Because let’s be honest other black women on here are pro black and don’t talk about other races. And yes I’m a black female. And I love Anna.

i wore a dress almost exactly like the one in the thumbnail to go pay a cell bill ('09), man was so impressed he complimented and assumed I was going next door to the nail shop. When. told him I wasn't and he saw how pitiful my nails looked, he said you deserve to have your nails look as good as everything else. Gave me money and another nice, classy, non raunchy compliment. Never seen him again.

Yes - I'm in my 70s and still obsessed with silks...love the blouses, scarves, skirts, pants and sweaters--and good blends. I have a lot of clothing and only buy silk now. I never pass it up. Thank you for this video...from Grandma Bunny in Phoenix.

You should show us what kind of underwear and bra's you wear with these light color clothes. Especially with the satin top, the pictures you show are of women without bra's and it got me a bit worried.

I find that some women don’t know the type of underwear for certain outfits. They wear a thing for everything when they should wear spank some time.
The color of the bra logically will be nude but how about the type of it. Should it be strapless, can it have nice lace details or not, what type of underwear? String, Brazilian cut? And again should it just be functional and plane or can it be sexy at the same time without showing through?
I've also noticed women including myself that they don't know how to choose the right underwear and they destroy a perfect look with backfat or belly fat showing just because the size wasn't right.

Honestly really appreciate you posting these type of videos. Im 19 and intern at a firm with very affluent people and often times get invited to lunches/dinners with my coworkers and bosses and never know how to act or dress around them. Your videos have helped me so much, to the point where I just got promised a job after graduation because they liked my drive and personality and the fact that I fit in well with the others.

@@carolesteinberg7463 Agreed. BUT!! I've searched off and on for the past year - Even online, they cannot be found, not decent ones. No one has even heard of caftans in any of the stores and shops here - and I live currently in a huge city with lots of shopping variety.
I’ve heard to wear matching loungewear sets. Like the sweater and sweatpants match. Idk tho

There is actually now WASHABLE SILK... it is about the same price (sometimes even cheaper), much softer, less wrinkly, and you can machine or hand wash it. 💜
You can hand wash any silk if you know how. I've done so for many years

@@laurasebastian2822 hi Laura, thank you. Actually, dry cleaning isn't best for silk. It can be used, but the best is to hand wash to preserve quality. THEN, it is machine wash on delicate cycle or hand wash cycle, whichever has the shortest spin cycle, or dry cleaning. So here are a few tips:
1. Use a detergent made for silk/wool. If not, you can use a very mild soap/shampoo, such as baby shampoo. The mild soap should be added to disolve in water first, before you put in your items. Never use bleach or anything that has it.
2. Wash in cold or lukewarm water. Hot temperature is bad for silk. That goes for drying silk in the dryer too - a big no, because high heat will dull and weaken it. You can dry it in the dryer only on heatless, air fluff setting, but best to check #6.
3. Wash silk by itself, do not mix with any other items. And, if you have a few silk items to wash, don't mix colors, they transfer.
4. To wash, put silk into the soapy water you prepared to completely soak it, and gently swish the sheets around. Don't scrub or twist, it will damage the fiber. Don't soak silk for more than few minutes.
5. To rinse, refill your tub/sink/whatever with clean cool water and move your silk item around. You may have to rinse it a couple of times to get rid of the soap.
*a few drops of hair conditioner could be added to make it softer.
6. To dry, gently squeeze out any water. Do not twist. You can roll your silk in a towel to help remove excess water. Hanging silk to dry is best, but avoid direct sunlight or a wooden rack. You can also lay your item flat on a towel.
7. To iron, make sure your silk is about 80% dry and iron inside out, on silk setting when it's slightly damp. Remember, heat is damaging, do not iron when completely dry. Always best to use a protective layer (pressing cloth) between your silk item and the iron. It burns easily, don't keep your iron in one place for more than a few seconds.
*a way to smooth out wrinkled silk is to hang it in the bathroom while you take a shower. The steam will do it. 🌞

I love espadrilles too but I'm facing an issue and want to share , maybe I can get some tips n advices .😊
Whenever I wear them I feel they start sticking to my feet bcz I start sweating. And because of that they are always left with foot stains which looks untidy , sticky and later on smelly too 😟😳
I try to keep my feet dry and make sure I never put wet feet but still it happens 😒😳 any tips ? ?

Definitely a big NO to silk. The slightest bit of moister leaves a glaring stain. And if you are sitting for any period of time and it is hot, you can be sure when you stand up there will be a big stain. The only way I would wear silk is as an undergarment.
Totally agree. Only wear in summer if you live in a place with no humidity and/or have no sweat glands.

Well, the silkworms are killed with steam or hot water or something.
So if you care about ethical treatment of invertebrates even...you would have to skip silk.
Actually, you would have to skip most clothes then, because cotton and polyester and stuff also come with horrendous environmental costs...and does it really matter, if the animals are killed/harmed directly or indirectly? They are no less dead, if they get their habitats destroyed or polluted.
It’s an enormously complicated topic and just saying: ‚it comes from an animal, I won’t use it‘ doesn’t really solve the issue, imo.
In the end, sticking to a capsule wardrobe and just limit your consumption/buy second hand (designer) clothes will probably do more, to limit your impact than strictly avoiding certain materials, while still buying masses of cheap ‚fast fashion‘.
I live in Florida and one drop of sweat on your silk and you are not a hot mess you're a wet mess. Absolutely no silk EVER!

Hi lady you're so right! What I do now is, I buy the fabrics and send it to skilled taylor, she is awsome. She reproduces wherever I ask her for and it still be on budget.

honestly i am a hard worker as in qualified baker and housekeeping/cleaner of mansions which are dirty and physical. please let me know how i can sustain a certain amount of class while employed at these types of jobs

Satin is type of fabric weave not a type of fabric - a satin weave can made of silk, polyester, nylon etc.

Maybe it’s people who feel misled by her channel “how to look expensive” it implies you only “look” expensive but with affordable items. Not everyone can buy a dress worth hundreds of dollars let alone two in different colors. I have such a difficult time finding these outfits. HELP lol I must not be shopping in the right places. These are exactly the types of clothes I look for but can't seem to find
Depending on where you are, check for classic brand and most of them will have on their basics pieces lole those, in USA check JCrew Ann Taylor brands like that not designer but have good quality.

I get paranoid about white bottoms, so I rarely buy or wear them- I do have a white gypsy skirt, but like I say, I don’t often wear it... Actually, I had a thought; could you talk about the importance of dressing right with colour, especially as it relates to skin tone/ size?
Even though I’m slightly tan, I’m not a fan of warm colours- I always feel like they bring out redness or blotchiness. I love blues ( *especially* teal, a deep blue-green, turquoise & duck-egg), blacks & neutrals- the closest I get to warm colours is burgundy & plum/ aubergine- I have some pink items, but not many- I don’t wear yellow (I did have a *pastel* yellow T once) or orange (I only have one or two items in apricot).

Silk is a natural material while satin is synthetic, so silk should be cooler for summer. The real question here is where do you find such clothes? Do you tailor make them? I 'm seriously considering the idea to start tailoring my clothes.

Zara manufactured her clothes by forced labour industries ( Uygourian people are forced and abused) Ladies I don't think that's classy and elegant and has to stop. 1. I am much more modest of a dresser in a modest profession, but still would like to wear a wrap dress. Is it ok to sew the hem together so the dress doesn’t show so much thigh?
2. What are your thoughts on tans for women with fair skin? Is there such s thing as a subtle fake tan; or does everyone end up looking like a burnt orange handbag?
Katherine, fashionmumblr is a youtuber/ instagrammer who uses fake tans has fair skin, & doesn't look orange. Perhaps you could check her out on youtube. I think she has a video on fake tans. (If not, it's definitely on Instagram)
Katherine Margeson dear there are wrap dresses that don’t show too much thigh so you won’t have to sew the hem. There are some very classy wrap dresses.
Also there are great tanning brands if you choose the shade light/ medium ( not medium/ dark) and the light/ medium shade is made for pale skin tones. With the latest tanning brands you will not look orange at all, it’s a very very subtle brown colour on pale skin.
Those days of orange tans are over the latest tan brands like Bondi Sands, Le Tan, St Tropez tan , these are natural looking tans.

Silk and satin is not worn in the summer it heats up ... cotton is usually worn for the summer it cools the body

Real silk, not polyester, have been the choice of material for royals and affluents throughout Asia as it adapts to body temperature and is very breathable. Don't confuse it with synthetic silk...

I actually never take any of my silk items to the dry cleaners. What I do is hand wash in cold water using a gentle soap and then let the item(s) air dry.
