    It’s easy to see how a horrible detective can screw up an entire investigation. The female investigator has to be one of the worst I’ve seen in a long time! Sliding the phone across the table, yawning and making weird faces like a teen girl would! She is horrible at her job.

      they're letting her work on it, on a big case so yeah it's kinda dumb. She's not as bad as the female cop I witnessed being told multiple times to pull her taser. She was on nonlethal, but decided to just walk around like she was casually waiting for an ubereats. She never even pulled taser, forcing her male partner to use lethal force on a woman running at him with a nine inch kitchen knife. I think it was donutoperators video, but female cops in the field are much more dangerous in my opinion. That police department is now being sued for wrongful death, and because of that female cop failing to do her job, I believe they have a decent case. This situation will end in this person going the mental hospital route for the rest of her life, but even police are short staffed sometimes.

    "They're on their way, but they have to drive there. And while they're driving there, I need to get some information" is so refreshing to hear. So many 911 calls are frustrating because the caller thinks the operator is stalling.. and the operator, 75% of the time, fails to communicate like this.

      I work for an alarm company that monitors medical alarms and the first thing we give to the dispatcher is the address because they start help that way immediately and then we're on the phone for several more minutes while giving them relevant information. It doesn't matter how long they are asking additional questions, some calls can be more than 5 minutes but they have already dispatched help when we gave them the address at the start of the call.

    I know my opinion doesn't matter much, but I think the male investigator did a great job here. He kept redirecting her concerns of 'ha-nging herself' to the idea that she is just recounting truth. It must have made her feel comfortable thinking that he believes her story (56:30). Also, stacking questions might not be a bad tactic. He introduced her children in one line of questioning that may have been too much for her, but by stacking the questions it allowed her not to answer it. Then later when he asked about the children again he didn't stack the question. But the introduction of the topic was no longer as shocking as it had been brought up before (57:03).

Too many times have I come to the comments only to find people making petty, demeaning, and dismissive remarks and starting arguments over the most meaningless points.
      Anyway, I completely agree with how effective the male detective's tactic was. By introducing the topic of the kids in a stacked question it cushioned the landing for when he asked her directly. Great point Drew! I really hope more people like you keep commenting on videos and those who start the 'boys rule girls drool' stuff learn to let all that go RIP in kindergarten where it belongs. 👍

    As a person with autism, I hope nobody tries to analyse me like that. I don't look into eyes, I don't really have facial expressions, and I'm _always_ thinking very intently about what I am saying (assuming no psychological emergency). My sentences are pretty much full of qualifiers.

      @SupremeGrand-MasterAzrael 10 місяців тому +144

      It isn't that black and white you don't need to worry about that. The things you mentioned have to be considered against a baseline behavior. In an interrogation like this, police always start out observing how you act before they ask you questions. They need to see how a suspect/interviewee acts "normally". If they observe that you don't make eye contact and speak very deliberately, they will factor that in to their analysis of your nonverbal communication. If using a lot of qualifiers is something that a person does in low stress situations or questions; that person using a lot of qualifiers in a high stress situation or questions is less likely to be a sign of deception. The same goes for lack of eye contact or facial expressions. Or even if someone displays "nervous" behavior or self-soothing behaviors. All these methods of detecting deception must be used in the right context to be useful.

It all began and started to go down hill, after Jimmy had been awarded Social Security benefits. He was absolutely terrible with money, as many people stated throughout the episode. Because of this, after he was awarded the Social Security benefits, he ran into a problem finding a bank that would allow Jimmy to open his own account. The only way he could start using those Social Security benefits was to have them direct deposited into a bank account. It was after many weeks (or was it months) of constantly badgering her about allowing him to use her bank account to direct deposit his Social Security checks into, that he was finally able to convince her to let him use her account for just that purpose. He had also agreed that he'd pay her a bit out of those checks for her troubles. This is something I never truly understood. Why did he have to ask a neighbor and not his wife for help? However, I do believe there was some additional speculation that he may have been having an affair with her, especially because he was over there a lot...drinking, doing drugs, and it wasn't odd for him to sleep there if he had drank too much. Whatever it might have been...it wouldn't be too long before she finally understood why people said Jimmy was bad with money. Sadly, just as she feared he would, after she helped him and his checks started coming in, he would often, if not always, overdraft her accounts and leave her essentially penniless (and she was a single mother who couldn't work due to her mental health issues, which eventually became worse and worse). He would never pay her back on time, which would cause her increased late and overdraft fees. She also started getting warnings from her bank. If I'm not mistaken, I think she may have eventually lost her bank account, or she closed it herself...I can't remember.
      She had just lost her husband and was diagnosed with debilitating health conditions, which made it hard to hold a steady job. By him basically screwing her over, overdrafting her bank account, her having to pay all those overcharge fees, and stealing from her, he drove her to a point of extreme depression. And he wouldn't stop asking her for more and more financial help! In fact, the reason he was with her that day, was because he had recently asked her to ask her father (who is very well off) if he'd lend her money, which was actually going to go to Jimmy. She told him that her father had agreed to lend her the money, that she wanted to get all their ducks in a row, and that she'd be going to get the money that day. In fact, I think she had told him they were going together to get it, which is another reason he was with her that day.
      Unfortunately, however, she had pre-planned the attack/müřɗəř to happen during this time. I'd just like to mention that in no way am I justifying her actions, but he did destroy her life financially, cause her extreme duress as well as increased her psychological conditions, and she just wanted him to stop. She had tried many times before verbally, but he'd badger her more and more and more, until she give in. His constant financial abuse caused her to break, in a way. She felt like there was no other way out, and she had gone into a psychotic break. I feel extremely sorry for Jimmy's family, I really do. However, Jimmy also kinda made his own bed...so to speak. And well, I feel sorry for her and her family also!

    I feel so terrible for her kids. The way they were forced to live, the woman they had as a mother. The fact she committed such an awful crime. All of it. So heartbreaking.

      That’s not the worst case! There was one where a guy killed and dismembered his parents… Particularly the mother’s head in a large pot on kitchen stove found by a detective… If I remember correctly, it was all for the sake of gathering some insurance money, plus some childhood crap…

    Her email to you guys on the details of why she did what she did makes her defense story even more unbelievable. She mentions that he threatened her kids (which she never claimed before that) which gave her the “strength” to fight back. A statement that both further pushed the self defense lie and paints her as a hero now.

    It’s ludicrous that she stated in the emails that she made her children’s “education & well being” her TOP priority yet had them living in a home that should have been condemned due to being completely uninhabitable. Part of being a parent is ensuring your child has a clean & safe living environment. Not to mention taking her kids with her to purchase products to carry out a murder & actually cooking a human body with them in the home. Then having her son put the pieces of their neighbor’s
    dismembered body into the car so she could discard of them. Some people truly believe only what they want bc for her to be able to boldly state that her kids were a priority for her is just baffling. Any one of those experiences would have been unimaginably traumatic for a child & she subjected her children to all of it, just to prove a point bc her friend had poor money management skills? Seriously like WTF?
