She is usually ridiculous but she actually made a really good point here. No company should ever send someone who has 5% stake to sell on shark tank. Doomed from the start.

@@kc_lucky3081 that changes nothing. CEO with 5 percent stake in a startup is a salesperson.
@@l3eserker Jee I wonder what long and illustrious career in business gave you this idea... You're wrong. Some of these "sharks" are too far up their own asses and they lashed out on a man for doing his JOB properly.

i actually really like this guy he kept his cool and explained everything simply.
Have you checked the reviews for his chair? Not good at all. But yes the guy did handle himself well.
One of the best pitches
Naw he was rude and showed he wasn't able to take criticism. One of them was even nice to say she was still going to buy one and he was rude. You can't be in business with someone who doesn't have an open mind
@@BAP3221 i don't think when he responded saying "you'll have to pay full price" that it was rude. It's just banter. At the end of the day he had a product they didn't invest in so it's just a little jab. It would be rude if he said something personal about Lori. Also, after being called a salesman by barbara (who knows nothing about what he does for the company prior to shark tank) and simply responding by saying he disagrees and that it's a bit offensive to call him that, I find what he said to be the perfect blend of sincerity and confidence. He didn't respond to Barbara in a rude way while also standing up for himself and his role at his company (that he clearly is passionate about).

When someone asks for a high evaluation for their company
Mark: Hello!
Barbara: i thought they sell chairs here, not business ideas.
And for that reason I’m out
Jokes aside. I would be confused on what to do in those situations. Not and item but part of a business. That's also a new starting up business. It'd be annoying to deal with
He's a model for how to stay composed. Barbara was a B and he obviously felt very insulted, but he restrained himself and actually did a very good job with his pitch. (drop Bieber, he has zero influence with any shark)
tbf she is right. This show is about entrepreneur start ups and the guy who owns the company didn't even show up
Why would I buy a company from someone who only has 5% share of the company?
That person isn’t there to to get investor to grow a business, that person is trying to sell their share of the company for profit, she’s right, he lacks credibility

Barbara doesn't understand CEO can be someone other than company's founder and majority share holder.
The CEO who's not majority share holder gets paid salary regardless of negotiation tactics, thus his interest does not align that well with that of the majority shareholders = the 95% guy + potential shark, so he should not be negotiating
(because he will say whatever to secure deal even if due diligence reveals it was false, wasting sharks' time yet he still got paid just like a salesman)

LOL? Seems to me you're the one who does not understand business. SMH.
I think the guy was very genuine and great entrepreneur. He got JB so he definitely knows how to do marketing. I do think the $500k for 2.5% was absurd valuation. Sharks usually willing to invest less than 300 K in companies with more equity
yes but the sharks could give less of a shit what Celebrity endorses the product.
yeah.. but i'm assuming he doesn't have more than 5% of the company to give up. LOL...
Nah based on his sales of 3.2m with a projection of 5.5m that year alone that is a great valuation. Sharks are just greedy and you can't blame them, there's better deals with more equity to be had.
If Justin Beiber was a doctor or back expert, I would definitely buy the chair... However, his career really doesn't have much to do with chairs so even if he endorses it, it doesn't mean anything to me.
As a CEO, you should be the company’s best salesman. There is nothing wrong with it. You need to sell your product!!!
