Yorion's important in this deck because it lets Seth draw more cards. A deck that's 33% bigger means that you can draw 33% more cards - that's just basic math.
let me just do some scryfall-ing real quick... ok, i found seth's next deck: Elesh Norn Yarok Panharmonicon Annointed Procession Doubling Season Kaya Parallel Lives Reflections of Littijara Necroduality Miirym lands? interaction? what are you talking about? this zombie-elemental-dragon-token tribal deck is perfect!
to be fair, making 16 copies of bladewing using irenicu's vial duplication and returning 128 terror of the peaks to the battlefield somehow seems pretty decent
Ironically, you just need to do zombie dragon tribal, or more accurately dragon tribal with maskwood nexus or arcane adaptation to name zombies. Everything else just needs to be good etb dragons
I do enjoy the Explorer content. There's definitely some room for brews and build-around cards/decks. You just need to put up with some Karn + Nykthos degeneracy here and there.
I want full panharmonicon tribal when elesh norn comes out! Isshin, elesh, EVERYTHING that you can get that doubles something else. Also Seth if you see this, I beat an oracle of the alpha deck using a deck that has 4 colossal dreadmaw and a bunch of cloning stuff lol
Great video Seth. It’s more situational but maybe consider glass casket instead of touch? It’s and artifact and interacts with panharmonicon. Any deck with urza is a deck I’m down to try.
That's a tough one. Glass Casket is good with Panharmonicon because it double triggers, but Touch is pretty good too since it can blink our creatures to reuse their ETBs, maybe there's a way to play both.
@@MTGGoldfish i think maybe cutting fblthip and maybe a land? or maybe the portable holes. it makes the 2 drop slot a little more clogged but in a deck where we're just trying to get to value town i dont think having more cheap interaction is a bad thing
I don‘t play MTG anymore but I come back to this channel once year to see if there are some new Panharmonicon shenanigans going on. I was not disappointed
I shall bathe myself in wine and gold I will tear the arteries of cosmos so it may bleed Behold the malignant salvo of my crimes Abysmal eons that have wandered by Where would I seek the truth but here Where mutiny and chaos bloom?
A good card for those kind of deck is the teleportation circle. Witch let you bounce a creature or artifact during your end step. So free etb effects. Ive built some crazy deck with it.
It's the cost of playing Eldrazi Displacer, we need lands that make colorless, although it is possible I went a bit too deep on them and we could trim back a bit.
Match 4, when first sideboarding, im surprised you didn't consider dovins veto... certainly I would consider that a solid counter against combo shenanigans Edit: And you immediately crush him in the second match lol
I love this archetype almost as much as blood autistocrats (oc do not steal) but my god that play at 19:55 by the phoenix player was pretty fun. Lightning axe discard a phoenix kill your own thing to bring back three phoenix. Wew lad. Also uhh I hope you realize during your games but the reason people don’t “just play [eldrazi] displacer” is because of how painful and difficult the land requirements are. You have to run pain lands to get the mana for both eldrazi _and_ non-eldrazi.
There is a Kinnan+Emry+Engine combo deck that did some stuff when Uro was still legal in Historic for a solid backup plan, but without it the deck kind of gets destroyed by Rakdos.
It's mostly at an awkward point on the curve since we already have a four-mana do nothing in Panharmonicon (and this build really wants Thought-Knot Seer too). It's good with Panharmonicon, but I wish it was three mana :)
@@MTGGoldfish Makes sense sadly. Well, I'll try it in historic brawl as soon as they release the new Elesh Norn. Thanks for the great content as always!
Why so many Shefet Dunes and Ipnu Rivulets? I get the Rivulets for self-mill late with Portal, but I don't understand the Dunes other than just colorless mana sources for displacers and seers
I have a volo guide to monsters commander deck. I had sakashima a thousand voices copy volo. I was then gonna cast a spell cmc 4 with a kicker of 5. If you pay the kicker cost into of the spell cost you create 5 volo. 7 total volos and I had panhormonica on field too. My friend countered... I was sad
This REALLY shows just how bat-shit powerful mono-black is. Your playing Explorer, yet you face a Standard deck like 3 times and it still was considered powerful and difficult. Reminds me of "Eldrazi Summer" when the Standard Eldrazi deck was dominating Modern so bad they banned like 3 cards. WOTC be like "I see no problems. Buy more proxies!"
monoblack isn't good in standard nor explorer. In standard grixis, esper, monowhite, monoblue, monored, naya enchants, naya reanimator, izzet ramp, and jeskai ramp, are all much better.
There's also this annoying standard deck in UW that's Angel Tribal that I keep having to face that you might want to check into for a future standard episode
Decks like that that require a lot of cklicking are almost unplayable on MTGA because unlike on Magic Online you don`t have a personal timer. It`s one of the drawbacks of a digital client that you could just shortcut in paper.
“Hole the Elf.” -Seth (aka SaffronOlive) There’s probably a lewd joke in here somewhere but I can’t find it. Edit: “If we had another hole we would hole the wolf too.” -also Seth
What's the point of running Shefet Dunes over some basic Plains? It's not exactly a go-wide deck where the buff is relevant. Seems like an actively bad choice made only to upset Tomer.
The main idea is to have lands that make colorless mana for Eldrazi Displacer's blink ability (which needs colorless mana), and also to cast Thought-Knot Seer. In this deck Shefet Dunes is almost a dual land, making white and colorless.
I H A T E pain lands. I have zero idea why anyone would ever use them. They are the worst lands ever printed that people use. I have never seen them be of use when there is literally any other option (which there always is). Basic lands are superior to those miserable lands.
We need an ultimate Panharmonicon Against the Odds with Panharmonicon, Yarok, and new Elesh Norn when new set drops.
12-harmonicon. Naming magic decks is starting to look like an exercise in organic chemistry.
Make it wizards or shamans and also use harmonic prodigy or just wizards and also naban, Dean of iteration
And make it 80 cards in explorer or pioneer so you can play yorion for that extra etb value
Also with some number of rhinos
Seth, you could do a panharmonicon tribal deck!

ok, i found seth's next deck:
Elesh Norn
Yarok
Panharmonicon
Annointed Procession
Doubling Season
Kaya
Parallel Lives
Reflections of Littijara
Necroduality
Miirym

51:58 I love when Seth just acknowledges his mispronunciation of "Otawara" as "Ottawa" by saying, "send it to the Great White North".
seth losing to his own brew was perfect
I was hoping on the first match he would mill out mono green with their own cavalier using displacer lol
Ohh, that would have been funny, I should have tried to do that!
@@MTGGoldfish well there are more shenanigans to be had in the future lol
Thanks for the content!
Would've worked, too. They thinned out their deck by a ton with the Nissa ultimate. Honestly, it very well could have been the correct line.

I like Explorer content because I can pretend it’s Pioneer content. 😅
Wow Eldrazi Displacer is just the absolute VIP here. Astongishingly good against a lot of different, frequently played cards.

Love the handlock with the eldrazi’s. Love to do a similar thing with flipped fable and things like citystalker connoisseur.
Another great video brother Set. I really like Urza so this was a good one for me. Keep it up for 2023.

"No one played panharmonicon, well no one except MEEEE played panharmonicon anymore" I laugh everytime i hear it
At 48:06, why target the cloudblazer over the skyclave? Wouldn't having it blink and target the bonecrusher save both?
that third match was crazy, great content as always!
Seth I didn't know you were a fan of the strokes! One of my faves
11:21 What do you mean? “Plow your mom” is a play you see in Legacy all the time.

"Smoke'em if You got'em!" Cloudblazing since Kaladesh!
Seems like the deck should play more basics over so many deserts so you’re not taking 5+ damage from your own lands every game
He's playing that many deserts so he can cast the eldrazi with colorless mana
@@josed.9874 True, but he rarely needs more than 1 colorless mana and between field of ruin and mightstone I think just a few deserts would suffice
