Always use Non-Pressurized filter basket. That Pressurized filter basket is for Pre-Ground coffee beans or when someone is lazy to dial in. I usually have super fresh beans, but I bought brand A until my fresh beans arrived. The pressure was terrible. I went to grind size 1 and reduced the inner burr setting also. Still low pressure. Then bought different brand of beans and the result was the same. Tried all of your tips before finally I had a 3rd bag of beans and I was shocked that these beans were the freshest and the pressure problem was solved. I was sure it was a machine issue because I didn't expect 2 bags to both be stale. Thank you for your advice. 👍🙂😉

Your video helped me get pressure. My head gasket is leaking water over the outside edges when brewing. This only started when I did a descale and cleaned with vinegar. Is it the gasket? I have cleaned the shower screen. Doesn't look like diffuser is cracked. Any thoughts? I have watched a lot of UA-cam videos to try and solve. At least the pressure is working now.
I figured this out. It was simply my gasket needed replacing. Works perfectly now!

Seems one of the silicon seal is broken. One had to open the machine and see. Please contact Breville

Hi Aju. What's your advice if I got a few leftover of coffee beans which is not enough to make even 1 single shot espresso, can I mix it with my new/different brand of coffee beans so that there will be no waste?
You could mix with another brand. I know some people mix beans brand and use. So if you like the taste go for it 👍

My coffee puk has stuck to group head when I removed the portafilter last few times I’ve used it, any ideas, never happened before 🤷🏼♂️.. tulips looking sweet👍🏻
Its normal in some cases.
Few things to consider.
1. I noted that if my beans get over extracted (almost burnt), then it sticks. To fix dial in properly.
2. Make sure u follow the Razor height after tamping the beans. Less Grinds in PF can cause soggy puck.
Simple solution is to press Extraction button with PF on GroupHead, for 5 seconds and stop. This should push the puck down into the PF

Hello! I reset my water volume and now I am getting more water and not having the pressure issue, but I am still only getting a single shot of expresso when I run a double once I add my beans. What else should I try?
When I do the test of water output without the dual wall basket the output is good. But when I use the single or double dual basket it is low output. Pressure only gets up to 9/10 o'clock if that and output is low. Any ideas. I reset the program even though I hadn't touched it but didn't make any difference.
I guess you tested it without any coffee Grinds. Its normal to show pressure around 10 o clock and water volume would be less when using Pressurized basket, as the remaining goes into the drip tray through backflush. More pressure, less output through Portafilter spouts. Low Pressure, more water output. Also see if its related to flow meter. I guess this is not the issue ua-cam.com/video/jtczkX4DPS8/v-deo.html
What about Water volume problem?
some time default water level accurate around 12sec , But some time water are keep on running until 30sec++.
I had try factory reset way some time are back to normal But it will come back for this water volume problem after i learn from you video adjusted the grinder 6 to 4.
Since i get this problem i put back 4 to 6 but not work it :(

If the water volume is correct on the double espresso with water, but when i do double espresso i get around 30 ml.. what can be the issue
I thought that unpressurized volume would be the same as pressurized volume. So the volume isn’t measured with a flow meter but more ore less by time? I think that’s how I screwed mine up. I measured two oz unrestricted thinking I would get two oz of espresso. But why then can I make a longer shot by playing with grind size and tamping. I am confused. Could you please answer this if I’m making myself clear. How do we count on proper two oz shot volume when the default setting is four oz as you show in video?
Unpressurized volume will be more than Pressurized volume. Example, if u grind coarser, you will get 3oz, compared to another shot which is Finer brings 1 oz espresso. Flow meter brings that same 4 oz water. When u do high pressure shot, u may get 1 oz espresso, and the remaining hot water of around 3 oz goes through OPV to drip tray directly. To get more espresso, grind coarser OR do manual extraction till u get desired espresso. To get 2 oz do the same Manual mode OR you need to dial in grind size, tamp pressure, dose etc to get 2oz espresso.
Hi Aju, I did follow your instructions, I have no pressure at all, the volume is ok, what is the next step. It was working great till I changed the burr size to 4 - so went back to 6 and the factory resetting - still no pressure. Help🙏🏼
Most of the issue is related to the freshness of the beans. Always keep this in mind - Freshly Roasted beand is a MUST for Espresso. How do ai get that? 1. Roast your own beans and consume in 3-4 weeks 2. Find a local roaster who provides the Roasted date.
Now its hard to get pressure using a stale beans or store bought beans. You can set the inner burrs to 3 or 2 and reduce the external Grinder size to a less Number too and give a try. See my other video on low pressure

Hi. I'm wondering if you can help. I normally drink americano's so I always use the dial on the right side of the machine (steam, and water!) for water. This used to produce a dedicated amount of water and then cut out, but recently it hasn't been doing that and the water continues to flow. Is there a fault with the machine?
Yes that sounds like an issue with the machine. Hot water should stop at 8 ounce mark.

I’m getting pressure within range with the pressured basket but I’m not getting enough espresso. I reset the program, but I’m still getting just a little espresso. When i just run water through, I get the right amount of water. Any help?
When you run just water, how many Oz do you get in single and double?
Hi bro van u help me nu pressures is to high?
If pressure is too high then do these steps:
1. Lower your dose amount. That means if you are taking 18g, then take 17g
2. Change the Grind side to COARSER. That means if its on 4, change it to 6 or 8 and see.
3. Reduce tamping force.
If you can play with the above 3 parameters, you should get the correct pressure. Let me know if this helped.
I have a brand new machine, can't get the pressure to go up even after the reset and the use of the double basket. I do get the correct amount of water. When I insert the rubber disk into the portafilter, I do get up in pressure. Can't figure out what is going wrong. Hope you can help.

If you are getting high pressure above 1 o clock then your machine is fine. You are not getting enough pressure because you may not be using Freshly Roasted beans from a local roaster which is less than 10 days old roasted date. I am having an issue where almost no water is coming out and I have done the program reset but still same problem. Not enough water is passing through on single or double cup

Aju, I have the issue where the 2 shot button was dispensing 6+ oz of espresso...did the factory reset you shared but it failed to work. Did the manual programming and it worked to get my 2 oz at the time of the programming but then when we went to do the 2nd cup, right after the programming, it appeared to start the pre-infusion for just a fraction of a second and then stopped with no water coming out. Did the manual programming again...no issue...go to use the machine as normal and again appears to start then stop right away. Re-set default...6+ oz of water comes out. Any ideas???
It seems some error in the flow meter that dispense the water Volume. If you are sure you did reset the machine and plug off the machine from the wall for a minute and see. If it still didn't work you need to open the machine and check the flow meter (if u r a handyman). Else call breville customer service.
I could possibly do a video tomorrow on this, if your machine is still not on warranty you can follow the steps.
@@AjusCafe Wow, appreciate the quick response and suggestions. Did the un-plug as well. Called Breville and went through trouble shooting, they were helpful and even did a video call to watch what I was doing. They believe it needs a repair which would cost me a bit over $200 to fix or replace with a remanufactured item. Interestingly they also offered me 30% off any upgraded model under $1000! We may take them up on that and order the Express or Pro (for $523 or $603 respectively). With that all shared, I'd still like to see how I would check the flow meter. Again, thank you and great videos.

@@AjusCafe I did de-scale it again. The single shot worked fine. The double shot didn't work on the first try but eventually broke thru on the second try. It's almost like there's a clog in the double walled filter. Thank you again for the suggestion!
@@dinotat3199 great. If you have cafiza power, soak it for 2 hours and rise. Else vinegar and water mix , soak overnight.

And pressure was full but no brewing ?
If you get very high pressure then the machine is choking and you may not see the espresso flow. To fix, grind the beans more COARSE and try again. You should be able to see the flow between 11 - 12 o clock pressure range.

When you press double cup without Portafilter, are you getting hot water through the GroupHead? When is the roast date of the coffee?

if there is no water coming out of the GroupHead, then I suspect the water pump failing.
Single cup button is 2x single shots and 2 cup is 2x double shots!

My bartista pro has this low pressure. It looks like it has some internal leaks. after each time press the button I see drips from where the bottom tray is when I pull it out... dripping from the inner front wall ..and more inspection I even saw some drips come out of the grinder port! so now I know there is some leak internally...Ugh I bought this on ebay and now I have to fix this damn machine! Should have bought a new one. The douche bag who sold it was just letting go of his machine because it is failing!
