I know a lot of Bushcraft people use their knife for everything but I think a pack axe is better for cutting fire wood. A bacco saw is good for making shelters. A knife is for cutting rope, processing feather sticks, and processing small game for food. Even a good bush knife will fail if it is used for functions it's not supposed to.
I'd like to see That $100 Dollar knife. go through the same test.
What are the chances ?
Very impressive review and assessment; quite comprehensive and thorough…, and in the rain to boot. Great job.
Thanks I appreciate the comment.
I own this knife. I have no real complaints with it. Its not one of my go to knives because for me the grip is too short. I dont find it all that comfortable.
I also use budget knives. I like your review... Subscribed! Good video...
Thank you. I appreciate the comment and your support.
I have the same knife. Only thing I use it for is fording thru rivers while fishing. So if it gets lost it’s whatever
Enjoyed seeing the trials and tribulations you put that knife through.
Would love to see you put that $3 bootleg Mora that Walmart sells as a bait knife through the test.
What's it going to take to destroy it/its edge, can it feather stick like a boss, shear strips off fatwood, spark a ferro rod, etc. ??
They usually have them in a box on a mid-to-low shelf in the fishing department.
Thank you for the support. I would like to do your idea and test a variety of expensive and cheap knives.
Good video and pretty comprehensive test. I have the same knife and I use it for chopping/hacking and basically just everything that I don't want to put my Mora's through. Honestly it's held up well, the steel certainly isn't great but it keeps it's edge better than expected and I find I use it more often than anything else. Mostly because if I break or destroy it (however unlikely) I can and will replace it with an exact copy from Walmart. You can't expect much for $10.00 but Ive had mine 2+ years and have no complaints. It works and is adequate for my purpose. If I need better, I grab my Mora carbon on the opposite side of my pack and continue. Thanks for the review and keep up the good work.
Thank you. I appreciate the support. I may make more knife videos and do a video with the Mora.
Not sure about that Walmart stuff, but buy a good mora knife for 10-15 dollars and you are 90% covered for any potential circumstances.
(They are certainly more reliable than ANY folding knives, even those for 100-300 dollars. Check UA-camr Joe X, he is testing knives until they break entirely and the mora knives were holding up very well)
That camilius brand camp knife Walmart carries is pretty good actually lol, it used to be sub $10 but now its like $13 or so I think. It would be neat to see you test it like this one, I would actually trust it lol although I would prefer my white river knives ursus 45.
Thank you I'll check it out.
$9 clearance wal mart online 6/17/24 I got one fast shipping
@@LarsSmith-rv4ot nice it'll surprise you actually lol
@@alphaomegasurvivalsupply6548 thanks I have a couple of those multi packs that they have but haven't opened them as of yet. Warrior pack or something like that, don't remember the others name. I've got a Swedge and an old Camillus US pocket knife from the 80's I think.
@LarsSmith-rv4ot that's really cool and their knives used to be really solid since they were making some for the military lol, but that camp knife will surprise you especially if the edge was done right and once you resharpen it then it'll really shine lol
Seems like a good knife especially for the price.
I own this knife. The knife is ok. But just ok. It's at least good enough for the price. It can handle simpler tasks such as opening cans, feathering sticks and cutting meat. But I wouldn't trust it with heavy-duty chores.
Just wondering what's your background like?(military, LEO, survivalist, etc)
ID use it for food prep and leave it there them serrations are worth less decoration
Got it for $6.50 at Walmart
For $10.00 not bad.
I have a couple Ozark trail pocket knives and one fixed blade I want to say something bad about him but I can't they hold an edge they go through some pretty hard stuff and I still have them
I've had two of these (lost the first one). I have no problem with the knife, but the sheath is garbage.
Joe X 2.0
I always cringe when I see someone purposely damaging a product. I know it is often necessary--especially at the factory, but it seems a waste elsewhere. Just use it within its capabilities and it will last longer and it will be a fair fight.
heat treat it , that will improve it.
so i'm guessing 5Cr or 7Cr
Why show a crap knife when you can spend $40 for bk 14 and have a great knife .
Obviously poorly heat treated, So why not heat treat it, I'm sure UA-cam has a how to video or 3, for $10.00 its not a bad knife and knowing what its deficiencies are just correct them, handles of wood could be installed on it, Looks like a basement customizer for fun and maybe turned into a nice backup blade just saying lol
I would not recommend doing that. A cheap steel might not be fit for heat treatment, the colour on the blade might go off and if you don't do it correctly (and you need to know what type of steel is used and how hot/long you have to heat it up etc.) you might just destroy the knife entirely.
Better just buy a mora knife for 10-15 dollars maybe, they have good steel and good heat treatment.
Paracord grip = 0 shock absorption. This knife will hurt you badly when you are at the point to have to rely on it
2:55 this should cut through thick cordage way easier than the sharp edge
3:41 excuse me? U normally carve with that? 🤣
4:31 wtf you hit the small log 3 times and check the edge
5:30 no its because of the grip
7:10 u burried it 0,5mm in the wood and already bend bruh
*promo sm* 😻
That is a trash sheath
