    Note that 2015 Accord is the only year that the tube gaskets are not serviceable. If the tube gaskets are bad on your 15 Accord 2.4l, you'd have to replace the whole valve cover which costs around $200. Nice and easy to understand video. Thank You!

      It seems to be VIN specific across different years of this gen. My 2017 Sport has the non replaceable gaskets.

    got quoted 216 w labor only, 303 w the oil change according to a local shop,, already have the gasket but been waiting to do this,, def gonna do this myself,, solid video

      @@hondaresource I have much better performance omw to work today (40 miles freeway)! 2 of my valves had oil in the coils ( I have a 2014 Accord Sport too), but now the oil smell is gone and the acceleration is so much cleaner. The tip on using my thumbs to seat the valve gaskets correctly came in handy, as I instinctively WOULD HAVE just shoved it (I think that's what the last guy did)! Keep making good videos man, thanks a bunch! I think you just cured my cars issues across the board!

    Great video!!! I just did this on a '15 BMW 435i. BMW dealer charges at least $500. Getting ready to do this on my wife's '14 Accord Sport. Looks pretty straight forward. I'll be disconnecting the battery!!!

      All good, you just have to reset the radio/nav afterwards

    Don't forget the Valve Assembly, PCV
    Part #171305a2a01
    Which causes the gasket to go in the first place.

      No. It'll drain down to the oil pan when you turn off the car

    Good tutorial. Thanks. I have owned many Hondas and this is the only one that has seepage. All others went 250-300k without any seepage. The GDI engines are problematic. I will be doing this job soon. How long do you wait for the Honda bond to fully cure/dry before driving?

    I'm not a maniac mechanic but after watching your video I'm pretty sure I can do it. It might take me all day but I think I can. I got a Mahle gasket set pn VS50887. I know it's not one but ORielys says it's the right one for me 2015 Accord Exl 2.4 ltr. Would you agree with that? Once again, great video!

      Honda Resource, I actually took the aboved mentioned gasket back to ORielys and went to the Honda dealership and got the OEM one. Fit perfectly!

      I'm not 100% sure. Most 10mm stuff is 7.9ft/lb

    Thanks for this Philip! I have one of these (direct injection) engines on my 2016 CRV, do you know how I can tell if the intake valves have carbon buildup? Ideally I don't want to have to take off the intake manifold to see, is there an easier way?

    Hey Phil great video mate. I have just started the replacement and i found that one of the small nuts is missing from one of the four round seals that the T20 torc is required for. I cant get another one for almost two weeks and I was wondering if its possible to reuse one of the old seals until the new one arrives or is that not a good idea ?

    Was that a Milwaukee impact driver you used to take out the valve cover bolts? Or was it an impact wrench? 3/8" or 1/4" head?

    shouldn't you install the tube seals 1st so you don't risk getting debris on the gasket

    Can loose bolts cause oil to leak around the valve cover gasket? I have a 2017 Honda sport and it already needs to be replaced. My car has 91,884 miles on it. Is this normal to replace it so soon?

      These gaskets are super prone to leaking. I can tell you how many I've seen between the civics, Accord, and CRV with the earth dreams engine

    Is this normal for 2014 accords to leak this early ? I have same issue. What’s the mileage in this ? I see some seepage but it doesn’t leak on the ground. Should I wait longer ?

      Honestly I have no idea. This is the first and only one I've had come in. It'll take a while for a valve cover leak to hit the ground.

    I took my 2013 accord to the dealer for oil change and I can see my valves cover start leaking they quote me $450 to replace it and also they told me that it needs valve adjustment is this true? My car has 93,500 miles.

    I have a 2016 Honda Accord sport, recently my check engine light came one and I ran a diagnostic on it and it came out to be the front cat. I see some oil leaking into the cat, I’m going to replace the valve gasket cover, but wanted to ask if that oil leakage is a cause of the check engine light coming on? And if so do I also have to change my cat?

    Hey brother. I replaced my gasket earlier this summer. And after traveling since the replacement, decided to look under the hood to see if there were any leaks. Surprisingly, I found it leaking again. Not as bad before. But a leak is a leak. What do you think the issue may be? Bad replacement by this knucklehead? I had checked it a couple months after replacing, and it seemed to be fine. But literally just checked it yesterday and saw it to be leaking.

      I have looked up several videos an they are all bolt in, it’s really wierd . The guys at the parts store couldn’t figure it out either, it rare cause they are halfway competent.
      I guess I’ll be calling Honda to find out tomorrow
