    Compatible with the AirSense 10 & 11
4.4/5 Stars is still a very good score and there are far more positive reviews compared with negative ones. I do feel that they could have done better though and it's certainly not better than the AirSense 10 although slightly smaller and lighter.

I went from the 10 to the 11, and I love it! I don’t have any of the problems that have been mentioned in reviews! It is quite and gives me a report each day! I love it and don’t have a problem with running out of water! So far, so good! ❤

I haven't experienced any of the issues presented in the video, either. I love my 11 but am considering picking up a 10 as a travel/back-up machine, mainly because I like the idea of its larger blower doing less work to achieve the same result as the 11. However, one of my favorite features on the 11 is the ability to control smart start and smart stop separately. From what I can tell via a few retailers with whom I've chatted -- and someone please correct me if I'm wrong -- this feature is not available on the 10's (it's both or none). I was also surprised to learn that the humidifier capacity for both machines is identical, 380ml, so no improvement on that front either by backing into a 10. I basically try to go through a whole chamber-full of water and no more each night. Depending the time of year and weather conditions, I'll adjust the manual humidification setting to achieve that. No problem.

Due to reviews, we ALMOST went with the AS 10, but we wanted the features of the AS 11 as well as wanting to avoid the issue where the AS 10 might lose cell service due to 3G being done away with.
We also have not had a single issue like people reported. For the first few nights, we filled the tub it to the top line, only to find out that in the morning, it was still 1/2 full (ish).
So after that, we just fill to just above the 1/2 line and it's been fine. We do have it set to Auto for humidifier.
As for noise, it's silent. I don't know what people are going on about, UNLESS, it makes noise if the pressure is set high, like 10 or 12. Perhaps then it's an issue. I don't know. This one is only set to 5 for now. No noise at all.
Reporting is nice, even though it's very basic using MyAir. But I did pop in an SD card and downloaded OSCAR. With that, the info is much more detailed.
      So far, so good.

I'm new to CPAP therapy and I have the Resmed Airsense 11. I have yet to spill a drop of water and I don't remove the lid. I lay the reservoir on a table and open the top (not all the way because that's what causes it to topple), then I pour the water into the chamber and snap it shut. I push it right in with no issues. I haven't had any issues pulling it out either and I'm 65 yrs old with arthritis on my right thumb. As for the sound, I have not encountered that issue either. I think it's amazingly quiet. I noticed from reading product reviews on Amazon, that when a person doesn't know how to operate an item or don't bother to read manuals, they immediately give poor reviews. I'm not saying that's the case here because many of the negative reviews came from seasoned CPAP users. But I find it hard to believe that so many people dislike the Resmed 11. I think it's stylish and looks good in any decor. It doesn't look like hospital equipment so that's a huge plus! I don't know, maybe I'll update my comment if I come across any issues. Thanks Nicko! I really enjoy your videos and have learned so, so much from you in such a short time. Thanks mate! Cheers! 🇺🇸

Same just got mine.. only problem I'm having is when I shut it off in the middle of the night to go to the restroom I struggle to get it back on. On the 10 there is a button on the front that would reset it. Where is that button on the 11?

I completely agree with you. The seal on the water chamber has some give, so a gentle squeeze and pull is all it needs to come out easily. When the seal springs back it helps keep the chamber in place. Personally, I prefer the side loading design over the hinged, button design of the Dreamstation. In my experience, if the moving parts break, they are more expensive to replace than the water chamber on its own.

For years the cpap market has been largely shared by the Philips-Respironics and Resmed duo. Since Philips-Respironics dropped the ball, it's not surprising that Resmed has slacked off, too. We need some real competition in the marketplace to keep these guys sharp!

New CPAP user. I hav had the 11 for six weeks. I haven’t had any of the issues brought up. They told me when I received the unit to only fill to below the max letters. It’s never leaked or run out of water. For this in dry climates it may be different. No WiFi issues and really quiet. Thank you for your videos. I watched several after I was told that I needed a CPAP machine. Yours are the best out there!

Cheers mate, appreciate that great feedback brother. The humidifier is 'designed' to hold 380ml. That's what's stated in the manual and people do buy these machines on that info as they don't want the water to run out during the night as it causes all sorts of problems. To hold 380ml it needs to be filled to the line which is above the MAX letters. Advising people not to fill it to that level so it doesn't spill is fine but you shouldn't need a workaround solution. You should be able to fill it with the stated capacity without it leaking everywhere. Cheers mate

@@CPAPReviews I find the A11 is a more responsive device so if the environmental air is more dry than of course it's going to use more water. I live in a very dry, cold climate. I use a cheap 1 gallon room humidifier especially when my furnace kicks in, and sometimes when the air conditioning is on. For 6 - 7 hrs of avg usage I use less than a half chamber of water. I love my A11 over my A10.

I’ve been using a cpap machine for 23 years, am on my fifth machine. 4 resmeds and one respironics. The respironics was garbage so I used my previous resmed until I was eligible for a new one. The new one is an 11 and I love it. By far the best machine I have ever had. Quiet and great tank capacity.

Less than a week ago, I got a new ResMed Airsense 11 from the local VA hospital. This is my first cpap machine.
It is almost perfectly quiet. Many of the reviewers said, "The machine is too noisy."
I have not spilled water from the tank even once. Many of the reviewers said, "The water tank spills too easily ... "
In eight hours of sleep, my tank drained from the maximum water line, to just below lower line. (All of my cpap's settings are set on automatic). Some of the reviewers said, "The cpap machine uses too much water."
The water tank opens easily, with almost zero effort. Some of the reviewers said, "It's too hard to open the water tank ... "
The tank is easily removed from the tank well. The tank is easily placed into the tank well. Some reviewers said, "it's too hard to (remove the tank)/(put the tank into the well)."
When I place the water tank into the tank well, it slides in smoothly, and the tank's water tube seals properly. Some reviewers said, "The water tank's tube doesn't seal properly."
So far, the reviewer's statements do not represent my experiences.
You reviewers must be at least ten percent smarter than the machine that you are operating.

Well, the thing is that compared to the S9 (and apparently the AirSense 10), I think the 11 is actually worse on all of these points. You may think the 11 is quiet, but it's still worse than the S9 and 10, because of its smaller higher-rpm fan with annoying tonality. And sure, I don't think it's "too hard" to open the water tank, but it's still needlessly cumbersome compared to the tank for the S9 (and apparently the 10).
I'm not saying you're wrong, it's just that since this is your first machine, you don't have the comparative experience of the older machines. 🙂
That said, a 1 star review for the 11 is very unfair. It isn't a bad machine at all, but it could be better (and I think the previous models were - but not in every respect). As I mentioned in my wall of text posted here earlier today, I'd give it 6 out of 10 stars.

@Name Nameson , thank you for responding to my post. I appreciate you, and I appreciate your response.
My only problem with my cpap unit seems to be a common problem shared by all cpap users, regardless of the brand used and or the model used.
When I initially place the mask onto my face, the mask is properly sealed.
Throughout the night, the mask becomes unsealed for various reasons (i.e., movement of one's head, facial movements, friction pressure from one's pillow, etc).
Sometimes, I can feel the air blowing gently into one of my eyes. Other times, I am able to hear the unit attempting to reset the seal (like a *pop* sound).

    • @recoverinyankee6458
      @recoverinyankee6458 Рік тому

@Name Nameson , when I served in the military, we employed gas masks. Said masks stayed on one's face without fail until one removed such.
Perhaps such a mask can be used with the cpap machine. Probably not too comfortable for sleep, though.

The amount of water the machine uses at a given humidity setting is mostly going to depend on the environment it is in. If your water lasts two nights on setting 5, that is great, but you obviously live in a humid climate.

I just got the AirSense 11 a couple weeks ago and so far, it has been great as my first CPAP machine. What I found is that if you have a mask leak, your water tank will nearly empty each night. I was originally using the n30i mask and only getting about 5/20 for my seal on the app. Over the last few days, I used the p30i and f30i with both resulting in 20/20 for the seal as well as only using about half of the water tank each night. Lastly, if your machine turned off in the middle of the night it may be due to a leak that lasted long enough for the Smart Stop to kick in if enabled.

My first and only machine. Been using for about a year and am happy.
When I first got it any humidity above 1 would result in an empty tank before morning. Then one day that stopped happening. I suspect that ResMed or my provider did some sort of firmware update and now the tank doesn't end up empty every morning.
I agree the tank could be a lot easier to fill. I have a wash cloth under it to catch the inevitable spills.
I am not having any noise issues.

11 is my first CPAP experience, so I can't compare it to others. However, I noticed the same issues other users are complaining about with the water tank with my first use. On my 5th or 6th night, I kept getting "high leak" error messages, after which the machine would shut down and be unusable. I could not find any unusual air leaks. On the 4th night of no use, I at last noticed that the water tank was just slightly, really unnoticably, ajar. Fixing that fixed the air leak. (Good luck getting any tech support on a weekend.) I'm ok with the noise, however. I have tinnitus, and the machine's air sounds serve as white noise for me.

I've had mine for about 5 weeks now. Previously had a dream station. Have not had any issues with water tank other than a little small. Don't fill past the max mark and it doesn't spill. No problem removing or replacing it. No air leaks. Did run through a lot of water with climate on auto. Also got a lot of rainout. Turned auto climate off and set humidity to 3 and temp to 80F. No more rainout. The tank can be a pain sometimes to open. Phone connects BT from anywhere in the house. S11 is very quiet, only hear it when I remove the mask and let it auto stop. Biggest complaint is hose is too stiff and sometimes gets in the way. Overall much better than the dream station and no foam bits and fumes getting in my lungs.

The AirSense 11 is my first CPAP and I have had no real issues. The only other one I used was at my sleep study. My only issue with it was the HUGE delay in getting a device. I have had no issue with the water tank. I am careful when filling it and only fill to the Max Fill line. The unit had never been close to empty, if not for daily cleaning routine I could go at least 2 days without refilling. As to the SDCard I do not have an issue as I had many card laying around from cameras. The only time it is noisy seems to be when I open my mouth. But that is still far better than my constant snoring before getting the CPAP. I do not see the same issue as others.

I found the tank a bit cumbersome at first but have figured it out over time. For example, when I open the tank to fill it, I hold it facing away from me, with one hand on top and the other underneath supporting the tank. Then I can reach the fingers of the top hand over the lid and open lift clasp with my fingertips, rather than trying to use my thumb. This works better for me.

I need your view on whether to use such machines even? When I google, I found that there are lots of side effects. She is a post cancer patient. During the cancer treatment, numbers of other problems develop like heart problem, difficulty in breathing a bit, decay in bones etc. I am confused to go for these machines as I am afraid of other side effects that would make her life more uncomfortable. What you suggests, should we go for Airsense 10 or similar? What about only humidifier only?

I’ve had the water chamber of my, Airsense10, go dry. Usually means I had mask leaks or mouth open.
I’m SO-SO glad I chose another, Airsense10 last week, despite pressure from my doctor and DME.
I rejected it because it didn’t have a swivel hose and biggest drawback- NO O2 “bleed in port” for hose, which means a connector at your mask. So then you have two hoses going to your face. How ridiculous!

I've had the 11 for four months. my pressure is from 11-14. If the 10 is quieter, I would be very impressed as I find the 11 to be quiet. For me, the noise comes from the air flow out of the mask.
I can see how the tank can be an issue. If it isn't on a level surface, it will spill. I fill mine up I. the sink, so I'm not noticing any spills. I also fill it up to that edge that Nick pointed out. The side mark is inconvenient to use.

Appreciate this very practical review with lots of useful information. My S9 has been showing the "motor life exceeded" message for months. After 20+ years on CPAP I couldn't care less for wifi etc. Daily use experience is what counts for me. Was about to buy S11 or maybe S10 but the water tank setup looked clumsy to me. The S9 has me spoiled! Open lid, pour water, close lid. Holds enough for 2-3 nights depending on heat/humidity setting. After all these years it is no longer as dead silent as new, but still nowhere near noisy enough to bother. The S9 is a dirt cheap workhorse! I have two, one reserved for travel/backup, so will simply run until the motor dies- and then replace the motor myself for $150! Which is nice, but honestly a little bit of a let-down. Love the look of the S11, and the reduced power draw would be nice in the RV. But its just not worth it. Watching this video sure was though! Thanks!

I started treatment this year so the AirSense 11 is the only machine I've used - and I love it! Yes, the water tank is a bit small and awkward to refill but I developed my own system for that after a few days and it's been fine. As for noise, I literally can't hear it and either can my wife. I understand from the video that the problem manifests at higher pressures so that's probably the issue as my treatment range doesn't go higher than 11. Bottom line, I would recommend the AS 11 to anyone and I have done so numerous times already.

I’ve had my AirSense 11 for about a month now. Having graduated from an AirSense 10, the 11’s tank is actually a bit easier to fill and avoid sloshing.
Of all (4) of the ResMed’s I’ve had, the 9’s tank was the easiest to fill - and that had the option of a heated tube. (You must use a heated tube to avoid condensation from pooling and gurgling.)
One feature I miss with the 11 over the 10, is the right-angle tube fitting to the machine. I checked with ResMed, and apparently no right angle adapter or hose is available. The tube going straight-out the back keeps the unit from being as wall-hugging as possible.
I did have to adjust the low end of my air pressure range, as I don’t like ramp-up, so the unit starts at the bottom of the range, and adjusts as necessary. At the low end I felt I was gasping for air.
We’ll see how the 11’s water tank holds-up over time. The 10’s tank tended to degrade after cleaning, causing leaks at the metal heating plate intersection with the plastic.
I do like the basic feedback from ResMed’s app, but it does lack the detail and granularity one might want. Coupled with my iWatch, I can monitor my O2saturations, heart rate, and actual sleep, as the MyAir app only records wearing the mask, if I have a short night sleep, I can still score 100 by keeping the mask on. 😉
After sleeping with the 11 for a while, I do think it is an improvement over the 10. (I haven’t experienced the noise issue at high levels )

My husband needs a CPAP and I've been researching the options. Before this video, we pretty much decided on the AirSense 11, but now I'm hesitant.
You mentioned that you don't like the ramping up option. My husband is VERY PICKY and I already know that he doesn't want to use any machine, but has no choice. So I want to find a way to make this one (or whichever) as comfortable as possible.
I assumed that the ramping up was a good thing as I've read others say that without it, when one puts on the machine at night and starts it, the pressure is at full and can be disturbing. ?????
You mentioned that ramping uses the number entered, from lowest to highest.
Would it be a good idea to first test the machine with a "low" number to confirm one doesn't gasp for air?
Is that even a possible thing to do?
Example, if 4 is too low, could he try 5 or 6 and once the optimum low-end number if found, enter that into the machine as the beginning/low number and ramping would then start from that?
Thanks in advance for any ideas you may have.

I've had 3 CPAP machines so far, about to get a 4th. Obvious question: Why don't they make the humidifier tanks larger? Mine always runs out and I have the humidity level always on 1. I should have it at 2 because my throat does get a bit dry on 1, but even on 1 the tank runs out of water and then you get that smell from the dry hot plate running right into you and you wake up. So, would it kill these manufactures to make the tanks larger?

I've been using the AirSense 11 for a bit over a month, it is my first machine. The bluetooth connection was a bit finnicky when I first tried it but after a reboot of the machine and my phone it's been working fine so far. The first night I filled the water to the top and realised how precarious the water was, so I have only been filling it halfway since, I never run out of water overnight. I also fill from a 2.5 gallon water bottle with a spigot that I have on a higher bench, so I don't need to set my water chamber down therefore no balance issues. I have severe inflammatory arthritis in my hands and I have only minor difficulty disengaging the chamber myself, I usually put my left hand on the top of the machine and this helps steady things so I can easily slide the chamber out. Twice I have had a problem with the seals not being fully engaged resulting in a massive air leak, easy fix to just reseat the chamber. Overall it is quite for me and I do not notice it at all, I suspect because I use a fairly low pressure. Your video was very informative all the same though, but just goes to show that everyone can have their own unique experience with these things! I feel very lucky to have had no issues with my step into the CPAP world (even my mask is super comfortable, was able to use my machine all night from the get go which surprised me).

I have a ResMed 11 and I find it far superior to the Phillips dream station products. I have used Philips for 11 years. ResMed is much quieter and provides perfect functionality. It does not require a memory card because the data is transmitted directly via its phone system connectivity to the manufacturer, the equipment supplier and to your doctor. . The unit connected perfectly to my iPhone 13 Pro Bluetooth with no problems. When I used the system it ran out of air every night and the unit is so smart that it’s diagnostics told me my problem was I was sleeping with my mouth open. I put on a chin strap and guess what, I stopped running out of water. Every day that data is sent to my phone and it gives me a complete data report of how efficient my system worked and how well I slept. It also sent me data on how much air was leaking out of the system because my mouth was open.
My only complaint is filling the tank and I found that three alcohol swab packets placed under the back end of the tank allowed me to easily fill it without spilling. Once I corrected, my mouth breathing, I was sleeping eight hours a night without running out of water and using the automatic system to control the humidity in the air. I will never go back to a Philips system, and ResMed has proven its superior design to me, set up as fast and easy and the unit works perfectly. It is even so smart it diagnosed my problem and told me how to fix it. I use a pressure of 14 and I have no problem with noise and the tank does not run out of water.
Don’t blame the machine for your health problems. I love my machine.

I'm liking the Airsense 11. Upgraded over my Airsense 10 with a whining motor. It started to whine at 8000 hours. Airsense 11 is super quiet! I have had no problems with Bluetooth connecting. The 4G network connection works fine. Water lasts a night with me. You should be changing your water every morning. I do not need to spend $250.00 for a CSPRING ONE. Most of the negative reviews are user error.

Mine works well. Quiet, no issues as far as filling chamber. I’d say the chamber is a little flimsy. Are they being produced in different facilities and different countries.

Had an 11 for over 13 months. No complaints or problem ever. It works perfectly every time. Using auto start and always works. Sorry to hear about others having problems, but some might be operator errors.

First time user. Machine is dead quiet unless I haven't attached the tubing properly to my mask. Water tank is tricky to open - could be better like adding offsetting tab to each half. For spillage I put a plastic sheet under it.
How do you connect to wifi? I need to look into the SD card.
Suggest turn down humidity and check for mask leaks if tank is emptying in one night. I usually have to top up.
I am frustrated with the nose mask- getting good seal around top of my nose esoecially when I move and dry eyes waking me up.

I just got the 11 I had the 10 for 8 years what a difference super quiet the chamber is plenty big enough for a full night rest I only used 1/2 that was a 8 hour sleep this machine is amazing I went from having 1.4 to almost a zero now. It seems to respond better than the 10 love your videos.

Have any of these issues be addressed in production or are we waiting for the 12? Yes I know they can't fix the water tank.

Mine works fine. As long as I run it on airplane mode. When connected to wifi, it shuts off every 1-2 hours. It wakes me us and I must restart.
Some outside 3rd party is manipulating my machine during use. Reeked, supplier or sleep Dr? What do you think?

I have had my unit for 2 years with no issues at all. I turned off my humidifier option and turned on the heated hose option setting the temp to 80 degree. I don’t have any more issues with moisture buildup and no dry mouth 👄

I had my S8 Elite for 14 years and it still works. It's too old to trust but I keep it as emergency backup because a replacement for the Air sense 10 would take at least a week and probably 2 or more. I like how silent it is.
I could tolerate the model 11 water refill issue, what matters more to me is connecting to the SoClean which requires a special top for the water tank (uses existing bottom tank part). Not having to remove things more than monthly to clean, the SoClean does very well, is very good. I actually think reviewers should consider an extra 2-3 minutes to show it and perhaps a competitor, how it works with the CPAP machine being reviewed. I don't care to go back to the manual cleaning especially the heated hose.
One other thing that was easily with the cost and is a great addition to the CPAP is a desktop air purifier. I just the Holmes HAP242B-U which is designed to be tipped on end and used that way safely. In short, it will push fully HEPA purified air right into the CPAP input. I know how effective it is, as I have moderate allergies from wet mold season that is about half the year, and after getting up with no overnight problems the allergies return in 20 minutes. The irony is that it wouldn't be effective without CPAP because the filter goes 8 inches to the CPAP and then down the hose to me while without CPAP it would mix with room sure over several feet and not be effective much at all. Something to consider. The caveat is that your need a decent size nightstand the filter must be on the side of the CPAP input, left for ResMed. Between hEPA filtration and SoClean I only clean the tank and hose every 3 months, there isn't enough buildup to do it more often - unlike the old S8 that had neither.
I like your review but these other 2 things make the CPAP, probably regardless of brand, a lot easier to use. Keep up the good work.

Is it possible to get 0.0 readings on the Resmed 11 on a regular basis? It tells how long I’ve slept and my pressure which is always says the same but all the other readings are 0.0. Hide in a while 0.1 or 0.3.

I came here to find out if anyone was having the problems I was having. Yes. I have spills and noise. To eliminate the noise, I have to moisten the silicone connection before replacing the chamber. In addition, I took out the air outlet adapter to clean and now it comes out everytime I move the hose. I've actually just received my dreamstation 2 recall replacement and I like it quite a bit. I like the quiet, the better humidification control (less dry mouth), the algorithm, filling the chamber, and the ability to power it with 12 v. It does have a small screen but I rarely need that with the app and Oscar.

I switched from an old Respironics and don't believe it's loud at all. I can't stand the water tank, lack of seal, and now the metal part inside my water tank is showing little rust areas. I've only ever used distilled water. I may have to return it. I don't feel that an item that costs this much should be showing rust areas after only 5 months of use.

our insurance covers the device in the US, would you recommend the resmed 10 or 11? Both have cellular connectivity here.

Don’t Let them give you a cpap machine that they can control from their office. They shut off the tube heating without telling me. After a month of an ice cold lung causing me a lot of pain during the day, I finally figured out what they did to me. I am considering suing them. I almost went to the hospital over this.

I love my AirSense 11. It's crazy quiet and I've had zero issues. I've never had any problems with the water tank. There is always a little water left in the morning and I usually only fill it up half way.

@@torTxoFognaTuluZ lol, my hearing is just fine! I'm only 36 years old. There was one time the humidifier tank wasn't fully inserted properly. It made a very loud noise so I knew something was wrong and pulled the tank out and put it back in. Once the tank was pushed in properly it was super quiet again. I wonder if there is an issues with the seal from your tank to the machine? Could be a factory defect.

On the AirSense 10 C2C, the rubber covers over the O2 and SD card slots, are really bad for holding onto lint, dust, etc. How in the hell do I clean these?

I've got this model, it's my first CPaP ever, actually I was not aware that I have issues during sleep. I get used to it in 3 days, and I have to say that I start to wake up again without being tired. However, I've also discovered this Phillips scandal and I was wondering if this problem with filters would be the same in machines from other brands. I've got to confess that it scares me. Do you have any advice?
Well, regarding the machine, I was scared that I would made noise, but it's not the case. I have no problem with the humidity container. I've modified the level of humidity from 5 to 2 because I'm the first days I've got some water into my mask. After few days with this configuration it seems ok but my voice have changed, and I feel like my throat is itching.
