I got was the Priestess ending. Once I purchased the game (because there was no way I would beat this game in a rental), I also purchased the strategy guide and followed it to a T. I even ignored the temptation to exchange those Zodiac Stones for 99 Royal Crowns. Then at the very END of the game, I messed up. I had Brunhild equipped on a Werewolf in a unit full of generic characters and confronted Rashidi at the end of the game. He then went on that rant about not caring for the world, then asks that super-confusing question that was something like "Do you want this world for yourself so badly?" I was confused, because the way he asked it, it made it seem like it was selfish to want the world for myself and I hit NO. So then he flat out ERASED the unit, including Brunhild! I learned my lesson that day. Never agree with what a villain says. At least the PSX version is a lot clearer on that front, asking if you wish to fight him. Edit: I messed up the choice in the story above. The correct answer is "YES" in both versions. You want the world and you want to fight him.

First time I think I got the Devil as i didnt understand the alignment system. But over the course of 25 years Ive gotten them all. The "best" ending took me so damn long cause there are so many things that can go wrong even if you follow a guide.😂
Played through it twice and got bad endings both times. I know had 0 rep the first time. Second time I had max rep but my alignment and charisma were low and recruited hardly anyone. There is so much to juggle in the game but that is what makes it good.
To get the best ending you need to micromanage a lot of specific things at the same time, but it's extremely rewarding when it works! I'm thinking of doing a gameplay here on the channel getting the WORLD ending to help people get it too
The game just takes a lot of patience and time. It is really neat how you cannot play this game like a typical strategy/RPG. That is grinding heavily and trying to nuke everything. I did keep evil princess units for taking out units but struggled keeping levels up for my good units. So much juggling lol.
There is also one on the Saturn, it has a little better sprite work and some voice acting (in Japanese) but it has some nice little touches other versions don't.
Galf is easy. Have the Opinion Leader's (your character) group do most of the fighting and fight every group that is high alignment (clerics, knights, etc) you can in the first couple of battles. They will end up overpowered and if the OL hits the high ALI units, their ALI will in turn drop. Have a second group to be high ALI and kill all the low ALI groups (wizards, ninjas, ghosts, etc). Then, use your low ALI group for liberating towns and temples, that will cause your rep to fall fast. You can also stay on a map for days and continue to collect tribute. This is helped by using "Sunshine" after dark to speed things up. Best of all, you don't really need to worry about recruiting anyone except Galf and the only speed bump is you need Brunhild to recruit him, so you need 1/3 rep meter at Island Avalon for that. So you might not want to farm tributes to destroy your rep until after you complete that stage. Just remember, you WILL need either a great deal of Judgment cards and likely a few Emperor cards to beat the last few bosses due to their low ALI and the fact that low ALI will not damage them as much as high ALI. Also, the SUN card will be your enemy if your low ALI group is in the battle (it can outright kill you with low ALI). It's probably best if the OL doesn't beat the bosses.
I rented this every weekend for like 2 months and Lancelot killed me at the end and said I caused too much death or something like that I was devastated
Clear! If you are already an expert in Chaos Frame, then the main thing is to do the other requirements for the best ending: -see the stages and the characters that must be recruited in each of them -see and get the 3 sacred treasures -But most importantly... SEE THE QUEST OF THE 12 STONES OF THE ZODIAC! Because one of them needs a sub-quest (cake quest) that if it's not started on the correct map you lose forever and then you can't complete it...if I'm not mistaken it's right at the beginning of the game. If you do this you can make the World ending!
@@WarrenReport owwww what? The Zodiac Stones are literal items in the Game and not Lore thingy? I never knew dat, that i like OB64, is not that cryptic
@RolandTemplar In MOTBQ there's a LOT of hidden stuff you can do... You can play the entire game from start to finish and never know it. The 3 sacred treasures (including the Brynhildr sword), various Chaos Gates, the floating islands, the imprisoned demon, and finally the 12 zodiac stones to acquire. (And even a bonus stage after getting a special item...)

Not exactly sure why. Then again, the channel is new and the scripts are long so it's all good. Hanged Man, Moon and Hierophant, remember getting those three over 8 playthroughs, no internet back then 😔
Great opportunity now to play and do all the endings, don't you think?
To access dragon haven, you don't need any items, just naming your opinion leader fireseal does the trick
Really? I read somewhere that you would need to have Fireseal in at least one save to allow access by changing the name
Hanged Man ending is so fucked though lmao.
Indeed.

I have never been able to recruit Galf. I have decided it is impossible.

It's not necessary! Deneb is more of an extra, due to the difficulty of recruiting and the final message of it
