      Thanks for the link. Yes, I did notice that optic is not light weight wise. However, certainly has a decent build quality. Plus, Trijicon needs to introduction when it comes to reputation. I already have some of their other optics on my other rifles and never had any issues with any one of them. I don’t expect this one to be any different. Thanks for chiming in! 🙏

      @@mrchow489 in this day and age that’s actually not a bad price to be honest. Is that OTD price? Or do you still have to pay taxes and other fees on top that price? Either way that doesn’t sound like a bad price. Knowing these rifles are not always available, if you really want one I would capitalize on that opportunity. I got mine for ~$2,800 almost two years ago and that was after military/law enforcement discount. It’s hard to believe that you can really find these rifles for anything less as they’re always on demand and there aren’t enough supplies. It took me some time before I found mine. Hope this helps.

      I know right. If there's anything that always disappoints me with HK products then it's their packaging. Don't get me wrong I love HK products and I can't appreciate enough their build quality and engineering. However, when it comes to packaging and including basic package parts HK is one of the cheapest manufactures that I know. I mean they charge very premium prices, but almost always they never fail to disappoint me with their cheap packaging. 😁 My Mark 23 came inside the small black plastic box that looked like it was meant for sub $300 handgun. Lol. But anyway, as long as they live up to legendary HK quality and reliability I can cope with all that funny stuff. 😊 Have a great one!!

      It's a phenomenal platform without a doubt. I served in the military with M4/M16 rifles. And I always hated it when heavy rain and sand would cause malfunctions. After military one day I tried an AK at the range (I rented it) and I immediately fell in love with it. Long story short it got to the point that I got rid of all my ARs and only had AKs. Nonetheless, when I heard about this HK MR rifles I decided to check them out. So I went to my local HK dealer where they had both M762 and MR556. As soon as I picked MR762 up I noticed there's a significant quality difference compared to other high end AR rifles. There's no rattling, shaking, there's nothing cheap about it. It felt solid and heavy. I shot few rounds through it and I said to myself this is no regular AR. So I ended up going home with that MR762 on that day. 😁 And several months later I decided to add MR556 to my collection as well. Both are amazing rifles. This must be the pinnacle of AR platform. They're reliable, accurate and well build. If there's any flaw then it has to be its weight and price. I still very much consider myself as an AK fan, but if I were to pick an AR then it'll be HK MR series. 😊

      Holly cow 😳 And do you still have to have 10 round magazine and shark fin grip after paying close to $4K? I wouldn’t pay that much money for any AR-15 variant rifle to be honest no matter the manufacture. I paid $3,600 for my MR762A1 and that’s HK’s AR-10. Don’t get me wrong, these are fine rifles and probably the most refined AR-15 out there. But $3,800 is a lot of money for a rifle that only shoots 5.56x45. That price is 7.62 NATO caliber rifle territory any day in my book.

      I don’t blame you. I was just in L.A. not too long ago, went there from work. No offense, but I don’t think I would want to live there. While nature and food was great, that’s where good things about the place ended. Prices were outrageous and all those COVID-19 mandates were too excessive in my opinion. I live in Florida and comparing everything to what we have here in my home state made it feel like California was a totally different country. While all those stringent rules and ridiculous prices weren’t all that something completely new to me since we used to live in New York City before. However, it’s been few years since we moved to Florida and seeing those living conditions brought some not so pleasant memories from our times in New York. If you can I’d highly recommend moving elsewhere where you can own the things you love and live your life the way you want it. It’s quite pleasant. 5.56x45 caliber already doesn’t carry much recoil to begin with compared to 7.62x39, not to mention much larger 7.62 NATO. And its noticeable weight only helps to minimize that recoil. After owning it for almost a year or maybe even a tad more I still can’t find any flaws or shortcomings with this rifle. The only two (somewhat) negatives I can think of about this rifle are:
      1. It’s not cheap by any means.
      2. It’s significantly heavy compared to any average AR (5.56) rifle.

      I personally find it to be adequately gassed but I have also heard some folks said it’s bit over gassed. I’m more used to shooting AK pattern rifles and compared to my Galils this MR556 has quite soft recoil. It’s hardly noticeable to be honest. It’s front heavy due to that M-LOK grip. Thus, it helps to mitigate abrupt muzzle rises too. And it’s super accurate too for what it is. It’s by far the most accurate AR pattern rifle that I have ever come across. This and my MR762 both are very accurate rifles.

Then again I wouldn’t ever claim I saw ALL available AR platforms in the world by any means. 😊 However, while serving in United States Army under Special Operations Command and still being around firearms after separating from the military I think I was exposed to few higher end AR platforms during my days. And by far in my opinion HK’s MR series are the highest quality and superior AR rifles that I’ve been exposed to. As always opinions are always subjective. KAC SR-15's are not 5 grand, they're about half that. Just because impatient people over pay doesn't mean you can't still get them at retail if you're patient. As for fit and finish, they build combat grade, not presentation grade weapons. And to set the record straight I'm more of an HK fanboy. I have plenty of their pistols, to be honest HK's fit and finish/ OC has been slipping as of late. Many small blemishes on my recent HK pistol purchases.

    • @AdoreYouInAshXI
      @AdoreYouInAshXI 2 роки тому +2

      @@-Cold-World I don't disagree with certain things you've said. But you do sound fanboyish over KAC. I agree that the HK is a bit outdated, mainly because of the weight and the fact that the lowers aren't ambi. Those two reasons are why I won't buy one. But price wise, at $2900ish that's pretty much in line and reasonable for what you'd expect to pay for a piston AR from one of the most well respected, hardcore military/contract secured manufacturers in the industry.
      And my points about KAC still stand. There is a difference in patience and absurdity. Patience is waiting for 6 months to a year or so. SR-15's haven't been readily available for years. And in the current climate they won't be available for years. Between extremely limited production and extremely high demand... they just aren't obtainable for most people, and aren't an option. Most people don't have $2800 to drop the very second one pops up (before it gets snagged by a bot or some rich Fudd), assuming one ever actually does get restocked. This may not be a negative directly tied to the gun itself, but it's definitely a huge negative for anyone that needs to buy a rifle within even somewhat of a reasonable amount of time. Uppers alone are easily going for $3200 or more, and have been for a LONG time. You can't even buy stripped uppers and lowers to build one.
      As for fit and finish, both LMT and HK (as well as other reliable, much cheaper manufacturers) can build a reliable gun that's "combat grade" and still have a tight tolerance between the upper and lower that doesn't rattle like a baby rattle. Can still apply finishes that match. Don't typically ship rifles with shimmed/huge gapped handguards. Much cheaper rifles ship with Geissele triggers, hell, even a stock BCM trigger is better than Knights $300 trigger that ships with the SR-15. The safeties are notorious for being mushy. And now they ship with a shitty Magpul MOE stock, don't they? They can't even give you a CTR?
      It's not like I hate KAC. I respect the hell out of them taking the stoner design and making a few changes to improve the bolt. The gas system is a bit gimmicky though. When I owned my KAC I couldn't feel any difference in the recoil impulse, at all, between it and my BCM mid. And the BCM was all stock (birdcage flash hider), KAC had their three prong.
      But still, assuming you could buy one for MSRP they are worth it, mainly because they're extremely light, have a nice ambi lower and handle really well. But LMT and LWRC both have them far beat, imo. LMT is somewhat in the same boat as far as availability, but they can actually be found from time to time, they actually come out with new models (like making the R20 available for civis), and you can usually always find an upper and lower in stock at MSRP to build with. Plus you get a monolithic upper, maintain decent weight, much better receiver fitment and they offer more options such as quad or mlok (I'm still a big fan of quads).

      For starters I think build quality is night and day different. I had a fully built by Palmetto State Armory AR-10 myself and know about their qualities. Don’t get me wrong they’re decent for what they are and for how much they cost. However, there’s no way PSA can compete with these HK ARs. Barrel quality, rifling of these HK barrels will blow any AR out of the water and not just PSA’s. Not to mention their reliability and accuracy. I shoot you not there was no instance where my PSA AR-10 shot one whole magazine without at least one malfunction. At first I thought it was something wrong with my ammo choice, so changed that. But failures kept happening. Then I sent to PSA back to have them take a look at it. After I got it back it still had some issues where I wasn’t fully convinced about the gun so I sold it to a pawn shop since nobody in the private market wanted it. I ended losing money on the gun. Mind you it was the first time where I sold any of my guns for less than I bought them for. Lesson was learned. So for my next AR I went with MR762 and consequently MR556. If I had to do it again I would jump on the HK right from the beginning and don’t even look at anything else. These are truly a pinnacle of AR platform. You just have to see it/try it for yourself to see what I’m talking about.

      It is heavy no doubt about that. But I can assure it’s quite accurate. If you’re good with PSA imagine how much more accurate you can get with HK’s match barrel. There’s a reason why most elite military/law enforcement units picked these rifles as their weapon of choice. Like I said you have to see it for yourself in order to fully understand what I mean. I personally would take one HK over 10 PSA’s. I’m an AK guy myself but if there’s one AR that I can rely on with my life then it’s HK MR rifles whether it’s 556 or 762.
