How did you let Eleanor die man? Should revive game before ending battle or it's a permanent death lol. Actually I finished the game today too and Shaher constantly targets Eleanor more than anyone else so I can understand.
@@TheHeavieKiwie she doesn't have to be dead. If you don't use her for the final battles you don't get the ending either.
@@That1J1 Oh yeah oh yeah. Eleanor did mention not to separate her oh yeah. I got mixed up between these endings and stuff oof.
Had Alphonse's girfriend survived, half of TO:LUCT plot would have disappeared, lol.

At first, I didn't know Alphonse was Tartarus in LUCT.
Was surprised that this eye patch dude had the Anbicion as his sword, the same Anbicion in Knight of Lodis.
Yes, the sword must be fantastic since he hasn't changed it in 23 years!
In addition he also has the special attack called Apocalypse which the KOL villain also performs.
Their characteristics? The B ending is characterized by being the best 😃👍
You bet! It's the end with the most happy endings among the characters, too bad the fictional reality is not always so beautiful, without a lost and sad Alphonse we wouldn't have a bloodthirsty Tartare and consequently without the best game in the saga!

But yeah, one of very few happy endings, gotta appreciate an ending that basically resolved the whole series in one move. Tarty doesn't get recruited, so he doesn't get tasked with sorting out Valeria, but also never helps overthrow the old Lodis for the Church, so presumably old Lodis collapses, and that's it?
@@CoffeePotato Who knows? From one moment to the next, some divine being may appear that had been sealed in some unknown region during the ogre battle that was forgotten and has powers to dominate the world and would be released. Amazing how this always happens haha
I'm finishing the MOTBQ lore video right now, I believe I managed to put together a line of reasoning that makes sense.

I got the B ending wich I like, although A+ fits better the tone of the ogre saga (and is the reason we have luct sooo). I chose path B (unknowingly) because wounding a mermaid seemed wrong to me. Imagine my surprise when I discovered this had led to getting Rictor instead of Cybil. Not that I like Cybil, but Rictor straight up allies with the Duque and tries to kill Alphonse, only to be forgiven by him for some reason. I hated Rictor so much, I was so tempted to no recruit him lol
Me too, on the first playthrough I ended up going the path B by accident. it's really weird following Cybil with her crazy plan to hurt innocents for the greater good.
The same thing happened to me although I do prefer forgiveness, so I didn't hold a grudge against him. I personally prefer the B ending, mainly because I prefer the hopefulness and am a little disappointed (just a little) on this being Lans Tartare's backstory. I think Alphonse stood as a hero on his own.
One thing that is weird about the B route is that you fight Naris in the catacombs which has a more endgame feel...but at midgame. Cybil seems to be a really weird and forced replacement for Shaher's host.
Rictor had his reasons. But eventually when the truth revealed, he saw pure hatred from the arch angel. Alphonse never really saw Rictor as an enemy if you ask me. And neither did Rictor or he wouldn't really tell Orson to go with Alphonse.
Got ending C as a kid, always thought Eleanor was too weak and useless to keep around since by the time I'd get Eleanor, I'd have a bunch of ninjas waiting to be turned into swordmasters or geared up hawksmen and the hassle of changing her class to Valkyrie or Siren wasn't worth it. Was feeling nostalgic recently; never finished the game again after getting ending C, didn't realise there were different endings, just thought the C represented a rating of how well I played the game and it was just one of those games with a bittersweet ending. I liked it in a way, bittersweet in the sense the MC died for the greater good of the world but came at the price of leaving his loved one behind. I must admit, would often envision myself as the MC, playing through the game so once I got that ending, it hurt a bit but it was the type of pain which I could come to terms with. It portrayed real life in a sense, things don't always go the way you had hoped. After getting ending C, I'd replay the game countless times without ever finishing the game again.
yes, I also got the C ending in my first playthrough, in the old days it was not easy to find information on what to do. BTW ninjas are very overpowered in this game!
Actually I want to mention something important. Everything you mentioned in the Ending A (like Euphare and her father plus those cutscenes with mermaids) happens in Ending B too. Ending B finishes with Alphonse and Eleanor journeying to an unknown place and they decided to travel across the mountains before the sunset.
Also here's a little trivia. I don't know if we see this character in other endings but in ending B we meet a certain priest in training. This Priest is actually Dmitri who is Eleanor childhood friend (don't know if he was a friend but she seemed to have trusted him or something). Dmitry shows up in one of Eleanor's flashback before she ran from the village. Both of the sprites completely resemble the same person.
Yes, I believe that the endings of secondary characters happen in the B ending! About the priest, I didn't know this and hadn't even paid attention, fantastic observation!

i used to play this game on my brothers gameboy so many years ago not even fully understanding english.
I got the C ending the first time i played it.
Then i forgot about this game for like 16 years until i remembered it 2 days ago.
Now im going on a trip down memory lane, thanks for the video im gonna try to get all the endings now.

The requirements are insane!
Just replayed this game again for the first time in decades. Good game, animation is kinda slow but decent, but every ending has something to twist your heart along the way. At the very least, ending B can be considered the fate defying "good" ending where Alphonse barely manages to retain and rebuild his friendship with Rictor and keep Eleanor around, where as Cybil arguably gets her comeuppance for suggesting you attack the already troubled mermaids early on (though you DO miss out on arguably the most powerful non-Lich mage unless you soup up another Siren with Crowns of Intellect to _almost_ match her).
Aerial _can_ still be recruited so long as you only get Minerva to low health, instead of killing her outright (which I believe is the ONLY instance of the game allowing you to get away with a percentage defeat condition). Just a shame that the potential for Demi-Humans (except Giants) to not be so restricted in their utility seems to have been cut out or something, because it turns out that opening their ability slots to try to hold magic does allow them to wield the 4 basic elemental missile spells, and ONLY the 4 most basic single target ones; Would have been such a nice quality of life improvement to classes whose Emblem and SP gains are already much more scarce than the rest, because I rather like Aerial's design and concept.
Heck, you have a lot of knowledge of this game! I'll be starting the gameplay series here on the channel next week I believe, I expect you there to discuss these matters in more detail, how about that? There are many KOL fans here on the channel, I'm sure many interesting insights like yours can be discovered!
@@WarrenReport Since you ask nicely, I will try. Much of what I gathered I looked through a variety of Wikis, FAQs, guides and walkthroughs... which are quite detailed, yet I've not found a single one of them has a complete list of, well, everything I managed to look up that is otherwise spread among various pioneers so to speak, with a few errors spotted now and then too.
I thankfully had ample time to read and experiment to gather and see what works and what doesn't to a point, and it really is a lot to go through from the getgo, much that is also easy to miss along the way even THEN. GBA games tend to draw me in easy, so if I can help any with that for an Ogre Saga channel a little, that'll be just peachy.
I think I can call myself an expert on LUCT, after all it's been 20 years playing this particular game. KOL I played for the first time last year (and that's why I made this channel, the first video is just the story of KOL) so your help would be very well appreciated!

I knew of ending A+ but as I play emulated with speed up...I tend to uh...go over the time limit
plus I tend to play finding everything and grinding...might have to figure out a way to go through without having to grind (more so without cheats as I play with retro achievements. With that in play hardcore, you can't use save states or cheats, as the program to go with the emulator disables them)
Any recommendations, I know knights, ninja,s and swordmasters are pretty op last I recall (I also love me some birdmen )
Great question, because I didn't have the patience to do the A+ ending myself (they got the speed wrong in this game in my opinion). But if I were to try, I would do the following:
-a lot of patience to wait for the animations, if you play with increased frames you won't get the necessary time. Maybe a switch on your controller to speed up an animation and then go back to normal speed?
-I would avoid the quests of the weak secondary characters (like the fairy) but I would do the mages because the summon magic will be useful
-always focus on the leader with all units to finish the fight fast
-prioritize classes like mage, ninja and wingmen (I like 2 with bows) to compensate for terrain elevation and avoid unnecessary deaths
-put Alphonse as a knight and in the first fights support him to kill as many characters alone to reach the necessary 50, the final opponents are very strong and usually have healing, making it very difficult at this point
-opponents automatically follow the level of your strongest character, so after alphonse has done 50 kills he will probably be much higher than the rest of the party, at that moment you go to training and match everyone else on the same level (equip everyone with bow or magic and make them attack alphonse from a distance to not run the risk of counterattack). As you will only focus on the leaders of each phase (and at most on some healer) I don't think you need grinding after that
-if the opportunity to drop teleport equipment appears, it can be useful. Try to drop the ring of dead to make the lich as soon as possible, he will be your main attack force and especially defense
-It may be interesting to acquire some emblems to strengthen attack and defense
But the biggest tip I could give you is: have ONLY 6 characters in your total battalion, because if you put all 6 in the battle of those stages that you need to divide the army, the second battle will be skipped and you save time.
I believe that's how I would do it, friend.

I use 6 troops instead of 8 troops. It helps to speed up the battle. And I only grind the troops that I am sure I will use it in final battle. It is still difficult but its possible.
If the ending of A+ is the beginning of Let Us Cling Together, how the ending A is considered tha Cannonical ending?
The only difference between these endings is the extra scene from the beginning of LUCT, the rest of the events are the same.
Oh oh and also can I ask you something? I wanted to know something about Let us Cling together.
In this game's A+ ending, we see Alphonse (Now known as Lans) mounted on a skeleton horse or something. Does that mean Let us Cling Together introduces mounted units to the game? Does Lans fight with a horse?
Unfortunately no, the horses are just decorative. Let us cling together is much older than Knight of Lodis, but it's an idea that I would also like to see adopted, I'm sure it would be a very interesting mechanic!
@@WarrenReport Oh I thought let us cling together was a newer game. If it was made after knight of Lodis, they would have definitely made it a thing like I can feel it.
I am new to this series and I don't know if there is gonna be anymore future releases but if there will ever be, I hope this gets considered!

In the tactical game style it is Knight of Lodis and Let us Cling Together. The other 3 have a much more unique style of gameplay that is hard to describe.
Tactics Ogre Let us Cling Together is the most famous and acclaimed of the 5 titles, and for that reason there was a remake for the PSP and the definitive version last year, called Tactics Ogre Reborn.

Ending A, as it is the canonical ending of the story, has most of the cutscenes and is relatively simple to do. The perfect ending is the A+ but it is so demanding in the requirements that it makes it very difficult to watch just 1 more cutscene.
Finished the game today and got the B ending , though i didn't even know how 😅
