I'm about to perform this surgery right now. Got my kester flux, my silver rosin lead free solder, temp at 400, sponge is wet, LETS GO!
Good luck!!
Silver solder is prone to cracking as it heats up and cools down. It should be fine, but lead tin would be better for this spplication.
Thank you this was very informative. Great solutions too
Yup u welcome!!!
Bro.. your AMAZING !
I appreciate that!
Success for me! Thank you thank you! I used copper wire from Cat5 Ethernet cable. Original wires would not solder.
Nice!!!
Great information I watch’s German guy on UA-cam solder a Jeep control box for fuel pump relay and it worked
Cool, thanks yeah this was bad design
Can a bad abs module cause stiff power steering on civic 10th generation? Very informative video
Yes it can
Thank you brother for clarifying the problem that it happened in my country, this car model has all the problems, and the service center refuses to take responsibility. They want customers to pay a lot of money to fix this problem. And there are more and more customers who have this problem in Thailand. I thought, like you, that it was a bad design and that Honda should have to recall to fix this problem, but it hasn't happened yet.
Yup they should defiantly recall it it’s bad wiring too thin contacts
Love your videos
Is it safe to go through eBay. I had a electric laboratories say you need to reprogram it and it could be dangerous when it rains (locking of the brakes).
Yeah i had one or 2 people do the rebuild off eBay and it was smooth car was fixed
Interesting.. I've had a couple times where I would get a bunch of lights on my dash all at the same time like Check Engine, ABS, Traction Control, etc. The problem went away on it's own and I figured it must be some intermittent sensor on maybe the Canbus or sensor data line pulling down that bus/line which would cause the ECM to think multiple problems. Well if it happens again, I will take a look at this module. Lucky for me, I have 30+ years of soldering experience so shouldn't be a problem..
Yup honda got this issue
RB Igot all the brake lights on at the rear. I checked the fuses. They good. I checked the brake light sensor. They good. I got the trifecta’s but the abs light turns off but push the break and it turns on. What should I look for 😊
Wait I didn’t u derstand. Brakes light are on in the back pulse they turn on with braking?
@@RBTheMechanic no they don’t break only stay on
The break lights are stuck on. I push the break and it stays the same. I disconnected the sensor under the break pedal no changes
Did you need to do any module programming when installing used module from ebay???
No direct fit and good to go no programming
hello, I have a question, my accord has that problem, it's a 2013 EX-L, it has to be the part specifically for the EX-L or it can fit from any other from that same year, something like an LX can work for my car even if the donor is not EX-L? Thanks
Same answer
@@MrNormal593 not sure about civic accord is diffrent 13to 17 same
So i replaced the abs pump due to one line not getting brake fluid to a caliper. I re installed my old module due to the car not starting with the one that came with the pump. Now i have all kinds of lights. Would it need to be re program?
U messed it up even more. Moduel dosent restric brake fluid flow u need to track the line restriction
Does the throttle module is integrated on the abs/vsa module?
No throttle is processed by ecm engine control moduel
how do the professional rebuilders open them without cutting?
They cut them I seen it and glue it back
Vamos ajudar com os defeitos 🚀
Thanks
Sir thank you very much for this video. Great explanation.
I am having the same problem. Lights are on (ABS , traction control…)
however they go off when temperatures are low and it’s cold outside.
I went to Honda and they confirmed my fear, ABS modulator. I haven’t fixed it yet but they only did diagnostics. $1700 for a part and $ 250 labor. Just was wondering if you have any opinion why this problem is not there when it’s cold outside like 40 degrees Fahrenheit and do you suggest I sent part to be fixed ?
Thank you
Yes I would send it out
Thank you so much for your response!
I heard you said eBay for repairs, could you please suggest particular name of service/business on eBay that I should go with ? Thank you again
@@vedranvedran6078 u have to search on eBay type is honda abs moduel repair. It should show up and send them message they will guide u
I have multiple light on my dash. Brake, fcw, abs, you think its also the connectors inside the box
Honda Accord 2013 exl
Scan the abs moduel for codes
would you know if 2012 Honda Civic EX will have the same abs modulator pump or this poor design started from 2013? Thx
It can but I haven’t had any come yet
@@RBTheMechanic thx - I have VSA light and randomly power steering light kicks in, never had ABS light. Any idea what could it be? Planning to scan for the VSA codes.
@@maverickperson5443 scan for codes first
@@RBTheMechanic seeing two codes 81-20 and 85-01. Battery was recently tested and showed needs to be recharged(alternator is good), can it be bad battery?
@@maverickperson5443 u need to replace that battery before anything
I have the same problem with Honda pilot 2014 what can I do?
First scan the car for codes in all moduel especially abs moduel
Maybe I should go to a Honda dealer and ask one of the workers to find out if the ABS module for my 2013 Honda Accord is under recall or warrantee, so I can possibly avoid paying for the repair.
Yes do that
The abs módulo 3.5 and 2.4 are the same ?
I don’t think so
Nissan is good if it's RWD manual transmission
I opened my module up and tried to solder it. I couldn’t get the solder to stick to the connections. I took it to 2 different cell phone repair shops and they couldn’t get solder to stick either. Is it a specific kind of solder? Is anyone else having this problem too?
Did you try using some flux?
I had success removing the coating on the board and contacts and using new solid copper 26 awg wire(from cat5 cable). Original wire is welded on and will not accept solder. I had 4 broken wires. Replaced, reinstalled and no codes.
@@KB0WXR thanks for this tip. I'm about to do all of this right now.
I still am amazed that so many people pay through the nose for 'quality' Japanese cars, when a Chevy or Ford will outlast them and require 1/5th the maintenance. I've made a good living working on Jaguar and Land Rover 'quality'. Leaking Nissans with trash go-cart transmissions, and yes, the classic Honda and Toyota electrical systems.
Yeah
I've owned all 3... chevy , Ford, Honda . They all have their problems and I've replaced a transmission on my f150, Tahoe and accord... no car manufacturer gets a pass when it comes to repairs. It's a pick your poison type of thing with cars, if there was a perfect car everyone would be driving it
They make my favorite motorcycles but outside of that I'll pass... They make great generators great lawn mower engines motorcycles like I said but If I want a car I'll drive a Toyota or a Ford
Lol yup
He said Ford 😂
Can i just go to the junk yard and take one out from a crash honda accord ?
Prolly get same BS better to send it to get repaired
@@RBTheMechanic should I check other things before shipping it out ? Like checking brake fluid and tire sensors?
