Great video. I could not agree more to keep it simple. Allrounder in a fridge! No hassle with glycol, no condensation on floor, takes up less space, can see what is happening, tip upside down to collect yeast for repitching and best of all the cheapest option that can naturally carbonate!
Good stuff!
I always did it your way but i always felt so much aromas gas off during fermentation. I invested in the hop bong so i can add dry hops at low temps (after fermentation) and not worry to much about oxygen. I guess we'll see if it makes an improvement.
I use the hop bong when its available but if it isn't no worries at all. Cheers!
Hey Gash would you also do it like this even after ferment is completed? No bag with magnets, no hop bong or anything?
I use a hop bong when i have the option, no worries at all, never bothered with bags and magnets though, hop bags are a nightmare and often an infection. Cheers!
@@HomeBrewNetwork yeah I've only tried the bag and magnet option twice so far. Both times the bag dropped too soon. Probably because the krausen from Verdant IPA went so high it made contact with the bag and made everything heavier. Might have to invest in the hop bong for post fermentation hop charges
Great advice I love it cheers 👍🍻
Thank you! I use the hop bong when its available but if it isn't no worries at all. Cheers!
Fxxk me.Finally someone on the same page .So much wank online when it comes to dry hopping techniques.
Glad you posted this gash 🤙🏼
are you doing this during ferm or afterwards?
usually a point or two before the end, depends on the beer. Cheers!
I agree good advice these gadgets they make like the hop bong for the fermzilla absolute garbage they leek can never maintain the proper pressure.
The old way is still the best way open lid and chuck
the hops in.
Hop Bongs work, but it sounds like you maybe be using them different to how I do, I don't put the hop bong on till I'm going to use it, I use it, and then take it straight off, it never stays on. Cheers!
You’re right they do work and sometimes they get stuck…I don’t
leave mine on there..but for the trouble you have to go for setting up purging with CO2 it’s easier just to open lid like you demonstrated quicker and easier no mucking around…you’re beer is still fermenting away and producing Co2 on the surface I’ve never had oxidation in any of my beer 🍺
Cheers good 👍 video
@tonytribisonna9886 hmmm. I literally just finished dry hopping for the very 1st time with the hop bong (keg land) and it was pretty simple. But my Co2 is always set up ready to go.
Don’t have a problem with the hop bong some people like… I’m not a big fan the 2 inch butterfly valve that sits on top
big and bulky and I’ve had problems sealing up tri clover fittings where never designed for plastic..work well on stainless steel and so on.
I’ve released pressure from my fermenter unscrewed Co2 cap
Place funnel in hole add hops seal back up purge with Co2 works well for me.
Keeping it simple. 😎👍
oath mate
@@HomeBrewNetwork lol oath 😎👍
Nice easy as 🤘🏻🍺
Sure is!
