It is good you show, and demonstrate machetes at different price ranges.

For 5 bucks its a steal. It is dull af out of the package but thats why a Dremel should be a standard to have one in every home.

Now you’re down into the price range I’m use to by going into a local hardware store. And just that, going into a local hardware store. By the time I pay international freight and customs add 20-30 USD to that price tag. It looks like a fair machete for the price. While it is good that you explain the factory edge, many spoiled gringos will get turned off, wanting everything done for them and handed to them. Owning a machete is to know how and to put a suitable edge on a machete and to maintain it. Chao de Costa Rica.

There aren’t many people I’d trust with a razor sharp machete right out of the package! 😂
Putting your own edge on a blade is an important skill to learn! Thanks for being here!!!

I am already a fan of Ozark Trail pocket knives and metal water bottles. Not surprised they make a good machete for the price. Will you review ozark trail axes next?

Awesome dude! I had already liked the video as soon as I saw the title. And unfortunately I could only like it once. Thank you for taking me up on my recommendation.
I bought that machete on impulse. I ended up pleasantly surprised just like you were! It's still cheap Chinese steel but seems to be better than most Chinese steels. With a decent edge I bet it could really do some work!
Now, if you need another video idea try the harbor freight machete. But be warned...the quality is vastly different even though the price is about the same. You'll be throwing away about 6 bucks basically but it would make a fun video to see it square off against fatwood 🤣🤣

It’s my pleasure! I’m just glad we have a community here that actually comments and offers suggestions! I’ll be going to harbor freight today! We haven’t had a good epic fail video in a while and I’d like to see just how bad that thing is!!😂😂

If you want a heavy duty option get the Fiskar saw knife blade, that sucker will saw through thick brush and possibly little trees QUICKLY. It has good length to it and it is "teeth" on it that are very prickly(almost needle-like) to the touch. You'd have to see it to believe it!
However, I lost mine and went looking for that at a nearby Wal-Mart(small market city). They did not have it or anything that was enough like it. So, I basically got this Ozark Trails blade because I thought it should allow me to start holes in the ground for digging, it is also near the length that my hole is supposed to be, it was $7, and I saw a another review about how it was better than his more expensive machete! Glad to have found this, as it should serve my purposes well and--seeing how durable/effective it is in action--I should be able to use it for way more than just that. IT SHOULD BE A PART OF EVERYONE'S TOOLKIT!

Awesome review and cutting test. I got mines for $5. Also good quality. Walmart's common item. For $5 can't go wrong and worth buying.

the biggest question about cheap products isn't about are they functional for the intended purpose is about how durable are they (how much action can they take before they become unusable)
