Small little fact; You can see what stats are affected by quality, simply look for the blue little diamond behind the stat. For example, the mech armor quality boosts Equipment grid and Inventory bonus. I do agree that this is not something to worry about early game tho. (Edit: I see you found the Factoriopedia)
6:33 ‘not building anything big here’ has half of a late game 1.0 base laid out and built before Green Science is researched…. Definitely a different approach than I’ve seen before, but the ocd is very satisfied here.

I’m assuming you’ve since figured out the pipe system in later videos I haven’t seen yet but for anyone else watching, any single contiguous pipe system must fit inside of a 250x250 tile square, but can do anything you want inside of that. If the bounding box of your pipes covers 250x251 tiles, zero flow, but 250x250 or less and it’s fine.
The only exception i would make is bots. Once i get to bots i switch to building the big proper base. The small starter base has always been to get to bots

I've just started a brand new save. It is different. This first playthrough was done in the beta version of the game and I am convinced it was set up to be easier for reviewers. The increase in starting area size definitely helps though, I'm not gonna lie.
I am a long long way away from having the required understanding of all the new changes to be able to come up with proper blueprints. Ooh boy. I'll be happy just to get to the end on this playthrough!!

The embargo lift being one week before it even releases is the real gut punch. I wish they'd made it one day before, but here I am 6 days out from release drooling for something I can't have just yet.

From the friday facts, you should be able to flip oil recipe input / output. Which should give much simpler pipes.
Flip the refinery so that the outputs are reversed? Does that work now? Flipping awesome
Yes you can now flip which side they get outputted on which means you can have refineries in pairs closer together@@theotherbigfoot
