World tree makes all your lands rainbow, so you don't have to think too hard there either. I think it mostly comes down to praetors being better than gods. They've got much bigger bodies and more generically powerful abilities than the kaldheim ones
Yep. Kaldheim gods were pretty niche.
Yep gods are way more inconsistent. Theros gods need devotion to be a creature and attack. Amonkhet gods have their own requirements to attack. Kaldheim gods are all over the place on usefulness just as a beater.
Meanwhile Praetors have good stats AND either ETB effects or effects that shift the game state in your favor. Praetors just work once on board, too many Gods require you to be built just right for them to matter.
@@nate_venture Also, we have more praetors than the world tree got gods. Visiting the same topic over the course of three sets really helps to bulk out a mechanic and flesh out a world.
@@derrickthewhite1 Imagine if there was a publishing plan, where you would release sets in "blocks", so you got to get a good look at a plane, its story, and its mechanics, everything by the end being really fleshed out. You could even have a format dedicated to only playing in those "blocks". Would be quite amazing
This tree's ability to ramp seems really strong. World tree was a land, which is obviously really good, but by itself the card didn't help you get there. Whereas this tree being able to repeatedly ramp you for 2 mana seems really good for helping you get to the 10 mana

@@dennismonk9559 The "VIP" tags suggest this was during a streamer preview event, in which case there would be a much smaller pool of players than open Arena play.

I was in Hamhocks stream when you did this and he literally couldn't do anything because of elish norn. He said it was the coolest thing he has seen out of the new set!
My only suggestion would be add some Blue triomes. You often had Jin stuck in hand and only have 1 island. So a Spara's Headquarters can be tutored with Vorinclex for the second blue source.

Well, in the story, the praetor don't really get along. Elesh Norn has Sheodred and Urabrask killed so I guess that explains why they didn't do too well in the story.

also starting a war on multiple front is like so stupide. It cool story wise but as far as strategie go it unbelivably poor choice making
Elesh Norn also had Jin bind the Glistening Oil to New Phyrexia for some reason so when..it was taken care of the entire new Phyrexian army apparently poofed. This was not a well written story.
Next level of this deck: Take it to Explorer, use Yorion, and include all of the modern praetors.
Next step, get all the praetors, not just every iteration of the famous five
When I got Realmbreaker during the pre-release draft, my first thought was, "Cool, this synergizes with Ebon Praetor from Fallen Empires."
Ha, me too. Ebon Praetor has some of my favorite art in all Magic.
Don't forget Sanguine Praetor from Guildpact!
Wilderness Reclamation + Realmbreaker allows for it to combo out on T5. It's janky, but it can definitely be played in older formats as well.
Wilderness Reclamation is illegal in every single format available in Arena.

I would have loved seeing the phyrexians conquer a few planes and the war dragging out a bit more like a real war
They did more or less conquer many of them, like theros
Plus the war has been going on since kaldheim
The guy twincasting breaches and invokes with chandra was living the dream.
In historic, the first urabrask is a haste enabler for the entire bunch to swing all at once
you also get old elesh to immediately torpedo their board, and then if they're still alive their hand is gone bc jin.

Wouldn't Mirror box/legend rule cheating let you take every copy of every praetor out of the deck?
You could totally find multiple copies of Sheoldred or Vorinclex for multiple ETB triggers. I think you can even find multiple Moms to get even more triggers.
I've been running Realmbreaker in my Tasha Historic Brawl deck, and it really hasn't disappointed yet, despite only actually activating the second ability once (the deck runs both Sheoldred and Sheoldred the Apocalypse, as well as Jin-Gitaxia Core Augur). That deck runs mill to stock the graveyard, and so there is never a lack of lands in the enemy graveyard. Ramping each turn for 2 is just extremely powerful, paricularly given that the creatures in the deck are top-level threats (Praetors, Hullbreaker, Toxrill, etc.).
This is one of my most original tribal commander decks. I love to play it! Glad to see you play similar deck in another format. Great content!
I just love doing this!! Some people call this unfair but if gods are allowed to do it then I say let the praetors have their turn. also doing this in historic brawl or commander is crazy as you have access to all 16 praetors and with the sneaky little haste enabler that is urabrask means I attack for big and that's game

They lost in the end because it wasn't them against one other player's forces, it was them versus every other player's forces.
8:00 they took over a bunch but when the portals closed the oil stopped working because the effects dont carry over planes

Given how powerful some battle's ETBs are, I wonder if there's going to be a Battle Mom deck? If nothing else, doubling up Invasion of Ikoria to grab two creature with cool ETBs seems like it'd be ridiculously sweet.

Wizards as of MoM: "LOL just kidding. The Phyrexians were declawed kittens all along and couldn't do anything, so everything the main characters did really was unnecessary."
I'd love to see a take on this in MTGO for 16 different praetors instead of just the 10 in standard.

YES. YES IT IS. Thank god someone prominent actually said it. I primarily play best of 1 as I'm a casual player with time constraints (while I'll play some more casual decks I'll build them and play them as well as possible), and the disparity in your chance to win between going first and second is huge, probably in the range of 15-20% (the last figure I saw was from a few years ago, but said the average winrate of a player going second in historic Bo1 was 43% - so 14% WL disparity).
Given that it seems to be one of their main game modes, it's pretty crazy that they haven't tried to balance it at all. The balance of "well, half the time you'll go first" doesn't exactly feel good when you lose multiple games to your opponent having one extra turn (often, they'll beat you either the turn before you would've stabilized, or the turn before you would've won yourself).
man if only this was historic so we could see the original praetors too

Note that Changelings also count as Praetors. I'm debating doing a Commander deck like this with all the praetors and several of the Changelings with maybe Morophon the Boundless as commander.
If you combine realmbreaker with maskwood nexus, you can summon what you want

Realmbreaker is what The World Tree should have been. I’ve never gotten all the gods to enter the battlefield
I did this in a real game with a buddy and he straight up said it’s illegal and absolutely unfair… I love it haha.

Hey, Seth. I think it's great that you are so worried about being respectful and all, you are such a sweet person, but I think when you do a Realmbreaker deck, put a bunch of Preators on the battlefield, on early access day, you are allowed to have some fun!
Flip them to have a bunch of busted sagas, do some durdly stuff, see how they will play out. This is your moment! If opp doesn't want to see all the fun stuff, they can just concede.
They are told by wotc to not concede or bm each other. They want people to not concede to show off the set. Seth knows the other person is streaming and it doesn't look great if that person has to sit there and be in a losing game forever
I miss playing jank IRL. I once won a local game night with the jankiest hero of iroas deck that could turn 4 people. The gods were on my side that day, cause I nut drew twice in a row after managing to scrape my way to the finals. and the other guy basically only got to play lands. He said it was crazy awesome and everyone was happy cause I never won, always playing homebrew jank with no reguards to the metagame.
Now that im better at brewing and playing on arena it feels like everyones too salty to appreciate getting hit for 28 damage on turn 4.

#1 You are missing the other Vorinclex, #2 this deck would work even better when adapted to historic as you can add another version of each praetor.

Well, when you split all your power among numerous planes, each of which has at least One being that at least Equals one of the Preators if not more then yeah you are gonna get stomped. Consider that Tarkir was one of the Planes Invaded and they are ruled by 5 Elder Dragons..unless you bring some heavy fire power you ain't invading that plane easily...and every plane has something akin to that.
The Phyrexians had zero hope of winning from the outset just based on the amount of Planar level threats they would have to overcome at once...Sure you corrupt Heliod..and then the other Gods turn on you and bring the pain (as well as the titans). Sure you Corrupt Etali..but you have 5 Other Elder Dinos including the strongest one to contend with.

You are referring to the first printed Jin-Gitaxias, (Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur) which has flash and does what you remember.
There have been two new Jin's since then: Jin-Gitaxias, Progress Tyrant (Kamigawa Neon Dynasty), and Jin-Gitaxias (March of the Machines)
Man poor Vorinclex being from Kaldheim which was SO long ago in the distant past of Feb 2021 so he's not in standard at the same time as all the rest.
