Your breakdown of the stages of a UA-cam channel's growth, coupled with the latest strategies, is exactly what I needed. The emphasis on getting discovered and focusing on intriguing thumbnails over detailed tags is a massive shift in strategy. I'm definitely going to start making two thumbnails per video and experiment with length and authenticity in my content. The insights on community engagement through the community tab were eye-opening too! This is the roadmap to unstuck my channel and I'm ready to roll with it! 🌟🚀

Great video, I think that for small channels the most important thing is to get good presence from the beginning. Otherwise, you are going to be far behind everyone else, and eventually quit. Even though I am not beginner anymore, I know how hard it could be (and if I haven't used a lot of Famester, I would have quit my journey a long time ago as well). It made everything much more easier, especially getting over subs and views requirements to get monetized.
Insightful tips! I've been focusing on making my thumbnails simpler so they are easily understood. Also, the shift from relying solely on subscribers to prioritizing browse and suggested traffic makes a lot of sense and thats what I'm trying to focus on. Excited to implement these strategies and see how they impact my channel's growth! 🚀
I got very low impressions and very low views. I already posted 4 videos and 3 shorts and only got 67 views in total. About 200 impressions in total. Why so low?
For the longest time I thought subs was the way to grow, then I realised with personally around 2200 subs and generally far far less views, subs don't really matter so much, which makes sense over the years I've watched so many channels in my field and subscribed to them all yet in reality I only regularly watch a chosen few. I have one video that has gone really well over 58k views but from that only 95 folk subscribed, man if only they hit that sub button.....would it make that much difference? I really have no idea, generally no idea about much at all to be fair.
Rhett and Link have been doing the authenticity - "just sit and hit record" thing for 12 years lol. It's a pretty good strategy and they're living proof. Definitely tricky to get right though... thanks for expanding on this framework a bit!

Just started my UA-cam channel and honestly this video really helped me. I wouldn’t say I’m stuck it’s just I don’t have that many videos out nor I don’t got really any subs nor views on my UA-cam videos 😅 but I’m trying my best
You touched upon it... and I had a conversation with YT a few weeks ago. What matters is the META data. What is that? It's a combination of the title, description, tags, what classification you give the video (for example depictions of violence if it is a war history video) AND the thumbnail. These I believe are being looked at both by human and AI on their end. I also believe that if anyone submits a complaint it will equally affect the channel because a person will then look at the META data manually and decide to demonetize or throttle back the content (and yes they do that through various ways like simply not letting it get out to similar viewers). So it is the META data. Tags may only play a small part, but it is important what your title says and what description you have.

Great video, and nice Upgrade on AI thumbnail. but how do you create your thumbnail looking like that, I want that to be my next upgrade for my channel.
Long time viewer, first time commentor. Great video as always. But if you're taking suggestions for video ideas, I would like to suggest something about the contrast between the likes of gaming channels who can upload lots of videos every week, and other types of channels (animation, travel, ect) that can take maybe two weeks to a month to just produce one video. That's the issue I'm thinking about at the moment with my own channel. Recently, I've been doing one video a month, but I'm going to be bumping that up to two a month this year. My problem is, because of the nature of my channel, my videos take quite a while to produce; pick a historical site to visit, go there and record (normally for over half an hour), write a script (which is basically a history paper), edit, make thumbnails, ect. I'm worried that it may have an effect on the growth of my channel, especially in the beginning if viewers are not willing to wait around for two weeks at a time to watch my videos, especially if they aren't that familiar with my channel. I apologies for the long message, but if you could heart so I know you've seen it, I would really appreciate it. Always enjoy the content and I'm looking forward to the next one :)
Imagine you're an avid fisherman casting your line into the river. Each video you post on UA-cam is like adding another fishing rod to the water - more opportunities to attract viewers are similar to having multiple lines in the river. Just as additional rods increase your chances of catching more fish, regularly posting videos can enhance your visibility, drawing in a larger audience and increasing your chances of reeling in more views and subscribers.
I keep going! Now I have a more comfortable schedule for my self to keep uploading at least 3 videos a week! I started a few months ago and it is an interesting challenge! Keep your confidence! and Don't give up!
Thanks for all the great, helpful advice. As longtime writers (and people who cover movies, where the use of AI was a huge reason behind the recent writers' strike), we're sorta squishy about AI. But as you say, it isn't going anywhere, so maybe we can harness its power for good!
Been uploading consistently for the last 2 weeks and am noticing good growth but I used to upload way back in like 2016 and the game has changed so much. What I got going on now though is working but its harder. Good luck everyone...
I live by everything in this video. I must say i need to work on my outro's better. Just close the video quick and swift. One thing i have noticed as a GAMING creator is when you change games after playing a certain game for a while is your views will tank, but that is ok. UA-cam is trying to learn and find the right audience for your new found game. I made a pretty drastic switch from Starfield to RDR2 and my views hit the floor, but as of yesterday my 3-4 rdr2 video finally caught steam. I understood youtube needed some time and DATA to find the right viewers and my confidence on continuing to release RDR videos have skyrocketed. Just still to your guns and make good entertaining videos and success will come.
To every creator, don't give up! You never know if the next video you publish or one of your old ones gets pushed into the algorithm. My recent video blew up out of nowhere and gained me 10 times the views of my most popular video. Just keep making content and enjoy the ride. I hope you all succeed in 2024!

this thumbnail had me in a chokehold, well done
This thumbnail fuego 🔥
UA-cam started showing ads in my video even when I’m not monetized … That motivates me at least
Yes same! Feels a bit cheeky tbh!
They want people to pay for Premium or watch with advertising

Generally speaking what tools are needed to make a thumbnail like that? It’s awesome
I keep going! Now I have a more comfortable schedule for my self to keep uploading at least 3 videos a week! I started a few months ago and it is an interesting challenge! Keep your confidence! and Don't give up!
I’m just 22 subs away from 1k. Can’t wait for this achievement 🤗
I'm still not ready. But after watching dozens of your vids, I'm almost there 😂
Just start bro I’m 3 videos and 4 shorts in still not ready but learning more with every post! Believe in yourself big dawg!!!
You have made a stunning thumbnail ❤
