I’ve been a Cubase user since v1, but still get a great deal out of your videos. It’s too easy to fall into patterns: using the same workflow and tools, so huge thanks for reminding me of the various options.

nice vid as ever, Chris! I´m not a fan of this modern drum warp quantize functions, same goes for guitar alignment.
"Slip editing" and adjusting transients/sustain parts by hand sounds way better and natural. (I use group events + ALT cut + slip editing since the old Cubase 5 or so ;)

    Love this thank you!!
Can you show us how to easily comp a single final drum performance from multiple takes?

I wish someone would do these demonstrations with a more complicated beat with ghost notes and fills etc

I'm either doing method one or two. Slip editing will give less errors because you're doing it manually, but it will take longer. Quantizing works great for the most part in Cubase, but as you see in this video, it may have some errors, such as sliding the note to the wrong place, even if you are at the right quantize. Another problem is that not all of the hitpoints are accurate, so you would have to go in and manually fix up the hitpoint.

You are the greatest! I would say there is a fourth way, adjusting the audio warp manually. THANK YOU SO MUCH BROTHER!

🤔🤔🤔 I should give a try again to the warping and/or slicing tool...
always slicing and moving all manually is very time consuming.... but by now was the only way I could get good results in metal... Thanks Selim

I'm a Studio one user and I love it but there's a few things you've shown in Cubase that are really impressive.

Hi, I´m a former hardcore S1 user. Now back on Cubase 13 and finally very happy, I must say. Cubase now has all the functions that made S1 great (way more dragdrop, effects on audio events, simple browser plus plugin pics, lower zone, more inserts, bezier curves, e.g.) BUT Cubase has much more to offer! I can´t live without the BEST flexible mix console and the Control Room, the fast SamplerTrack, much better professional stock effects/vstis, automatic vocal alignment!, much more extensive MIDI editing and chord possibilities... and the very inspiring modern sample content (the free 5 GB orchestral sounds no to forget!). C13 highly recommend, no doubt.

I have a question for quantizing or syncing up 2 full multitrack drum kits to each other. For example I track one kit with shells only, the next kit is cymbals only but with triggers from pads to simulate the shells but seeing as it is an Ekit only the cymbals are in the mics. What I want to do is quantiize or sync up Kit B (cymbals) to Kit A the acoustic shells. I want to have the Kick and snare kits line up with each other. is there a way to globally do it? I dont want to quantize the groove of Kit A- just leave as is (tracking very good drummers) Hope my question makes sense. Great channel by the way !

Nice content Chris ! I do it manually .. but I will try equal power fades if you recommend them….. I’m not a fan of audio warp I think the artefacts it creates take some of the tone out of the drums and make it sound like a bad quality mp3 vibe

Personally I use Slip editing. More tedious but I was taught this way because it keeps everything in phase better than anything within a full mix.

Hello, I would like to ask you, I work with Cubase, and every time I save a project backup, (I save it on a disk separate from the operating system)(I work on win 10) my local disk c, disk where I have the operating system and cubase, my c drive is filling up more and more, could you tell me why that happens to me? I don't understand it, because I am not saving the projects on the c drive. I would like to know your opinion. thank you so much.

I usually do this manually, but instead of moving the events, I use slip editing, which, in my opinion, is much more suitable for this kind of editing. Doing this manually takes a bit more time, but at least then I know that everything is in order. However, if someone paid me to do this, I'd probably take a faster route ;)
