WARNING: Desktop laser cutters are very dangerous! It's important to keep it in an isolated, enclosed, and well ventilated area, as well as make sure the material you plan on cutting aren't treated with chemicals that might release when laser cutting
All tools have some risk, but overall I’d say the table saw the laser is sitting on is a more dangerous tool than the laser. Both however are perfectly safe as long as you follow their basic safety procedures.
I really like this kind of content! I'm currently close to dialing in my 3D printer, and was also impressed with how your framework case turned out, which got me curious about laser cutters/engravers. However, because I knew nothing about them, (and also since I still have a 3d printer to play with), I kind of dismissed the idea of looking into them. This video gave me a very basic idea of how a machine like this works, what the software is like, and what you can expect. I found it very useful! Might look into getting one after all, thanks to you!
Sam has a video on fixing that laser wiring harness too! I believe it was him that changed the way the thing is secured, if you haven’t yet check it out
I purchased refurbished xtool D1 Pro 20w from their ebay site and it is like brand new. Was missing the riser legs and i contacted the seller and they are sending me a set. The only negative is I cannot add the tool care plan to the tool because they dont consider their ebay store as an official xtool site. Bummer. But it comes with a 1 year warranty so theres that.

A laser is much simpler than a 3D printer to master. There is practically no learning curve.
@@ElevatedSystems that's very appealing! Now the only thing to overcome is the price.. but first I gotta save up for a 16 inch framework 😇

All of your videos are well produced. Thanks for the vids!

Is it the 10w or 20w model?
Your review was super helpful! Thank you!
This is sick, would love to have access to one of these
if i want to engrave one usb stick , how does this laser machine know where to work on it?
6:25 shows how to position the laser and frame the job. For a USB stick I would try the center position.
Good video
How about an exhaust???

I don't think a noob is really going to buy all of those extras... It would have been better if you just made the video just out of box
