    It appears that your power fail test started the job at the beginning which would double engrave the earlier engraved part of the job. Excellent review.

    Great video. I just received the riser base and conveyor from xTool. I notice in the manual for the riser base that it advises you to not pick up, or move the S1, once the riser base is installed. I assume that is because of the small number of screws holding everything together. Based on that, I don't think I would take it to a craft show.

    • @MoonpieCreations
      @MoonpieCreations  4 місяці тому

      Uh oh I've moved mine a dozen times lol. I hope that doesn't damage it.

  • @BobBob-eh5sb
    @BobBob-eh5sb 4 місяці тому

    Nice review. Interesting comments about the conveyor. If it only does less than 3/4” and it has to be really flat, that could be a problem. I haven’t come across too many boards that were that thin and still perfectly flat. What would the solution be, a taller riser box? Not an expert and haven’t seen one of these in person. But I assume that the laser itself could be raised farther up than the riser does by whatever support as long as it’s stable and level. I’m guessing it’s the height of the conveyor that is limiting workpiece thickness.
    Edit: I just watched another video about the conveyor. I saw on it that the drive roller attachment, whatever it’s really called, is connected to the front of the laser and over the top of the conveyor. So, by seeing that it looks like raising the laser wouldn’t have any effect because the conveyor would have to be raised too. Still like the conveyor idea though.

    • @MoonpieCreations
      @MoonpieCreations  4 місяці тому

      I’ve been playing with it and I’m starting to like it. It allows me to do larger signs on hardwood. I think most of my issues were inexperience with the conveyor system. There are issues with every system I’ve used. The fun part is learning to overcome it. 😂

    Would you recommend the s1 over the d1? I watched your video on the d1 now I feel conflicted and don’t know what the better option might be

    • @MoonpieCreations
      @MoonpieCreations  2 місяці тому +1

      Hey Ashley,
      It really depends on what your plans for use are. The S1 if great for taking with me on events. It also does well with curved surfaces. The D1 is a great stay put machine for me. I can use it for larger engraves and cuts. I don't do many larger engraves or cuts, but I do a lot of curved and batch engraves. So the S1 coupled with the F1 are perfect for me.

    Just purchased my S1 system. Question: other than selecting the materials from their supplied menu, how do you know what power and speed settings to use? Is there a chart somewhere? I wish they showed you the power/speed settings they use with their supplied menu of materials so I could learn more about them.

    • @MoonpieCreations
      @MoonpieCreations  3 місяці тому

      Hey Richard,
      So to find out the settings you can do a test grid on different materials. The link to the ones I made in this video are in the description. If you don't want to do that they have material settings for all their machines here www.xtool.com/pages/material-settings.

    greetings friend, how deep does s1 20w engrave on hard steel and how much does s1 with IR 2w laser? is the engraving easy to remove or is it deeper in the material?

      The whole system in $2,499.99 right now. I'm not sure what you will do with it to tell you if it is worth it for you. I am confident you could make good money with it. It will not cut stainless steel unless it is very thins, but can engrave it. The working area is 19.6"× 12.5"(498*319 mm).
