For all the theories that Ms. Lovat needed a sacrifice: Ms. Lovat wasn't trying to sacrifice Coraline to keep Wybie safe. If she wanted to feed the monster that *killed her sister* she would have rented the place out to families with kids all the time. She wanted to starve the Beldam out. She made sure she couldn't get her hands on any kids and even sealed the main link between worlds, plus she locked the doll away. The reasons why the Jones family got the apartment was because: 1) They "forgot" to mention they had a kid 2) Ms Lovat really needed the money 3) She was sure that the Beldam couldn't do much by now...until the doll went missing 4) She's going senile. She would *HATE* the Beldam too much to help her in any way.
I always thought that Wybie's grandma decided to finally allow a child to live at the Pink Palace when she noticed that Wybie was getting to be the right age/level of curiosity to become a target himself, and she was hoping to offer the Other Mother another child as a sacrifice to protect him.

I've also seen a theory that the Cat is Wybie's dad. He sounds black (and he's a black cat), is obviously fond of Wybie, Wybie's parents are never mentioned (at least in the movie), and he certainly doesn't like the Beldam. CZsWorld ahh I mean not the history of the other father but it would be like a therory video why did the other father try resisting the other mother idk just like that character in the movie felt like it was the best part in my opinion
Ok I have a theory. So at the end when the family and friends are having lemonade in the ground you can see the belldams face in the garden at the closing shot of the film meaning coraline never actually escaped and she is still trapped. Another theory is that the last scene where the cat is going through the portal. The portal is only open if the belldam is alive meaning she is still out there
the first theory idk where you got that from xd and second theory the bedlam is dead, but the other world is still open, so the cat can still go to the other world but there won’t be anyone there
I prefer the theory that the Beldam was an actual person a long time ago and owned the house so that's why the garden is her face but then she fell down the well, which is the portal to the other world
i don’t think the beldam really has a significance to the other world because the cat once said that there are portals to that world that the beldam doesn’t know so that means she didn’t create the world itself and has little control to its, she is just using the place.
She probably just got the one who was easiest to persuade plus she could only do one at a time since the world had to be perfect for the child the other twin wouldn’t find it that interesting bc it’s what the sister likes not her plus once her sister went missing I’m pretty sure the mother wouldn’t be able to make her love her and forget that her sister is literally missing
“Wybie was technically only made for the movie and wasn’t in the book so he doesn’t have any history. So remember to subscribe to the channel.” *video ends*
I SWEAR I remember Coraline getting along with Wybie in the beginning! I have this really vivid memory of them getting along until wybie makes a joke abt coralline’s parents not loving her. Like- I feel like it makes more sense why she’s so mean to him despite wanted friends that aren’t boring and wants him to be silent in the other world.
@@kathrynhamilton860 I personally dont think she was abused. In the book it mentions that they were pretty poor (I think) so her parents tried everything they could to make some more money. Due to working all the time, they didn't have enough time for Coraline, so they didnt really so anything with her. In the movie, her mom tries to make time for her even though she does get annoyed, and her actual mom does end up buying the orange gloves for Coraline even when money was tight, showing she actually did care I think Coraline just didnt like Wybie at first but I could always be wrong, idk
@@kathrynhamilton860 Yeah that is true. But even when they did abuse her by neglecting her, I don't think they meant to. They were poor, as was apparent in the movie, so they were trying to provide for their family Abusive or not, they were trying (Also I'm sorry if I've sounded rude or something in these comments I dont want to fight with you at all and I'm sorry if I came across that way I just wanted to share my thoughts and opinions, even though they were unneeded)
It’s interesting that the button-eyed dopplegangers fade away into nothing and the only thing that remains is their clothes. It makes me wonder what if at some stage the “other bobinsky” tried to escape into the real world but faded away leaving nothing but some clothing and so because only her rats can go into the real world she sent them to take back his clothes to avoid any suspicion and put them on pretending to be him with the limited time she has left. (Just a theory)
I think Wibie didn't have friends outside Coraline because his grandma doesn't allow him to be out much and definitely not so far as the city grounds. She was traumatized by the loss of her sister so she's paranoid of loosing his grandkid.
It’s so dark and twisted the fact that the Other Wybie was “killed” by the Beldam and his clothes hanging on top of the house makes it even creepier and tragic.
2:44 - 2:51 Or that he's dead. I mean some widows keep their married name after the husband's death. It all depends on WHEN the husband dies though for her to be Ms. Lovat, early in her son's(or daughter's, some men take the wife's name when they marry) life or before Wybie's birth.
I don’t know where I heard it, but someone said that ms lovait let’s Coraline’s family move in because Wybe is now old enough to be the other mother’s target
@@annathebanana473 what happened to the what's it called I always called him the bag man with the scary face I mean it's been a while since I've seen the movie
What's this? Something CZsWorld himself missed? If you look carefully at the photo of Wybie's great-aunt, you'll see that she has the same hunched posture as he does. Their odd posture is likely a genetic form of scoliosis, or curvature of the spine. (Something that yours truly has a mild form of).
The beldam changed what she thought would please Coraline in regards to Wybie, but we can clearly see that the bravery that the other Wybie shows while saving Coraline is a true aspect of Wybie's personality as the real Wybie saves Coraline and helps her in the real world too.
I've seen comments saying that the other mother could've also been after ms. Lovat...but in the old picture we see ms.lovats sister is the only one with a doll when the other mother could've made the doll double sided or made two, furthermore being twins is probably what frustrates them most (based on ms.lovats look in the old picture) and she would have to create two separate worlds to accommodate each individual sister so for these reasons I think the other mother probably wasn't after ms.lovat as well
7:22 The Other Wybie was created for the sole purpose of killing another child. He appears to have his own conscious, thoughts, and emotions, so its clear to say that he's probably under constant suffering, knowing that his actions are going to inevitably lead to someone getting killed, and him doing anything to stop it would inevitably lead to even more suffering (such as getting his mouth sewn into a permanent smile). Let him have his *only* two seconds of fleeting joy.
But, then it would resort to the less action packed way she did it, by tricking it into thinking it was a picnic, but was actually falling into the well. That, as well as the hand watching her every more for a few days after leaving the other dimension.
Coraline has been one of my favorite movies ever since it came out. Some adults think it's creepy lol...but I think it's a mysterious adventure every time.
I think the chicken mask was used for several things to mean. 1 The other mother used the mitt it was made from to put her hand into, showing again that he is an extension of her powers. 2. He could be intentionally covering his button eyes so that the Other Mother cannot see through them.
You know an adaptation is well done when a character that wasn't even in the original book is added to the movie and fits in so well that a video talking about them 15 years after the fact gets 1.5 million views. Not only did Wybie's addition to the story make sense (Coraline needed someone to talk to) but they made it a character DIRECTLY connected TO the events of the story, even before the audience realizes it. It makes the exposition they give more natural, while adding to the story's mystery, AND creates a sense of emotional catharsis for repeat viewers. Very well done.
I disagree with his ending explanation! I’ve seen the movie a million times and read the books and overall conspiracies on the topic and I feel like the writers added the scene with the cat at the very end to show the connection to the other world was still strong. The reuniting of Ms Lovat and her childhood home portrays a false sense of security to me since you know the other mother will do whatever she can to lure more children! Also, I read or heard a conspiracy about the well being a second portal and when they dropped the hand and key into it, they returned them to the beldam! otherwise known as a “fairy ring” the mushrooms around the well is sometimes seen as a sign of otherworldly presence or evil of some sort
Ok,ok. This is good and all but I have another theory that I can finally share. SO, you know how the cat was like, “she only makes stuff that has a use” or “is what people need to see” why WAS that old little shed that’s in both worlds there? If no one needed it or wanted to see it to be impressed to stay there why was it there? Well, what if it’s a portal as well. You know at the beginning where the beldam changes the doll to coralline and then throws it out a window? It looks like the shed’s window... and in that case... It might also be a portal.
Wybie used to look like a crush I had in secondary school (which is also when I discovered the series). Naturally Wybie became my favourite character along with the cat.
OK, but here's a fun fact. After Wybie crushes The Beldam's hand with a rock, he presumably avenges the great-aunt he never met, because the hand's master (The Beldam) presumably dies of starvation without Coraline and the Ghost Children in the Other World.
One of my theories is that Wybie’s mother died in childbirth or Wybie as a young baby was apart of an accident that killed both of his parents. He must have been young enough (probably a few days old or something) that he didn’t have a name yet and from grief she named him “why were you born” or whyborn/ wybie for short
Still can’t fully get behind this movie. I LOVE the book so much. So it’s really hard for me to accept this as a movie adaptation that can hold a candle to the book. Movie Coraline doesn’t seem like the same girl from the book. The one takeaway I had from the movie was the use of 3D when the door between the worlds opened and the tunnel extended. That’s the only time 3D in a movie actually made me say “Wow.”
Interesting thing about Dopel Wybie in the movie, you can see him actively pretending to enjoy the various shows. He’s distracted, he stalls for time, he’s nodding and tapping slightly off beat to the music and pantomimes. It’s just a good subtle touch that he’s constantly on his guard and knows what the shows really are
At first, I thought that if the Beldam makes a dool of someone, she can control and see them. So, I thought when Coraline threw the doll in the fire, she burnt her parents. She should have been more careful with that though. Like, a witch created a doll of my parents and kidnapped them. We don't know if that doll works different!
Man, I feel bad for other Wybie, even with the harsh restrictions and punishments brought on by the Beldame, he still did what was right and helped Coraline escape, even if it ended with her going back to save her parents and him dying. Much like the real Wybie, Coraline seems to be the only true friend he has, and it's both heartwarming and heartbreaking that he would willingly give up his life to make sure she never had to endure what he did.
I kind of find this funny. As a kid I used to watch this movie at my grandma’s house all the time, I never really knew the story about it and how creepy it really was.
I love the little details and touched they did for wybies design. His make shift helmet of a painted welder’s mask and film lens, his matching skeleton gloves, and an adults fireman coat. Kid clearly has a ton of time to find stuff and rig his own equipment.

@@bunbunshark but it wouldn't because the other mothers can also control wybie 2, and he could knock her out or something to bring her back, it'd be dangerous for coraline, and also he could go after other kidstoo, because the beldam controls her creations as she pleases

So a horror episode of the other father plz
I feel like I already covered him in the other mother video.
Creeper Gang, sorry to tell you this but the other father basically has no history he was like a pumpkin the other mother gave feeling and all human traits to but she still controlled everything he did. He was a good character though for trying to help Coraline by giving her hints to the other mother’s plans for Coraline.
He doesn't really have any history
Hate to say it he is just a pumpkin that the other mother gave a human trait wich means she gave the pumpkin a life
CZsWorld ahh I mean not the history of the other father but it would be like a therory video why did the other father try resisting the other mother idk just like that character in the movie felt like it was the best part in my opinion
Is this satire💀
The garden was always a face, even before Coraline goes to the other world

Makes you wonder if the Other Mother ever tried to get Mrs. Lovat as well, not only her sister
good prediction
She probably just got the one who was easiest to persuade plus she could only do one at a time since the world had to be perfect for the child the other twin wouldn’t find it that interesting bc it’s what the sister likes not her plus once her sister went missing I’m pretty sure the mother wouldn’t be able to make her love her and forget that her sister is literally missing
I always wondered what would happen w/twins. It would be hard to lure and trap both...
I think both of them went to the world one escaped and the other didn't
Since I was a kid I theorized that Beldam tried to take both in, but Lovat escaped and was unable to save her sister
“Wybie was technically only made for the movie and wasn’t in the book so he doesn’t have any history. So remember to subscribe to the channel.”

I think she's mean to him bc she's abused and that's normal to her. She's a child and would mirror the environment she grew up in
Wybie isn’t that brutal, man.
@@kathrynhamilton860 I personally dont think she was abused. In the book it mentions that they were pretty poor (I think) so her parents tried everything they could to make some more money. Due to working all the time, they didn't have enough time for Coraline, so they didnt really so anything with her. In the movie, her mom tries to make time for her even though she does get annoyed, and her actual mom does end up buying the orange gloves for Coraline even when money was tight, showing she actually did care
I think Coraline just didnt like Wybie at first but I could always be wrong, idk
@@korigarber3641 neglect.... especially in the movie... Is a form of abuse
@@kathrynhamilton860 Yeah that is true. But even when they did abuse her by neglecting her, I don't think they meant to. They were poor, as was apparent in the movie, so they were trying to provide for their family

If you look carefully at the photo of Wybie's great-aunt, you'll see that she has the same hunched posture as he does. Their odd posture is likely a genetic form of scoliosis, or curvature of the spine. (Something that yours truly has a mild form of).

I’m loving your “Horror History” series CZ, especially this one.... Thank you!
Can you do tim burton's The Corpse Bride (Emily)
0:14 i really thought that the video was already over 💀
The beldam changed what she thought would please Coraline in regards to Wybie, but we can clearly see that the bravery that the other Wybie shows while saving Coraline is a true aspect of Wybie's personality as the real Wybie saves Coraline and helps her in the real world too.
I've seen comments saying that the other mother could've also been after ms. Lovat...but in the old picture we see ms.lovats sister is the only one with a doll when the other mother could've made the doll double sided or made two, furthermore being twins is probably what frustrates them most (based on ms.lovats look in the old picture) and she would have to create two separate worlds to accommodate each individual sister so for these reasons I think the other mother probably wasn't after ms.lovat as well
When it said wybie had no friends I felt so bad

I think I'm getting addicted to these videos!
The joke at the beginning
got me
Wouldn't be the first time I ended a video early.
He’s the first Black character written to be weird and quirky, it was nice to see since were usually portrayed as stereotypes.
“I thought we got past that but this guy wants to bring it back” LOL
Quick question: What if Wybie wasn't there near the end, and Coraline was dragged into the well by the beldam's hand?
Wybie is the HEROOOO
When I was watching it earlier with my sister I said “imagine if Wybie wasn’t there she could have died”
But, then it would resort to the less action packed way she did it, by tricking it into thinking it was a picnic, but was actually falling into the well. That, as well as the hand watching her every more for a few days after leaving the other dimension.
Well, we all know how that would end. And also tbh if Wybie found out if Coraline had died if that WAS the ending I think he'd be torn
I saw a comment saying that the well is another portal just like the little door. So maybe the hand would’ve dragged her bag to the beldam.
Coraline has been one of my favorite movies ever since it came out. Some adults think it's creepy lol...but I think it's a mysterious adventure every time.
The fact that coralline had a more amazing reaction than the other wybie when the old lady was half naked 💀
I've been shipping Coraline and Wybourne before I even knew what shipping was.
Even though we’re talking about Wybie
That is the coolest tie I’ve seen on this channel
I think the chicken mask was used for several things to mean. 1 The other mother used the mitt it was made from to put her hand into, showing again that he is an extension of her powers. 2. He could be intentionally covering his button eyes so that the Other Mother cannot see through them.
omg i thought it was going to end at 20 seconds haha would you ever cover hellraiser in horror history?
I'll consider it.
Does anyone think that wybie would be like the best friend-
You know an adaptation is well done when a character that wasn't even in the original book is added to the movie and fits in so well that a video talking about them 15 years after the fact gets 1.5 million views.
The two dislikes are from the Other Mother and Other Father
The other father is nice though
I think the other mother made multiple accounts

•Straw Berry• oh damn yes that makes so much sense!! there’s gotta be another portal than just the door
Chelcea Short Jesus, you reply quick.
•Straw Berry• 😂😂 i’m very enthusiastic about coraline
Times and read the books
Wybie used to look like a crush I had in secondary school (which is also when I discovered the series). Naturally Wybie became my favourite character along with the cat.
OK, but here's a fun fact. After Wybie crushes The Beldam's hand with a rock, he presumably avenges the great-aunt he never met, because the hand's master (The Beldam) presumably dies of starvation without Coraline and the Ghost Children in the Other World.
Wybie is so freaking adorable! I LOVE him to death! Lowkey, Wybie is still my crush😂😂

CZ: fine fine
Me: *starts sobbing* what I do?
CZ: since everyone won’t stop asking I’ve decided to make a horror history episode on wybie
Me: oh...

They should make a movie about wyborns grandma
Yessss
Oh that actually not bad
I had this in my recommendation I’m pretty happy with this video 🥰❤️ yes four weeks ago I had watch the other Caroline video
"My name is why was I born" 😂😂😂 0:51
