I Dropped An Underwater Camera 500ft Down Attached To My Jig And Hooked Up! *Catch, Clean, & Cook*

- Ive Always wondered what it would look like to attach an in-line camera to my line and watch fish eat my bait or jig. In this video I head offshore deep into the Gulf of Mexico with @thefishingpublic9389 for another exciting slow pitch Jigging trip where we catch all kinds of different tasty bottom fish. During the trip I decided to tie on the @GoFishCam and drop it down with a jig attached to the other end so I could see how fish react to it and was really surprised how it looked way down there! After a fun day out on the water I take my Yellow edge grouper that I caught back to the house for a delicious Catch, clean, and cook.

Hope y’all are enjoying the longer length videos, Should I drop the camera down again with live or dead bait?? Maybe snapper fishing?
Try both. Can’t hurt. Love your content & Tite Lines!!!
Definitely like the camera drops any way you do it, and the longer format works well too. Keep up the good work, you're on your way to 10 or 20x the followers.
Maybe not so deep so it's more visible but yes for sure!
@@majorrhodes2870 agreed lol this was my first time trying it out and really wasn’t sure what the lighting/clarity situation was gonna be. I’ll try 100-200ft next time 😅
Ohhhh man! I forgot to mention, I saw some deep drop footage. They usually put some sort of light in addition to the camera, it provides a lot more visibility! I would absolutely love it to see more deep drop footage with long tails, yellowedge, etc.!
Definitely a great weather day, great catch, great company and great food! Glad your wife is coming around to the great taste of our natural resources!! Love the camera drop also…yes, more please!
Yessir good times indeed. I’m glad she is too!
I absolutely can’t believe how calm the sea is. I didn’t think it was possible. Every time I’ve gone out a couple of miles off shore, the waves have been at least 4 to 6 feet high. And to catch 2 sea bass on one toss??? I surrender.😁
That would be a life goal to be able to fish on a trip like that! Beautiful day, beautiful boat and friends, it doesn't get any better than that!!
100% agree! To this comment!! My goal too
I can't believe how easy it is to catch all sorts of species in the Gulf. Amazing.
Brings back some good childhood memories. Lived in a house on the beach in Ft. Lauderdale, and some mornings the sea would be calm and smooth as glass. Just incredible to behold. Awesome outing! Now I've got the itch.
Great job on the video Capt Collier and a great day with Capt Boe and crew!
I get the feeling that your wife doesn't really like fish but she is just being a good wife and supporting you. :-)
You may be right. Definitely makes me happy to know she’ll atleast try it now!
Like the longer videos!!! Another great one!! Keep it up and we will keep watching!!!!!!
Awesome thank you!
Nice to have friends/ fishing buddies like that with such as nice boat and pristine fishing conditions. You are blessed my friend! Another fine quality video. I am not familiar with that species of sea bass.
Love fishing with Bill! Great video brotha- always a treat to fish with Capt Strange🤙
Man he's a trip to fish with! Good times as always, Capt Boe always delivers
Good stuff.. Those camera shots were really sick! Wifey didn't seem to excited about the fish to me 😂
That yellow edge was an awesome catch for you Capt. Great vid as always
I was happy to see it float up for sure, hoping to upgrade to a big bucket mouth soon but we’ll take this one for now 😁
Awesome catch and a beautiful day on the water. Appreciate you sharing the video.
Finally a video I’ve been wanting to see on my feed noone done it camera on the slow pitch well done sir
I’d never seen it done before either that’s why I wanted to try it. I noticed it really effected the action of the jig, but obviously jacks don’t care lol
enjoyed this flick,, it reminded me the decades ago me and a few friends bottom fishing for blackfish tog,, i always liked fluke better but the tog and sea bass off the new jersey coast was great eats.. nowadays it is way too expensive for the regulations and limits. here nyc nj coast area. nothing like fresh fish ..i might try a few trips but it must be expensive these years.. i haven't salt watered in a couple decades.. amazing how fast times have changed... anyone this warmed my sea spirits,, going to the super market fish store tomorrow lol.. ty for sharing
Your wife a trooper you can tell she aint about it but she loves you lol
Great video... glad to see your wife enjoying your catch!!
I really enjoyed watching your vid. Thanks for posting.... 🐟🐟🎣 👍 🏴🇬🇧
wow that looks so wonderful, that longtail seabass @ 3:15 - 3:18, how the colors reflect in the sunlight when you turn that fish side to side.
i like the cam in the water, interesting to see the fish while catching them. i just had an idea, how about using a landing net and a cam to catch the fish ? like that the person who is fishing can choose each single fish without catching those endangered fish. i can picture its to stressfull for those endangered fish to get pulled out with a hook in their mouth and then thrown back into the water, but a cam with a landing net can help to single out the fish to catch from the fish to not catch.
That is the clearest and calmest body of salt water I've ever seen.
It was pretty incredible. We rarely see it like that.
That double was pretty sick 🤙🏽
This is such a well done video keep this up and I promise you are going to blow up on UA-cam. Please take me fishing with you when you do 😂
Good'Day Capt. Collier.. As always another fun & entertaining video that makes me remember my youth fishing the GOM.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great day of fishing , calm sea and great catches ; much envy here man , KUDOS
Looks like it was a nice day to be on the water!
It definitely was!
I’m land-locked in Missouri - you’re living my dream. Subbed.
What does Land locked mean sorry ik I’m dumb lol
Very cool pics. Great job!!!!!
I somehow got here while looking at the Titan accident, which took my to the Byford Dolphin accident which then took me to early diving bells, which took me to playful dolphins which then brought up fishing channels, so here I am Captain Collier. Nice video by the way.
Well that’s an interesting rabbit hole you went down but I’m glad you did. Thanks!
Liked. Beautiful scenery!
Back in the 70's I had a little diesel boatwith a100# box n it. I fished the middle grounds off tarpon springs south to the keys. I fished with rod and reel rather than a commercial rail mounted rig. I usually stayed between 20 and 60 fathoms, but some days I just got too tired to reel then up. I remember filling the box in two days once. Of course back then 20 to 40# grouper were pretty common
One of your best! Love it brotha
Much appreciated
Tile fish dang I never had a better fish. Great catch great video thank you.
New subscriber I"ve been binge watching for a couple of days now. Great content.
Awesome, glad your liking the content!
Ya'all did good!
Nice run capt ❤
Thanks!
Snapper is never out of season😈😈
I enjoyed the video, I liked the honesty of the wife as well. Let me recommend some extra virgin olive oil because it handles high heat without burning and add butter as you place your fillets. I would love to taste how good this fish is. Thanks for sharing.
Morning Capt, hope you’re having a great day.
Morning! You as well
That's what I'm talkin bout son!!👍 Love the clean and most the eat👍😍 you ever want to fish the WA Rivers for salmon hit me up👍
Great job Capt! Looked like y’all had a blast subbed
I appreciate it!
Love these! Glad your wife is finally eating fish.
Me too! And thanks for tuning in
Loved this video, really gives an insight into their behavior
It also looks like greater amberjack has been opened, so I hope I'm able to fish the east coast sometimes as west coast winters are hard from shore
Dang good video, keep them coming ✅💥
Thanks, Will do 😎
capt. this is real fishin good stuff an keepon with da wife shes commin around on da fish eatin..stay safe godbless..good vid..
Heck yea brother, I go to the Bird sanctuary all the time, I love Dauphin Island!
Really cool that's my dream to go out and catch those beauty's . I usually go out on 15 foot swells 26 miles out for a wreck fishing and I once caught a 30 in fluke/flounder on that trip. LOVE your vids you should send down live bait with the camera.!!!!!
Another good one Cap! Yes, more under water coverage, lengths are good and keep the cooking!
Thanks man, more to come. I’m starting to like the cooking segments as well
Yall wit cha fishin Poe keep watchin.
Wow thanks😊
Great vid man!
Thanks!
Yep all in!
😎 🎣
It looks freaky down there
Awesome. Electric reels have come a long way from the days when I was fishing for tiles.
Oh I bet they have. I’ve only recently started using electric reels so I’m not sure what they were like back then
@@CaptCollier Bulky. Cheesy electrical connections. Weak. Technology rocks.
Really liked the deep fish cam stuff. Thanks.👍
Enjoyed the video, nice catch that day
Glad you enjoyed it
God Blessed this beautiful day! Beautiful weather, wonderful catches! Awesome colors! Keep up the great work! Thank you for sharing!
You should use a descender divice to lover the fish to the sea floor for release. In some places it is mandatory. Good video!
Yes keep dropping down the camera that was killer. Thank you Captain great content....
Can do! Glad your enjoying it
My swimming pool doesn’t get that flat. What a day!
Great video. Nice catches. Looks delicious!
Thank you very much!
Dude, you're cutting straight toward your hand!
How you don’t have 1m subs I’ll never know…great videos w lots of good information
Thanks man, hopefully in time
Never caught Seabass or Grouper, but I love wearing the fool out of Snapper. Always head out from Fort Morgan, few years back we hit a huge floating grass patch and pulled in a bunch of Mahi Mahi, now that was a good fish fry.
@9:37
What's down there underneath y'all??? The fish you hooked just then is swimming over some sort of structure, or is it the camera??? I tried to see what is visible in the "Pretty Cool Footage" but it's kinda brief and can just barely make out a bunch of symmetrical cubes...
Just thought that was pretty weird to see on camera whilst enjoying the video. I'm wondering if anyone else noticed or if I'm just seeing stuff.
Anyway, GREAT Video! Thank You for Sharing!
We were fishing over an underwater pipeline/wellhead. They are pretty large and attract a lot of fish, I know it is pretty difficult to see it because of how dark it is. Thanks for watching!
@@CaptCollier I'm only seeing that you replied to my question NOW! as of this moment. Thank You for answering! On to the next one.
❤Thanks Again. F'n AWESOME!😁👍
YAMMY !!!!!!!!
amazing big big fish strike my brother 👍👍👍
Very salty water cooled to below freshwater ice temperature will cool your fish faster than ice will. Immediate temperature saturation due to 100 percent contact is key.
Hey partner, not sure if she’s into the fish that much… but she’s sure into you!😅😂
Love the videos . I need to get my butt to the ocean to fish some saltwater
Thanks, and definitely!
I have never been on ocean water that calm. Wow.
We don’t see it like that very often either!
Good job man
Honest question… I’m new to fishing and I’ve never been deep sea fishing before. So you’re dropping the jig all the way down to the bottom then basically working it up and down until something bites it or until the hook snags a fish? Looked to me like a little bit of both? Is snagging the fish the point of working the jig?
The slow pitch jigging technique is suppose to mimic an injured bait fish and trigger a bite from a fish. The 4 assist hooks that we normally have rigged in them are to ensure that we don’t pull any hooks or lose a fish halfway up from 500+ ft of water. The intention is not to “snag” them but sometimes the hooks will get them anywhere in their body when they try to eat it
You should do a video where you interview some folks from Alabama Fish & Wildlife about why the catch limits are structured the way they are. You'll make better content going forward. These guys know what they're doing, they love the sport as much as you do, and they're putting limits out there to ensure that we can all enjoy the sport going forward.
Camera equipment and the nature scenes are 👌 good job Captain ✅
a still ocean like that scares me more than waves. its monster of the depths stillness, i'd have a heart attack if a whale just strolled up lol
😂😂
Brave or crazy. Lol. Thanks for sharing
Probably both haha thanks for tuning in
First time viewer so idk where you're from but fish and spaghetti is a normal thing. Also glad you got the sauce already mixed in the noodles before serving haha
We’re fishing the Gulf of Mexico out of dauphin island, Al. Never knew it was a thing until now! Lol
Try a very simple beer batter next time. Easy to make and perfect for fillets. Goes great with Modelo too.
Nice job 👍
Dang, that lemon pepper grouper making your wife smile!
I’m happy to see it 😃
I like the camera and tell your wife not to be scared, she is doing great!
I’ll be dropping it again next time I go offshore. And she’s coming around haha
OK had to come back and finish the video due to the weather but DAMN Im chomping at the bit to get my boat out and get on some big snappers. I know where the spot is to get on some Mahi and well. Excellent Video as always capt looks like it was hella fun.
We need this weather to chill out! It’s been sooo bad, I’m ready to get back out as well
Great video!
Thanks!
Grouper is the best to me. Great vid.
Couldn't agree more!
Love all your vids! Ever do any trolling with the blackjack? I learn so much from your vids and would love to see how you do your rigging
Thanks! I haven’t done any trolling yet on the BJ. Plan to once we get some more pretty weather days though!
That was an awesome video.
Thanks man! It was a fun one for sure
Nothing like morning glass for a fisherman
You learn pretty early on to always have spare gaffs onboard. LOL
Haha we did have an extra thankfully
Cool cool cool!
Thanks 😃
You got 5 what on the boat?! 😮
Calm seas gets you there quick!
Definitely helps!
Thank you for bothering with the deep water camera shots! I thought in one sequence that there was a second fish chasing the hooked one for quite a way.
Watching the other fish swim up with their hooked buddies not knowing how to help is a bit heartbreaking. Remember these fish are Gods living creatures. Cool footage
Help? They are hoping to get a meal.
What model is the first rod? thanks and regards
What brand of rods are you using TIA
Great job on the groceries! Trade u some bluefin for some of those yellow seabass! Keep up good work teaching mamma to eat some fish! My Mississippi mamma tears some fish up!
Whewwww I’d sure take ya up on that. Havnt had BF in a minute! It’s good to see her liking it finally
We catch it like this from time to time. The drawback is there is no breeze so it is extra hot
You are right about that. I’d take that over rough and windy though
Got ma 5 jiggerz on board.🤣🤣😁😁👉👌🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟☝️
Lol you know what I meant
collier means necklace in French; I used to fish cod of newfoundland with hand 100pound line- no rod, the jig is a pound and some jig, stainless stell 8 inch long; the largest cod was 6 feet long, 60 pounds
Poor girl is terrible shy, isn't she. The fish looks delicious!
She is, but she’s coming around! Lol
