Lol, you tried everything. I was waiting for you to say in your relaxing voice, "so then, I just made a spear and went full on native on those tight lip rascals". That was a cool video man, Im subbed!
Wow. This actually makes me feel better as a fisherman. The days I get skunked, I always second guess myself. This gives me reassurance that it ain’t all about me.
Good videos. Being able to see the interaction between the fish and the bait under water is really something. More videos like this, I think ppl would love to see them
Hey man! Just wanted to say I love all your videos and you inspire me so much! Might be asking a lot but you should make some merch with your Ace logo and Jesus on there as well! Would love to buy one of those!! Keep grinding man love your vids!
It does not matter what time of year or bait - I do not have fishing success. Some local guys who always have success took me along once - and nobody caught fish until I went home alone - then they had success. But I don't recall being around you this day.
Pro tip: downsize that hook and use a 4 inch straight worm in spring and/or in clear water. Also, in colder water, a little jiggle is much more appealing to them than the normal bigger jerking motion. You have to match their cold water metabolism which makes them really cautious about expending energy for a meal. Something moving slower, but with triggering action ( slight constant wiggle ) gets the job done more often than not. They're not "skittish" - they're just cold. :) Tell ya what though - like you, I would have thought that the live bait would have at least gotten a few bites. Pretty weird.
More videos on this please I think this is so cool and I’ve had a lot of fun spring bass fishing myself and it’s so awesome to see them react to your baits
I love all the videos you make. Really inspires me to work hard and save enough money to put up a business and stop working so I can go fishing like you guys. Keep it up!
Very nice ace! Some classic largemouth fishing Is the way to go for sure! I know you said the water was cool but since there were so many maybe the fish were in a pre-spawn mode. Sweet vid! Happy Easter 👍
Yep, they were! I don't know about lakes where you are but around here in the spring we have about a week time where the fish go into total lock-jaw even though the weather is getting warm. My dad and brother went back to this spot like a week later and killed 'em!
Hello there! Your videos are really cool! I really like seeing you catch all the seafood creatures around the world! Keep up the good work! Your almost to 1M subscribers!
If you ever do the underwater cams in this spot again ya should try flippin some tubes. That would be cool to watch in the water. Bobber fishin/jiggin some shiners would be sick too
I like the underwater footage. It was not too blurry. The water is so pretty here in Idaho. I am from the Post Falls, CD'A, Rathdrum, Twin Lakes & Spirit lake area.
Cameras actually hurts your chances when fishing. Of course they don't know what the camera is, but the camera gives off a light that we can't see that agitates them. My fish at home can tell if I'm using a camera on them from all the way across the house (a big house) and will hide or stop and stare depending on the type of fish. That's why you had 2 bass come strait to the camera. They were checking to see if it was safe. Once they decided it was, they went back to their business. It's a beautiful video, but they know you're there because of the camera.
Nice video man! I was interested in possibly doing this where I am but being that it's ocean with seaweed and rocks my luck would be a lost camera and poor footage. Cool stuff :) Subbed
Newly addicted to all of your trail cam and GoPro videos! You’ve got to visit some of the woods and lakes in Arkansas- we’ve got gators in the southern lakes and lots of bears in the Ouachita Mountains!
I love these kind of fishing videos. Not only is it the brutal reality of fishing when they simply aren’t biting but also it’s the submerged go pros showing us live the bass and their actual reactions to the bait in real time. These videos are a great example of how the “fish just ain’t bitin” statement really rings true. It’s awesome to see him jigging and switching to live bait because it shows that sometimes switching it up doesn’t help and you can’t deny that in this video as the proof is in the pudding. With that being said, I am curious to know what would’ve happened if he threw on some spinner bait or a top water. More content creator’s should produce videos like this with submerged cameras so we can get a good look at what works, what doesn’t work, and also importantly, the bass’s behavior to the lures and just their behavior in general. Also…😳a bass not eating live night crawlers wiggling on the lake floor?? Not even the big live bait ball he threw in on his hook!?!? Bass truly are an interesting species lmao. Great video!
Hi Ace, Happy Easter! I’ve been a subscriber for about 3 years now, and I love every video you put out. Watching ur vids during these quarantine days keeps me so entertained that i forgot i’m even on lockdown haha! My friends and I are taking a road trip from Chicago, then stopping in Boise and Portland next month. Where’s a good place we can do some fishing? Any charters you recommend? Keep up the good work!!
I've seen it few times with large mouth bass & many times with peacock bass. When they're in this state, the only thing that's going to make them strike is live bait that swims towards them. Even then, I'm not sure how good shiners are at doing that on account that when I've seen this behavior, I was using live fish like baby crappie & cichlids as bait.
Bass are pretty dumb, could’ve been the bait, time of year, but you could cast 5 times at the same one that you tried to set the hook on and missed. Eventually you’ll get it
What you call "lockjaw" is when the barometers moving needle often foretells coming weather systems that adversely affect fishing. While pressure changes can trigger fish activity, low-pressure systems, like major cold fronts, can shut it down. ( They lose appetite ) . The reason fish get lockjaw has more to do with the after-effects of the weather change than the actual air pressure, however. For example, when a spring cold front cools down water temperatures in a shallow bay where panfish were feeding, the bite grinds to a halt. The fish may even evacuate, heading for deep water nearby.
Good one thanks fishing for red sea trout in shallow waters ,I've found if you let first one go, especially if others following it will flash it's fright colours to warn the others , they bright red blue spots ,in fright they go light pink almost white ,have watched them stay light pink n flash the red , try release em 5o ft away sometimes they will either piss off or calm down so not to spook the other's. Thanks well done
Hi there. Very interesting video. Love it! Not sure if you’ll pick up my comment / question but, I would love to film underwater in our frigid rivers up here in Alberta. Do you think I can use a GoPro 4, and can water be too cold for this type of camera? When you filmed the fish going after your bait, did you just drop the camera in the water? What kind of settings does it need? Thanks!
