    I used the same dulux trade diamond satinwood on my skirting boards in a larger room and it went on really well. It was a 20m squared room so a lot of area to cover. I found it very easy to work with even though this was my first time doing any sort of DIY painting.
    I will be using the rest in a paint sprayer to do the 3 doors and 4 build in wardrobe doors once I have removed and prepped them, as it is a nice clean bright white.

    Hi justin, my local supplier has just started stocking caparol products, so they gave me some sample pots to try, the haftprimer is an adhesion primer and undercoat is absolutely brilliant gies on like a dream, couldn't scratch it after half hour on un prepped gloss, i iam going in tomorrow to get a 2.5 litres that will last me a month easy as the 25ml pot did approx 20 metres torus 5 inch skirts, 4 door frames both sides and still about 5 mls left. There satin nice finish but only 20% sheen level would probably pass for eggshell, gloss not tried yet. Anyway keep up the good work Justin.

    Hi Justin. Will you re coat the woodwork again with the eggshell as it us water based and how do you tackle the walls after!! Tape top of skirting or cut emulsion in

    I take it the walls are going to be papered after?

    hi justin - so, could you paint a first coat of satin on skirting and get the paint right into the edges and then do walls - and then, once the walls are complete, do the second coat on skirting to cut back in? - if that makes sense!

      Hi, it's not a conventional way and it would take longer, but I can see your logic. Generally I undercoat the skirting, caulk the gaps, paint the wall, then paint the skirting. The method in this video was to showcase the paint 👍

    i have skirting boards already painted 15 yrs ago. It is in ok condition. Would you recommend a wood primer first before a top coat?

      Only to make it whiter and cover any exposed wood, but either way, make sure you give it a scratch/rub down

    Hi Justin, do you have to sand down the primer before the top coat ? Thanks

    • @JBTV
      @JBTV  2 роки тому +1

      Some people will, but you really don't need to. If your primer went on smoothly, then so will your top coat 👍

    The thing that bugs me is all these waterbased say they’re environmentally friendly but then you wash all that liquid plastic down the sink into the water system.
    With oil based paint the brush is kept in a vapour box until it’s no good then thrown in the bin. We’re told not to empty white spirit into sinks or drains incase it enters the water system

    you can't get 2 coats in a day with diamond satinwood but it is good stuff tougher than their solvent satin but jono's aqua guard satin is better. im not all that impressed with dulux solvent paints their not as durable as crown solvent paints
