As a long-time CPAP user - 20 years - I personally have set my AirSense 10, put on my Respironics Dreamwear Headgear and go to sleep. I don't play with settings every night or need my CPAP to have a range of fancy features which, after the novelty has worn off, will likely never be used again. This is a machine that works while I sleep, not while I'm awake. And the 10 is less than half the price of the 11!
Thank you for sharing! It is important to consider what works some may not work for all. Changing your pressures and discussing with your sleep specialist is always recommended. Some patients may have underlying health issues if turning up their pressures may cause them to retain more carbon dioxide. If too low of a pressure is set then apneas may go untreated and Sp02 may drop through out the night. It is recommended that once your apneas look well maintained on your Cpap, re-testing is considered with a pulse oximeter. Thank you for watching!
In my country both costs the same so maybe I’ll choosing AirSense 11 But if the difference in pricing in your country is remarkable I guess the 10 version is the smart choice
After five years of the 10 I just got another one and I was issued a 10 because the 11 they had issues with the chips. And I also change doctors because I believe the other one had the pressure up too high and I had many leaks so when I got my new one along with, my new doctor they got it fine tuned just right and I get a lot more rest. My wife had her very old one over 10 years. It was a very antique model and now she has the 11 which I believe she got a year ago. The advantage of the 11 is her doctor can read her results over the computer and she doesn’t have to visit her doctor with the 10. I have to pull the chip out and take it to the doctors office for them to do any changes.

My 10 unit made it to the free replacement after 5 years use. They gave me a free 11, and I had to return it after one night. That unit was noisy, doing each of my breath in and out, like it was mocking me. They reluctantly found a 10 with the modem. Phew!
Thanks for the review! I'll be sticking to the Airsense 10 as long as I can because I need the capacity of the water bin in the winter. My bin is virtually empty by morning then, so having one that is half that size would be a negative.
I'll take the resmed 10 as I haven't touched my settings for a couple of years. Also I loathe having to deal with touch screens, one reason I don't have a cell phone. As to looks, they don't much matter to me, but the deeper water tank does.
I've watched multiple reviews on Phillips and Resmed products seeing as my Phillips Series One has been "recalled" and requires replacement. Replacement candidates are the Dream Station 2 from Phillips and Airsense 11 from Resmed. Interestingly enough both have departed from accomplishing the job the CPAP machine is supposed to do in favor of marketing their product. Neither product provides adequate reservoir capability to last through the night FOR ALL PATIENTS. Yes, you can make adjustments because the machine doesn't do the job but is that what such a product is supposed to do? Sleek design, smaller counter space, and lighter weight all are attractive but not if the patient has to make the device do the work it's supposed to do on its own. Users of CPAP machines are normally more senior in years and as such suffer from weakened eyesight, arthritic hands, and generally less adaptation to complicated devices. Small touch screens with characters so small you can't see them without glasses and you can't touch one character with a shaking finger are not what the industry should be providing. Just another perspective . . . . .
Thank you for your Feedback J. Mitchell. All great points and I will be happy to pass those over to the manufacturers. Very true that new upgrades can be difficult for our elderly patients however, patients now days come in all shapes, sizes, and age. I believe the new models are to attract our younger patients then differ them away. However, I do agree the down side to the new models by both the ResMed and Philips is the style of the water chamber. Oddly the size of the container still holds the same amount of water, but I believe the style of it may cause the water to deplete quicker.
I thought for sure the next ResMed machine would be designed to hold two cups of distilled water instead they stuck with 1 1/2 and from what I’m reading it’s not working well. I live in an extremely dry climate and need high humidity to get it up to 85% as my residence is at about 13% during the winter and the gas furnace makes it so dry I can’t stand it.
I totally agree. The tiny touch screen sucks compared to menu selection with the knob. Thank goodness that ResMed is continuing the AirSense 10 in the "Privacy Model" that doesn't transmit your data over the air. At least one can replace the AirSense 10 with an end-of-life motor with a similar unit that permits you to fill your humidifier at the sink and carry it to the bedside without spilling.
@@WakeUpAmerican000s I don't have an issue with the Airsense 11's screen. It's a perfect size. It it were any the bigger, the body of the machine would've had to been more larger, making it heavier.
Great video as are all of yours and this series. You are very knowledgeable and objective along with an entertaining presentation style. I use the 11 and agree it is an improvement over the ten.

I noted on a replacement tub for the Airsense 11, its labeled as "Standard" so I hope that a longer version will be produced. Also, amazing to me that neither version can sense when the water is out. SO, both will "burn" the residue in the tub once dry. Yes, I do use only distilled water and this burn and it associated smell still occur. No reason for this issue to have been overlooked especially since the 11's tub is much smaller and neither is an inexpensive device. Perhaps a software update can add a feature to monitor for drops in humidity and shut off the heat.
If you're worried about running out of water as I am sometimes worried about, then you can turn the humidity level down to a lower number which I do sometimes if I know I'm going to sleep for a long time
Some great suggestions made, feel free to reach out to ResMed at support@eshop.resmed.com. Standard tube can mean a non heated slimline tubing. Most tubes are made at 6ft, you can purchase other brands that come in longer non heated tubing. However, increased length has disadvantages if you're also using a humidifier and a heated hose. The longer length can cause the air to lose heat and humidity as it travels from your machine to your mask. Thank you for watching! @@RespShop Nothing to do with tubing....Standard TUB (like a bath tub) is the container you use with distilled water. Cleanable TUB is the container where you can use potable (drinkable) water and you can also wash this humidifier in the dishwasher, The Standard Tub has a white button, the Cleanable has a grey button as xplained in the manual. The standard is sold with the machine.
Why in the world do they not make a water tank with no crazy corners that are awkward to clean. And now two tanks for different water? Nonsense! On one vacation I could be using both distilled and regular potable water. I’ve had a CPAP for 16 years and I don’t need all the technology. Just makes the machine more expensive . Just turn it on, no ramp, pressure 13, and go.
To avoid spilling water while carrying the 11 tank, tilt it towards the deeper end. The need to refill the tank depends on the room's ambient humidity. I normally get two nights on one fill, with all the rain lately, I've been getting three nights.
I need a new machine, but I'm gonna stick with the Airsense 10 Autoset. My current one is now 6 years old, and after nearly 17,000 hours of service, it's inevitably starting to show signs of failing (loud whining noises during operation). So, it's probably time for a new one. I'm an old hand at this (22 years on CPAP) and figured I'd be starting over with a new machine. It was therefore a pleasant surprise to see a near-identical model still available. I already have accessories, supplies, etc., and know every detail of the machine. It'll be nice to get another one, and not have to start again with a different style machine. I never needed or used the cellular (2G? or was it 3G?) features on my old one, so I won't miss that anyway. I also don't particularly want a touch screen (why, just why!??!? it's one more thing that can fail)... nor OTA updates (because who wants the possibility of a surprise bricking?).

These machines are one of humanity's best creation. Totally life changing. Just got the 10 as the s9 appears to be getting less and less effective given my symptoms are back with morning headache. Hopefully the 10 solves this
As along time user of the ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet, I found it to be very reliable these past 5 years and it is at its end of life. I have an AirSense 11 on order. My concerns are that the AirSense 11 has a smaller blower motor then the AirSense 10. That will mean that it will have to be running at high RPMS to produce the same volume of air flow as the AirSense 10. Two things stand out, higher RPMS means louder noise. ResMed got around the noise by putting much more sound proofing in the 11 then in the 10 to get it to the same sound levels of the 10. My other point is, that higher rpms mean more wear and tear on the blower motor. I am wondering what the life cycle will be for the 11 and if it will be as reliable as the 10. Your thoughts?
The motor for the 11 is not as small as you think. ResMed does advise the life span of the unit is the same as the Airsense 10, which is 5 years (if the machine is taken care of) Filters changed, water chamber, hose, and mask cleaned and changed out. As for the noise level the S10 sits at 26.6DBA and the S11 at 27DBA, a total of .4 difference. Not too bad since the S11 is noticeably compact and smaller than the Airsense 11. end of life isnt five years. yes most insurance companies will replace the machine after 5 years and there is a message that tends to pop up that SUGGESTS you need a new machine but that is based on hours used and not on the actual health of the machine. you can clear the message and keep using it potentially for many more years unless you have obvious problems like motor noises.
I found that using a stylus on the touch screen can help to tap a selection more precisely and avoid "fat fingering" a choice. Also, if you have an older AirSense 10 machine that is a CDMA unit (look on back of device for the IC code which will state IC:xxx Air10CDMA), it stopped sending sleep data to Resmed's myAir platform in April 2022 due to phone carriers no longer using CDMA networks. If it is important for you to monitor your sleep data on myAir Resmed, you will have to upgrade your CPAP. I was told by Resmed that AirSense 10 machines made after 3/1/2017 should work with 4G.
Thank you for your advice and feedback. Thank you for watching! If you enjoyed our video, please do not forget to Like and Subscribe for more CPAP and Sleep related videos.
Mine stopped sending sleep data last year too. I wondered why that happened, thanks! How do we fix it, other than buying a new machine? Can the SIM card be changed/updated? And if so, how?
@@creativity.studio4967 Regrettably, the device cannot be fixed. The CPAP will still work, you just won't be able to monitor your sleep activity. Also, after about 5 years or so, the CPAP pressure might decline. If you can find an AirSense 10 manufactured after March 2017, it uses 4G and will send data to the myAir app. I couldn't find one through my my in-network health insurance provider, because of the Phillips recall. Providers were fulling a boat load of orders with AirSense 10 CPAPs, and they were being depleted. I was able to get the AirSense 11, but it took about 9 months to get it. I really like it.
I have an AirSense 10 and am required by the FAA to send in 365-day compliance reports. I put the machine's SD card in my laptop, then use Open Source CPAP Analysis Reporter, OSCAR, free software to download the necessary data. You don't need a new machine for that.
@@creativity.studio4967 After reading this about the #10 stopping reporting, I'm worrying about mine doing the same thing down the line. Mine is still sending info to myAir. My question is what is a SIM card. I Googled it and got a detailed description which was sheer goobledygook to me.

After years of battling with the VA over having to use the DS2...of which after 2 weeks of usage had me hacking for a couple hours every morning I notified my sleep provider of the issue I'm picking up new Air Sense 11 next week...although the vast majority of veterans are issued the 10 model, because I'm a truck driver I get the 11. To be honest, either of them is a God send over the piece of junk Philips DS2. I am more of a techy type and therefore feel the 11 is the right choice for me. As far as reliability I've had to revert back to my resmed S9 since the DS1 (Deathstar 1) issue...and it's never missed a beat. I'm one of the 100% users, as CPAP usage of 70% or more is a requirement for my CDL. I'm very thankful that you provided this detailed comparison and breakdown of the differences between the two. New sub here!!!
Thank you for sharing! We are glad to hear you will be getting a machine you feel more comfortable using, we agree with that tremendously. Thank you for subscribing and enjoy!
Not enough tangible upgrades to switch from the 10 to 11 for me. The CPAP Functionality for Therapy is the same. Aesthetics and additional Wireless capabilities are a nice to have, but my Air Sense 10 updates the Mobile MyAir App within an hour after I wake up. The Travel Case is fine an not too big. I will wait until by 10 Dies or reconsider down the road.
Thank you for your insight Sparky! The new airsense 10 no longer come with the bluetooth capability, as they could only connect to 3g networking. The airsense 11 is new and improved for up to 5G networking, more convenient for our patients who have to submit to DOT for licensing.
I have to fill my 10 every night so the need to fill the tub to the full line is very important to me. The trouble I have had with the 10 has been water getting in the heater plate and making it fail. And for me I like the looks on the 10 way more than the 11. Maybe it is just the white color. Just not a fan of the look
Hello Ben, having the water chamber filled past the ma line can cause the water to spill into your humidifier or if you have had your water chamber for over a year it may be time to replace it. Running out of water at any pressure can be a cause of an ill fitting mask. If you are using a nasal mask you might be mouth breathing, if you are wearing a full face mask make sure it is sized properly with leaks under 24/LPM. If you enjoyed watching our video please feel free to Like, Share and Subscribe.
Thank you! We have a sound comparison video on the AS10 and AS11, along with 2 other CPAP machines here: ua-cam.com/video/DftL7tuxMp8/v-deo.htmlsi=cJVbWK9QY2T4wqGi Hope this helps!
The 2 most important topics for me were not reviewed. Sound wise, which one is more silent? When you remove your mask in middle of the night, is there an option on either one to not light up like crazy.
Hello Guy, when it comes to sound both are practically equal. The airsense 10 sits at 26.6 dBA and the airsense 11 at 27 dBA. You can try turning off your smart stop and smart on. This means you will have to power your own CPAP by manually pushing the button, but this means once the mask is off you will not have to worry about the machine turning off automatically and the light turning on. However, there will be the sound of the air coming out of the mask.
I found your video helpful. I do have a comment my wife uses an airsense 11 I use a 10. The water chamber in the 10 holds more water than the 11. For someone that goes to sleep early like 7:15 PM the water only last for 8 hours. She is up at 3 am because there is no water in the chamber. Do you have any suggestions?
My new 11 water chamber doesn't last a full night? I got 2 nights out of the older 10? I wonder if there is any way to slow down the humidity level or something?
Thanks for your informative, yet very entertaining videos, top notch. I just had my CPAP Sleep Study last night, so it's time to decide, and you have helped me decide. I'm going with the 11.
Best of luck! We are glad the video helped to make a decision! Thank for watching! If you enjoyed our video, please don't forget to Like and Subscribe for more CPAP and Sleep related videos.
Hi, really great videos, entertaining while being educational. One of my problems is that the AirSense 10 and previous machine in combination with full size Resmed masks dry my throat/mouth during the night and wake me up. I have tried to use the manual setting of the humidification but that creates other problems. SO my question is the 11 better at humidification than the 10th?
My concern is that the airsense 11 does not have accessories so I can go camping without buying a whole new expensive attachment for battery use - where is the power attachment that let's me plug into my RV using a "cigarette plug" on one end & the "new" end for the resmed 11 power into the machine.
Hello Gae, Thank you for your feedback. At this time we do not carry that item but it doesn't mean it will not be rolled out soon. Due to supply chain issues, accessories and CPAP machines are hard to come across. Like the Airsense 10, the DC cord and side cover did not roll out till much later.
One of the other UA-camrs used a measuring cup and said they hold the same amount. I do hate how hard it is to put water in it. I put it in the sink to do it. I definitely don't like the small air filter. Every two weeks to replace it sucks and the warning is usually on by then. The machine works well and I have used it almost 8,000 hours. I ended up with an Auto set 10 for a backup and it looks like a nice machine. I used it for a few nights and it worked well other than it needed a climate line for it.
Thank you for this video, it was extremely helpful. I'm totally blind sot he air sense 11 with its touch screen and updating is a deal breaker for me. If you could control the entire machine iwth your smart phone, that would be great as my iPhone has voice over enabled. (voice over is a screen reader for the blind.) All these machines are becoming so unusable for us.
Hello Kerri, thank you for your feedback, I am sure that would be something the manufacturer would need to know. Maybe a machine in the future that can be voice activated. In the mean time, the machines are can be remotely accessed by your CPAP provider. Ensure you speak to them about airview and have them make changes for you. We hope you enjoyed watching/listening to our videos, please do not forget to Like and Subscribe for more CPAP and Sleep apnea related videos.
💥Thanks for the great video. All other things aside… is there any difference between how effective either of these two machines are at doing their most basic of jobs, detecting your apnea and kicking in to stop it? Is it worth it for me to upgrade from my 10 to the 11 because it will give me a better nights sleep? Im better off using mine than not but I haven’t had one refreshing nights sleep in over 10 years and I continue to wake up with heavy brain fog that takes hours to eventually clear up. Thanks again. 🤟🏼
If you are still having symptoms, the cause may be from another underlying health concern. Speak to your Doctor for further testing. The AS10 and AS11 are identical when it comes therapeutic function. The difference is between the user technology (touch screen, upgraded networking 4-5G, and the machine is 3 in one (elite, auto, auto for her). Thank you for watching. @@RespShop I definitely liked. I just did an at home sleep study to hopefully discover something to improve my sleep. I’m a very fit and healthy person otherwise being how clean I eat and how active I am in the gym. I’m stumped with how I awaken with such brain fog and I’m looking into other mask designs. I’m currently wearing the Dreamwear nasal mask but I’m considering going back to a more full face design like the Resmed Airfit f30i. Thanks for the reply. Greatly appreciated
@@Jimmy_Cavallo Hi James, are you sleeping on your back? I find that my AHI score, and how tired I feel in the morning, are much worse when I sleep on my back instead of my side. If you are, then it may be worth avoiding back sleeping for a while to see if it helps.
I watched this as an Airsense 10 user who is looking to replace my aging machine (which happens to no longer be able to talk to the cell network due to our networks no longer supporting 2G & 3G). And I will add that I am a techie, who is all in favor of smarter devices, touchscreens, etc. That said, I thought you sounded very biased towards the "cool new machine" factor. Why in the world do I need my machine to talk to the ResMed app? I don't! How often do I change ANY settings? Almost never! So other than "it's cool", what in the world do all those changes bring to me? Nothing! OTOH, having a water tank that barely makes it to 8 hours and that spills if filled sounds like a genuine pain in the ass...one that I will deal with every single day of ownership! Likewise, do I really want or need a touchscreen? NO!!!! It is one more thing to fail, AND for those of us with big hands, they usually are a pain in the ass. It sounds pretty clear that I will choose the bigger, VERY robust Airsense 10.
Thank you for your Feedback Larry! Some really do need the support of the apps/airview. Many need 30 day reports to send to DMV and may live in a remote areas where driving to their Dr's is quite far. I am glad to hear you are happy with your Airsense 10 some people really do prefer this machine over it's replacement.
I definitely agree with you 100%. I’m choosing a new 10 over 11 so my water lasts. This’ll be my second 10 and my insurance said I can have the 11 but I don’t want it.
Larry...you and I are in the same boat...my AirSense 10 is generating a "motor life exceeded" message. When looking for a replacement, I discovered the AS11 tank is smaller than the AS10...and I often run my AS10 tank dry. So I may end up with another AS10
Hello Wallace, the water tank is the same size as the Airsense 10. If you are finding water in the tube, I would suggest lowering your humidifier setting. Please also note large leaks will also cause more water consumption as the pressure will increase. If you have more questions please feel free to call us at 866 936 3754. I stopped adding (distilled) water to my AS10 two years ago. No perceptible ill effects….(Your results may vary! Please contact your sleep therapy provider before modifying/adjusting your operation or use of the equipment.)
Why are these machines getting so much bigger and heavier?!? I need a new machine and everything on the market is at least twice the size of my Resmed Escape II and much heavier as well. I don't have the room for these new GIANT devices. Let alone that the hose output is on the backside where the hose now needs to be longer to make up for the extra length needed to come around the front of the machine. Lastly, I have NEVER used or even attached a water chamber to my Escape II. Do you know of or have any recommendations of a much smaller device? Any help is appreciated.
Hi there, the ResMed S8 Escape II would be a bit bulkier in size than these new units (ResMed Airsense 11/10) with the integrated humidifier. If you are not using the humidifier attachment then that will surly cut down the size of the machine. You can look into the ResMed Airmini which would be half the size in length and width of your current Escape II and you do not need to worry about distilled water. You can give us a call at 866 936 3754 if you have more questions.
I have had the Air 10 for BiPap for about a year and half . I am using the nasal mask, My numbers continue to totally be unpredictable, varying from 25 events down to 3 events, last night it was 6.....How can I get it to be 5 or below on a consistent basis????? I have had 3 sleep studies.......Hope to get a better read consistently......HOW?????
Hello Rosalyn, It sounds like you need to sit down with the sleep Dr and see if you can review your compliance data off your CPAP machine and review the nightly detailed data (graph) and look at the difference between the night it your apnea's are 3/hr and 25/hr. Somethings like, medication, alcohol, mask not fitting right, and sleep positions can cause apneas to fluctuate. If it is a leak these things can be seen on your nightly graph. Thank you for watching, if you enjoyed our video, please do not forget to Like and Subscribe for more sleep related content.
I’m new to Resmed Airsense 10 after being on DreamStation for many years, which I liked very much, until the recall caused all the local providers to completely drop Phillips. I haven’t received the Resmed just yet; waiting on appointment. Regarding the water tank; does it have to be filled to the max level each night if there is plenty water left in the tank? My DreamStation tank would last 3 days before needing refill. Also, I’ve never had a heated tube before. Won’t running water through the heated tube damage the heating element connection?
Hello Baklash1762, Topping out your humidifier with water every night ensures you do not run out but also ensures your heating element/plate does not burn. Depending on your humidification setting some patients go through a lot or little bit of water nightly. The ResMed detects mask leaks more aggressively this is where some patients run out of water often, if they are wearing a ill fitted mask or wearing a nasal mask when they need a full face mask. Running water through the tube is fine when cleaning, just ensure to not submerge the hose in water. You will see prongs on one end of the hose, if it does get wet, just ensure to take a dry cloth/towel and wipe up the water. Thank you for watching! I'llhave to give my hats off to the air sense 10. The ability to unlock all of the functionality with just a software update is the reason why I will stay with the airsense 10 for life! LOL. I grab every unit I find when they pop up new on craigslist. LOL. I'll be sleeping peacefully on my airsense 10 when resumed is releasing their airsence 21 in 10 years! lol
You might want to keep in mind that a CPAP machine that is more 5 years old can decline in air pressure and is not as efficient. Also, if you use the myAir Resmed online platform to monitor your sleep data dashboard and the data stopped around mid April 2022, the AirSense 10 is probably a CDMA machine. Look for the IC: xxx Air10CDMA code on the back of the device. I had this experience with my AirSense 10 machine. Resmed told me if the AirSense 10 is made after 3/1/2017, it should work with the 4g network.
@@brichter4669 Thank you. I have three units new in box. one has a 4G let modem. don't know what the other two have. I don't care about the resmed platform cause their data is more basic. Kind of comes off as more for entertainment purposes in my opinion. I actually disable my modems because I know the data they collect is far more fast then the data they show me. If I need metrics there's a multitude of apps that can read the SD card. Or you can even put a PI nearby with a WIFI sd card and have the data automatically synced without needing to pull the card. If you are a tinkerer this is a great place to have fun! :)

I was using my Airsense 10 for over 5 years and loved it. My insurance said it was time for a new machine and sent me the 11. Immediately I noticed the 11 has a different power port and transformer. The climate heated tube from the 10 will not fit the 11. The machine filter is of a different size. Annoying that basic parts are not interchangeable. Both machine start up automatically when user puts on the face mask. However the 10 shuts off automatically when the mask and headgear are removed. The 11 does not. Will have to see how to make the 11 communicate with my smartphone. The 11 menus are more complicated. So far I prefer my 10's simplicity of use.
Hi, if you haven't already, we suggest checking to see if SmartStop is turned on. This will cause the machine to turn off when you take off your mask. You can turn on SmartStop under "My Options." If you don't see SmartStop, you'll need to go into the clinical menu and enable advanced patient view first. We have a video showing you how to do that: ua-cam.com/video/VrSizofsmOA/v-deo.html (start at 7:50)
I was looking up what the for her mode was and this video popped up. I watched almost the whole thing and you just said if you want the for her mode the air since 11 has it built in. Argh! I don't know what the for her mode is. I guess I'm now going to have to go watch the other videos that you've made. Maybe you talk about it there. But here is my comment to help you in the algorithm!🎉
Thank you 😊! The AutoSet for Her mode is an auto CPAP mode that ResMed developed specifically for women. Women with OSA tend to have more upper airway restrictions so this For Her mode is designed to better detect these flow limitations. Pressure changes are also more gradual. Of course, ANYONE can use the AutoSet for Her mode. Hope this helps!
@@RespShop This helps a lot! I had no idea that women with OSA tend to have more upper air restrictions. I may try it out for my daughter and see how it works. I have the old ResMed 10. She's got the new 11.
@@utsxslv Glad we answered your question! That sounds like a good plan. If you want to share how you feel using the regular AutoSet vs AutoSet for Her, we'd love to hear about it!
Hello Robert, If your CPAP device is being calibrated once a year and proves on a monometer it is still providing adequate pressure you are good to keep using the S8. The reason why the manufactures request patients to replace the devices is because the motor slows down. Your display may say a pressure of 10 but in reality it could be only providing a therapy pressure of 6. This will under treat your sleep apnea and worse cause other underlying health issues.
The pioneering new algorithm used in the AirSense 10 AutoSet for Her works by increasing sensitivity to flow limitation and optimizing the response to these events. By responding to each flow-limited breath, the algorithm helps provide comfortable therapy for women.
Hello, how compatible is the AirSense 10 with the ResMed MyAir(?)App? You mention how connectivity is great with the AirSense 11 and how it uses Bluetooth to transfer data. How does the AirSense 10 do that? If it's even capable of it
i have read the motors are smaller in the 11?????? would this make an impact on durability? also is there going to be an adapter to make the straight hose connection angled like the 10?
Yes, the motor on the Airsense 11 is smaller at the machine is smaller. It is still durable and ResMed backs the machine to last 5 years or 25,000 blower hours. You are correct the hose connection does not have a swivel.
Hi thanks for this informative video. One follow-up question - i understand that the motor on the 11 is the same as the Airsense mini, is that correct? Is there any concern that this smaller motor has a higher chance of burning out over time, compared to the larger motor in the 10? thanks
Hello Lise May, I did have a chance to speak to a ResMed Rep and they actually did advise the motor size on the Airsense 11 and Airmini are different sizes. The Airsense 11 is a full time unit meant to function like the Airsense 10 and has a life span of up to 5 years.
Thanks for the video. I have been using the 10 for about 5 years. I have a myAir app on my computer, but have not had a "sync" over 6 months. I saw some comments about 4G and 5G. Is the 10 only 3G? Would that be the reason I'm not getting in readouts for the last 6 months?
This may be the case as networking is always changing and since the Airsense 10 is about a 7 year old CPAP, yours may only support the 3G network. Feel free to have your provider look into that for you, they can call into ResMed to confirm. Thank you for watching! I have been using Air Sense 10 for >3 years and have been very pleased with improvements in my sleep, and especially great reductions in Apnea evens. My wife was diagnosed with apnea and started CPAP therapy using Air Sense 11 app rox. 3 months ago. I definitely agree with the comments re: water "spillover" from the chamber when filling. We usually tilt the chamber when filling and carrying to the CPAP device. We feel there may be a "glitch" in the way Air Sense 11 calculates apnea events as her sleep is MUCH Improved, yet the events/hr seem high, especially when compared to my events/hr on Air Sense 10. Thus far, the provider of her Air Sense 11 seems not to concerned with the events/hr she is racking up during her sleep. Have other Air Sense 11 users seen higher than expected values for events/hr?
Have you tried switching machines for a couple of nights so you can compare your results. You shouldn’t compare to your results to your wife as you’re different individuals. IMHO. As matter of fact my AHI is .5 lower on an AS11 compared to a DreamStation 1. Her settings might need to be adjusted.
Hello there, A good AHI per hour is under 5/hr. As long as your wife is hitting under 5 then treatment is successful. Ones therapy cannot be compared to another as there is a lot to factor in. For one, your wife is a woman and her breathing algorithm is much different to yours. Woman breathe much more shallow then those of men breathing, which increases RERA's in woman. Another is severity and time. You have been on CPAP for 3+ years so you have had a chance to get quite comfortable and your body has accepted the CPAP therapy as helpful. Often times at the start of CPAP therapy ones body can fight against treatment and we can find that apneas can increase especially those central apneas. Treatment can take one 3-6 months to adapt to. I believe your spouse just needs more time and possibly a titration study if you find her apneas are still too high. Please feel free to call us at 866 936 3754 for more questions and don't forget to Like and Subscribe for more CPAP content.
try the thumb ring that measures O2 and Heart Rate. Sync the time on CPAP and the ring then look at the detailed results. The ring samples every second. Then open the app and see what you O2 is doing, where's the baseline? Dropping below the 90% line (as an example). I used this to eval a dental appliance and it doesn't even come close to CPAP machine results so back to the machine. All my personal opinion here but that's what I've found. For me, I can't go by how I feel in the morning as an accurate guide (no matter what they tell you). I see a big difference in AHI S10 vs S9 so you might be right about the S11 Apnea events calculation.
You can get the Medistrom Battery pack for the Airsense 10. You will have your machine run on the battery while being plugged into the wall. If there is a power outage, the machine will go into backup power supply mode and start using the battery. Are there any AirSense 10 machines compatible with the newer 4G technology? My current AirSense 10 uses 3G, and is not compatible with the U.S. telecommunications technology.
Hello Judy at this time we are unsure that ResMed is launching anymore S10's with the new 4G tech. We believe this software is being saved for the S11. The s10 we carry at RespShop are now card to cloud.
I love my 10 but I think because of the upgrades to the 4G and 5G my machine is no longer collecting data. I just have a round yellow circle on the cell bars. I really like looking at my app every morning but I haven't had anything collected for 14 days. what do you think I should do and have you heard about this. have you heard that the air 10 is obsolete now because of the upgrades a 4G and 5G? I really need some help on where to go he from here.
My Airsense 10 stopped communicating with AT&T and the MyAir app on April 18, 2022. That was due to AT&T discontinuing support of 3G. My Airsense 10 communicates only via CDMA (3G) and so cannot communicate with AT&T ever again! I'm in line to get a Airsense 11 and so far I haven't been able to verify 100% that it will support 4G and higher. I sure don't want communication with the sleep clinic to get complicated. I would be bad news indeed if I had to carry the unit down for in-person reprogramming!
That is completely up to you. If you are needing compliance reports, the convivence of bluetooth so your Dr is able to remote in your CPAP does make it easy. Many also like the touch screen. Hello George, Here is the link to the SD card we carry for the Airsense 11. www.respshop.com/cpap-supplies/software/resmed-airsense-aircurve-sd-card-p-1694.html
I've used the AirSense 10 with the SoClean system for 5 years. I'm waiting for my doctor to submit a new prescription for an AirSense 11. I understand that ResMed does not recommend SoClean with with its products any longer. What do you recommend? Perhaps the Sleep 8?
Hello Michael, We always suggest good old water and soap is the best way to clean your CPAP supplies. Should you want to add an extra step we do advise the New liviliti Paptizer is a great alternative. Feel free to call us at 866 936 3754 for more info on the product. If you enjoyed watching our video please feel free to Like, Share and Subscribe.
Michael - Spend $16 on a CPAP brush set (one short, one long hose brush), and use them with Dawn soap to clean your mask, hose, and water chamber. Very easy to do when traveling as well.
I have an airsense 10. I have moved the numbers around during time now I dont know if I should go back to the original, in critical there is a reset. If I hit that , would it take me back to what the doctor originally set? If you are wondering why I did I didnt like the way it worked so I changed it but am not happy with it. ( I am going to find a new pulmanologist. Thank you
Hitting reset will take your machine back to the manufacture default settings and not what your Dr plugged in. It will essentially erase all your data. If you feel that your pressure settings require adjustment, speak to your doctor. Do not try to adjust your CPAP machine yourself. Calibrating your CPAP machine is part of the process of getting the most out of your CPAP therapy and needs to be done by a professional.

Hello, Non-heated tubing like 1032907 will fit on any machines. Feel free to use your tube on the Airsense 11. Please note, most machines come with their own tubing. Thank you for watching! If you enjoyed our video, please feel free to Like & Subscribe for more CPAP and Sleep related content.
Glad you're enjoying your new AirSense 11! If you've opted in to the Care Check-in feature when setting up the machine, it'll check in with you over a one month period to see how therapy is going.
I got an Airsence 10 since a couple of months. Before that I got a Resmed S9, and before that a Respironics Remstar. CPAP's made a big improvement since that Remstar. I can't tell the difference between the S9 and Airsence 10 while using it, but I can tell between the S9 or Airsence 10 and the Remstar. And that's what counts. I don't fumble around on the buttons all the time, so I don't care about a touchscreen.
Thank you for watching and for sharing. Different CPAP manufacturers have different algorithms so when you switch from one brand to the other, it feels different even if the settings are the same.
You can use the same non heated standard slim line tubing. Unfortunley, it is different heated tubing. Thank you for watching our video, please feel free to Like, Share and Subscribe.
jmatsko25 - I am guessing that you've noticed the soft airflow on the Airsense 10 that occurs after you get up in the morning. That is by design. The blower will softly blow air for about 30 minutes after you shut the A10 unit off. This will help dry out your hose to minimize the chance of mildew. My recommendation is to get up, quickly empty your water chamber and wash the skin oil off of your mask, then put the water chamber and mask back on the machine so that the soft airflow can dry things out. Helps keep the hose / mask fresh.
You will see a flashing snow flake on the right hand side of the display. This is advising cool down and trapped air will be able to flow out of device. Usually no longer than 30 mins.
Thanks for the great review! Sold me on the 11. But I have a question that I can’t seem to find anyone answering. With 3G going away, what’s the internal cellular connectivity? Is it the same as the 10 or 4G? Any risk of no connectivity with the cellular system in the 10?
Hello Michael, Thank you for the comment and kinds words. The issue with the 3G in the first generation machines of the Airsense 10 was shortly fixed and uses the same method of data transfer for the Airsense 11. The data transmit via cellular tower, between device and Airview and between wifi/blue tooth between device and Myair App. Hope this helps, for more CPAP and sleep content be sure, Like, Share, and Subscribe.
So how about how noisy is the new unit versus the 10 version? Is it noisier/louder or similar. That’s my biggest question as I am looking to move away from my cancer causing DreamStation. Thanks.
Hi Mark, The dream station noise sits at 27.9DBA. Just so you have an example of the noise. The Airsense 10 is 26.6 DBA and the Airsense 11 is at 27 DBA. Hope that answers your question. If you enjoyed our video, don't forget to Like & Subscribe for more CPAP and Sleep related videos.
The 10 noises are extremely annoying. You get a hissing air sound around your head that sounds like Darth Vader and also a noise from the machine like water running through pipes or someone filling a bathtub.
The sound DBA is the same, both sitting at 26. Thank you for watching, if you enjoyed our video please don't forget to Like and Subscribe for more Sleep Apnea and CPAP related videos.
You made a brief comment about "leak vs spill" early in the video but didn't address it later. The 10 has a poorly designed water tank that joins the metal and plastic below the water line. All of mine, and I have bought quite a few, have leaked after several months of use. They also break at the hinges very easily. I've had to resort to putting silicone sealant around the inside of the at the gap. I shouldn't have to do something like this for such an expensive piece of equipment. Frankly, I have to wonder if this was done intentionally, and I'm surprised there hasn't been a class action lawsuit. The S9 had a much more robust design and I never had this problem with it's water tank.
If you would like to give us a call at 866-936-3754, we would love to try to help you with your current problems or help find a machine better fit for you!
10 tank is a literally PIA to clean. All the curves and small areas. 11 doesnt have this issue. I wouldn’t recommend the 10 due to insanely difficult tank cleaning
Thank you for your feedback! Thank you for watching, if you enjoyed our video please don't forget to Like and Subscribe for more Sleep Apnea and CPAP related videos.
Jason - I use the small CPAP brush that I use on my mask, and it's easy to clean the Airsense 10 water tank. I run it through the dishwasher every few weeks too. I don't care for the S11 tank design as it requires walking a tightrope every night to keep from spilling while moving a filled tank from sink to bedside.
My old resmed 10 would draw with heating tube/tank on close to 40 watts and heating off over 20 watts. Resmed 11 drew with heating tube/tank over 20 watts and heating off over 5 watts. I used my allpower battery bank with DC cigarette power cord and after over 10 hours with heat off it had 55% power left looks like resmed 11 is more power efficient than 10.
I can’t understand why they feel it is better to snake the tube out the back. I want to have the device screen facing me so I can look at it when needed…and would prefer the tube to be straight out the front, or at the very least off the side…but the back just seems to add an unnecessary bend and lose more than a few inches unnecessarily. Am I the only one who thinks that way.
Great feedback! We agree, a hose swivel would be a great addition. We hope ResMed could think of something soon. Thank you for watching! If you enjoyed our video, please do not forget to Like & Subscribe for more CPAP and Sleep related videos.

🆘 How does one use this on an airplane on a budget? Having already spent $1,299 on the AIrsense 11, I’m not really looking forward to buying a $2-300 power bank. So if anyone has used this thing on a plane with a special usb cord or something please let me know. I know that there are outlets on a plane that cleaners use to vacuum but I don’t want to have to inconvenience a flight attendant, and possibly two passengers, all to be closer to an outlet and still be next to one of my kids.
You will need to call your airline to ask what specifically you can use onboard the plane. Some international flights have AC plugs at each chair. You may have to be seated in a special area or you may need to bring a battery pack to run the CPAP off of. Thank you for watching, please do not forget to Like & Subscribe for more CPAP and Sleep Apnea related videos.
@@RespShop thanks again for the reply. Having recently traveled I can say that every seat (even in coach) has an outlet and everyone gets issued free earphones for the inflight entertainment if needed. So I slept like a bear.
We agree! The swivel on the back of the machine is definitely missed. If you use a non heated tube you can purchase the elbow which helps the hose swivel. Here is the link to it: www.respshop.com/cpap-supplies/tubing/resmed-tubing-elbow-for-plastic-only-p-1116.html
I greatly preferred my old S9 to my current S10. It was a much better design, with an easier to use humidifier tank. It looks like the S11 has the same design errors as the S10, but has made them all smaller and harder to use. I'm sure I'll end up having to "upgrade" to the S11 soon, but I'm not looking forward to it.
Hands down Airsense 10 is the winner. All the added features and higher tech of the 11 is worthless fluff for 90% of users. The larger water reservoir in the 10 is a show stopper.
What!? AirSense 10 tank last two (2) nights? No! I live in a dry, high-altitude climate and I don’t get through one night without dry mouth and throat. I use witH oxygen and even run the bubbler too. I’ve tried both auto and manual, and 1-8 is crude, either on or off humidification it seems. I’ve had the unit for 4.5 years and maybe it’s not working as it should? Thanks for the warning about the smaller/tighter tank on the 11. The medical equipment source I got the 10 from has poor customer service and I’m suspicious the software has never been updated. 🤬 Comments?
The humidifier tank can last upto 2 nights depending on hours of sleep as well as how high the pressures go. Rule of thumb if you the water chamber is emptying out before you wake up and less than 8 hours, check your mask leak. If your mouth is opening or the mask is leaking, the machine will go through more water. I am not too sure what you mean by: the software has never been updated. You are more than welcome to call our medical team if you need some assistance 1866 936 3754.
Good comparison. I would like to know if the two cases are different sizes. I pack my CPAP in my carry-on luggage and it is a tight fit. Does the Airsense 11 have a smaller case?
The two cases are different sizes. The S11 is smaller but not by much. Did you know the CPAP is a free carry on. You do not need to back it into your carry on luggage, just carry it along like your lap top bag. It is wonderful for the youngsters, but for someone who is 89 all these wonderful improvements don’t mean anything . I was totally unaware that the 11 could change the air pressure on its own. I guess i will have to contact APRIA who I hate to find out how to use the machine. When I started using my CPAP machine you got it from your sleep doctor. Then from someone else who taught you how to use the machine and now from the winner company that all Medicare patients have to use. because of Covid you can’t get into their office.
Hello Bob, The Auto CPAP is not a new technology and most machines are set to auto for ease and comfort. Your Dr would make note of the pressure and your provider (Apria) will set that for you. Auto CPAP helps with providing enough pressure to treat the obstruction you are having. The neat thing with the airsense 11, it is 3 machines in one. If you do do not like the auto setting (where it changes the pressure based on your needs) then you can ask your provider to set it on a manual pressure (one constatnt pressure from the time you go to sleep to the time you wake up). The 3rd setting is a FOR HER setting, a more gentle algorithm of pressure for female patients.
The for her is a softer algorithm and most effective from pressures 4-10cmH20. Woman breathe much more shallow then men, so a burst of pressure causes more arousals in woman and sleep disruption then men on a standard CPAP. I do not like the 11. It will not hold enough water. The hose going straight out from the machine is not as good. When it runs out of water it smell like it is burning.
Hello Susan, The Airsense 11 and 10 have the same size water chamber. It may be that you are having a high leak coming from your mask or mouth opening during sleep. This can cause more water to be used. Or You can also check to see if your humidity level is on the higher level. Thank you for watching! I won’t be switching because the idiots at Resmed switched the power cord plug. I have two AC/DC converters that were not cheap and are very well made. One for my RV, and one for my solar powered home unit. I see no such adapter for the 11 yet and it would cost me a couple hundred dollars to convert to the Airsense 11 even if Medicare pays for the machine. Still very pleased with my Airsense 10 Autosets after 8 years of quiet and perfect performance.
We are glad to hear you are pleased with your ResMed Airsense 10. Feel free to reach out to ResMed regarding your concern/feedback regarding the power cord. Another comment: Have been using AirSense 11 for over a month now and am not pleased. The humidifier tank is too small. In dry weather I adjust the humidity level up. But then I wake up with painfully dry nostrils because the tank is completely empty. This means I need to get out of bed to refill the tank before I can get back to sleep. Thankfully my Airsense 10 is alive and well, so I've gone back to using it. The Airsense 11 will just have to sit in my closet unused.
We're sorry to hear of the issues with the AirSense 11. If you would like to talk to our customer service team, they would be happy to help with your humidification issue, as it is more and more common as we head into winter. You can chat with one online on our website or call us at 866-936-3754.
While I have and think highly of my AirSense10, I need to take issue with the longevity statement. These units have a one year warranty, about 2 weeks after that warranty expired my AirSense 10 failed. Resmed was neither helpful nor understanding. I had the machine repaired by a 3rd party repair service at my expense ($500 us dollars), and it has functioned flawlessly since. The failure was that the main board was substandard. Basically, they had to replace all of the electronics and mechaicals.
Thanks for sharing! However, ResMed does not sell directly to patients you would have had to go through a provider. Your provider gets a 2 year manufactures warranty in which it is repaired for free. I would suggest finding out who your provider is and speaking to them about some type of compensation. Any issues with the device Within 30 days is considered a manufactures defect and you should have been supplied with a replacement. Sorry to hear you went through a lengthy process.
@Respshop I did go through a provider, and it cost me about $500 for roughly $50 in parts I could have easily replaced. While I recognize the need for the providers, I should also able to obtain the parts to maintain my own equipment. I believe it's called the right to repair.
I realize this is a DME shop and they are trying to sell a certain product but I think it's pretty ridiculous that you erase comments that don't agree that the Airsense 11 is the best thing ever.
I can assure you we do not erase comments unless it advertises false information to our viewers or course language. We are here to support the community of CPAP users of ALL ages. Comments that do not provide truthful information, discourage PAP users, or that have offensive language will not be tolerated and deleted. Thank you!
Airsense 11 is a big mistake. airsense 10 have 90 bend with the flex hose, and it is very help to keep machine facing to the users direction. But airsense 11 cannot keep like that due to strait hose connection. it is difficult to use and not user friendly.
ResMed has not recommended attached the machine to the so clean and currently there is no adapter to connect the so clean to the S11. Please note OZONE can be very dangerous if not handled correctly.
Thank you for watching! We tend to see it as how much personalized support do you prefer. Some new CPAP users really like the Personal Therapy Assistant that comes with the AS11. Others couldn't care less about this new app feature.
You need to concentrate more on the Bi-Pap machines than the C-paps . there are many like myself who actually have more severe Apnea and low pressure C-Paps don't do the job!!!!
I hate the airsense 11. It's so loud I can't sleep and it cuts out on the exhale making my breathing choppy. I wake up with a headache and a stomach ache from using it. The 10 is a much better machine.
Hello Mary, The airsense 10 and 11 have the same internal algorithm and sound function. Main difference is the look, the touch screen and the bluetooth capability. I believe your provider may have your settings in correct and for noise, it should be the same as the Airsense 10, I would take it in to your provider to have it checked and make sure there is no issue with the unit. Thank you for watching! If you liked our video, please don't forget to Like and Subscribe for more CPAP and Sleep related content.
In my country both costs the same so maybe I’ll choosing AirSense 11
But if the difference in pricing in your country is remarkable I guess the 10 version is the smart choice
I love my 10. Went to italy had no problems with plugged up.
@@Lance-b2l when you say chip do you mean the memory card that record your sleep data? thanks.

Thanks for the warnings, I'll stick with the AirSense10

I'll take the resmed 10 as I haven't touched my settings for a couple of years. Also I loathe having to deal with touch screens, one reason I don't have a cell phone. As to looks, they don't much matter to me, but the deeper water tank does.
Thank you for sharing!

@@af1966 Agreed..
Thank you for your feedback! I am sure this will help some patients with this issue.
Thank you for sharing.

Hello Ben,
having the water chamber filled past the ma line can cause the water to spill into your humidifier or if you have had your water chamber for over a year it may be time to replace it.
Running out of water at any pressure can be a cause of an ill fitting mask. If you are using a nasal mask you might be mouth breathing, if you are wearing a full face mask make sure it is sized properly with leaks under 24/LPM.

Thx for the review, i would have loved to see a sound comp. Since i dont own any cpap machine and need to buy my first one.
Thank you! We have a sound comparison video on the AS10 and AS11, along with 2 other CPAP machines here: ua-cam.com/video/DftL7tuxMp8/v-deo.htmlsi=cJVbWK9QY2T4wqGi
Hope this helps!
The 2 most important topics for me were not reviewed. Sound wise, which one is more silent? When you remove your mask in middle of the night, is there an option on either one to not light up like crazy.
Hello Guy,
when it comes to sound both are practically equal.

The water chamber on the 11 is a little more giant and built to be more stable. That could impact the overall humidification of the machine.
My concern is that the airsense 11 does not have accessories so I can go camping without buying a whole new expensive attachment for battery use - where is the power attachment that let's me plug into my RV using a "cigarette plug" on one end & the "new" end for the resmed 11 power into the machine.
Hello Gae,
Thank you for your feedback. At this time we do not carry that item but it doesn't mean it will not be rolled out soon. Due to supply chain issues, accessories and CPAP machines are hard to come across. Like the Airsense 10, the DC cord and side cover did not roll out till much later.
I think i would like the dial better as fingerprints just like my ipad,i phone sometimes dont work

I was thinking something similar. Maybe im just old-school and prefer a dial over touch screen
I'm glad you've found a machine you like!
Hello Kerri,
thank you for your feedback, I am sure that would be something the manufacturer would need to know. Maybe a machine in the future that can be voice activated. In the mean time, the machines are can be remotely accessed by your CPAP provider. Ensure you speak to them about airview and have them make changes for you.

choosing a new 10 over 11 so my water lasts.
So I may end up with another AS10
The water tank on the 11 does not hold enough water for an 8 hour sleeping period.
Hello Wallace,
the water tank is the same size as the Airsense 10. If you are finding water in the tube, I would suggest lowering your humidifier setting. Please also note large leaks will also cause more water consumption as the pressure will increase. If you have more questions please feel free to call us at 866 936 3754. My 11 tank will go for about 5 nights. Perhaps a heated hose can greatly reduce the tank level. I am a CPAP Newby.
I stopped adding (distilled) water to my AS10 two years ago. No perceptible ill effects….(Your results may vary! Please contact your sleep therapy provider before modifying/adjusting your operation or use of the equipment.)
My 10 doesn’t get me through the night either.
With the 10 after 8hours sleep I'm down to the minimum line. Heat Settings set to auto
can you use oxygen with the airsense 11....I don't see an oxy hose for this machine???
Yes you can you will need an enriched oxygen tube adapter as the airsense 11 has not come out with an oxy hose
Hi there,
the ResMed S8 Escape II would be a bit bulkier in size than these new units (ResMed Airsense 11/10) with the integrated humidifier. If you are not using the humidifier attachment then that will surly cut down the size of the machine. You can look into the ResMed Airmini which would be half the size in length and width of your current Escape II and you do not need to worry about distilled water. You can give us a call at 866 936 3754 if you have more questions.

I have had 3 sleep studies.......Hope to get a better read consistently......HOW?????
Hello Rosalyn,
It sounds like you need to sit down with the sleep Dr and see if you can review your compliance data off your CPAP machine and review the nightly detailed data (graph) and look at the difference between the night it your apnea's are 3/hr and 25/hr. Somethings like, medication, alcohol, mask not fitting right, and sleep positions can cause apneas to fluctuate. If it is a leak these things can be seen on your nightly graph.
Hello Baklash1762,
Topping out your humidifier with water every night ensures you do not run out but also ensures your heating element/plate does not burn.

@@brichter4669 Thanks. my unit is only about 1 year old. My second unit and third units are brand new.

What kind of software update ? And how did you do it? Are you refering to the diagnostic settings by holding the buttons or an actual update?
Im still using the S8, this machine was well built.
Hello Robert,
If your CPAP device is being calibrated once a year and proves on a monometer it is still providing adequate pressure you are good to keep using the S8. The reason why the manufactures request patients to replace the devices is because the motor slows down. Your display may say a pressure of 10 but in reality it could be only providing a therapy pressure of 6. This will under treat your sleep apnea and worse cause other underlying health issues.
What is the "For Her" setting. I have the 10 and the unit works fine for me. My problem is the mask and headgear not the unit
If it's even capable of it
The airsesnse 10s we carry do not have modems so do not have the capability to connect to myair.
i have read the motors are smaller in the 11?????? would this make an impact on durability? also is there going to be an adapter to make the straight hose connection angled like the 10?
Yes, the motor on the Airsense 11 is smaller at the machine is smaller. It is still durable and ResMed backs the machine to last 5 years or 25,000 blower hours. You are correct the hose connection does not have a swivel.
Hi thanks for this informative video. One follow-up question - i understand that the motor on the 11 is the same as the Airsense mini, is that correct? Is there any concern that this smaller motor has a higher chance of burning out over time, compared to the larger motor in the 10?
thanks
Hello Lise May,
I did have a chance to speak to a ResMed Rep and they actually did advise the motor size on the Airsense 11 and Airmini are different sizes. The Airsense 11 is a full time unit meant to function like the Airsense 10 and has a life span of up to 5 years.
thanks so much for this helpful video!

Hello there,
A good AHI per hour is under 5/hr.
Im using the CPap Air sence 10 Auto for 3 years. I want to know is there any power box for when the power goes of in the middle of the night.

Have you tried contacting your provider you purchased the unit from to see if there wan any issues ?
Nick Dunn is on UA-cam as CPAP Reviews.
Is it worth to upgrade from Airsense 10 auto?
That is completely up to you. If you are needing compliance reports, the convivence of bluetooth so your Dr is able to remote in your CPAP does make it easy. Many also like the touch screen. Feel free to speak to our medical staff at 1866 936 3754 if you have more questions

How loud is the 11 when its in use i hate noise and light when I'm trying to sleep

I've used the AirSense 10 with the SoClean system for 5 years. I'm waiting for my doctor to submit a new prescription for an AirSense 11. I understand that ResMed does not recommend SoClean with with its products any longer. What do you recommend? Perhaps the Sleep 8?
Hello Michael,
We always suggest good old water and soap is the best way to clean your CPAP supplies. Should you want to add an extra step we do advise the New liviliti Paptizer is a great alternative. Feel free to call us at 866 936 3754 for more info on the product.

SoClean uses ozone which is not recommended for cleaning your CPAP and like the other reply said it's best just to use soap and water

I have the new 11 and love it. No one has prompted with any questions or instructions ….hmmm
I can't tell the difference between the S9 and Airsence 10 while using it,
but I can tell between the S9 or Airsence 10 and the Remstar.
And that's what counts.
I don't fumble around on the buttons all the time, so I don't care about a touchscreen.
Thank you for watching and for sharing. Different CPAP manufacturers have different algorithms so when you switch from one brand to the other, it feels different even if the settings are the same.
Is there ANY other brand that can compete with these two models?
The Fisher & Payle Sleep Style is a great machine as well.
Can the same tubing be used with the AirSense 11? Are the filters different than those with the 10?
You can use the same non heated standard slim line tubing. Unfortunley, it is different heated tubing.

Can you connect the Resmed Pulse Oximeter to the Airsense 11?
At this time the oximetry module can only be connected to the Airsense 10.
I just got the 10 and I have found that it does not fully shutoff.
jmatsko25 - I am guessing that you've noticed the soft airflow on the Airsense 10 that occurs after you get up in the morning.
Thank you for the response!
Hello Michael,
Thank you for the comment and kinds words.
@@RespShop Is there a newer version of the AirSense 10 that supports 4G?
So how about how noisy is the new unit versus the 10 version? Is it noisier/louder or similar. That’s my biggest question as I am looking to move away from my cancer causing DreamStation. Thanks.
Hi Mark,
The dream station noise sits at 27.9DBA. Just so you have an example of the noise. The Airsense 10 is 26.6 DBA and the Airsense 11 is at 27 DBA.
Hope that answers your question.

The 10 noises are extremely annoying. You get a hissing air sound around your head that sounds like Darth Vader and also a noise from the machine like water running through pipes or someone filling a bathtub.

That's interesting, we're sorry to hear of your complications with the 10. Are you still using it?

Jason - I use the small CPAP brush that I use on my mask, and it's easy to clean the Airsense 10 water tank. I run it through the dishwasher every few weeks too. I don't care for the S11 tank design as it requires walking a tightrope every night to keep from spilling while moving a filled tank from sink to bedside.
@@WakeUpAmerican000s what CPAP are your referring to? Your right about the s10 tank as well, less water is an issue.
You can buy dishwasher safe tanks. I put both of my tanks through the dishwasher every week.
Thank you for sharing this info!

Currently there is no oximetry kit/module for the Airsense 11. But yes, the Bluetooth has been updated for 4G/5G networking!
My best friend has the 11 and I don't like it her machine doesn't have the curved hose like my 10 which is why I like mine more.

Thank you for sharing!
Hello Bob,
The Auto CPAP is not a new technology and most machines are set to auto for ease and comfort.
What is the difference in pressure between the Airsense 10 and airsense 10 for HER?
The for her is a softer algorithm and most effective from pressures 4-10cmH20. Woman breathe much more shallow then men, so a burst of pressure causes more arousals in woman and sleep disruption then men on a standard CPAP. If you enjoyed watching, please do not forget to Like, Share, & Subscribe for more CPAP and Sleep Apnea related content.
@@RespShop But doesn't the "FOR HER" model have both the settings, i.e. the "standard autoset" setting and the "autoset for her" setting?
I do not like the 11. It will not hold enough water. The hose going straight out from the machine is not as good. When it runs out of water it smell like it is burning.
Hello Susan, The Airsense 11 and 10 have the same size water chamber. It may be that you are having a high leak coming from your mask or mouth opening during sleep. This can cause more water to be used. Or You can also check to see if your humidity level is on the higher level.

Thank you for sharing your experience!
Can you use it with a so clean?
ResMed has not recommended attached the machine to the so clean and currently there is no adapter to connect the so clean to the S11. Please note OZONE can be very dangerous if not handled correctly.
I don't see any point in favor of the 11. Just a more expensive and more risky buy.
Thank you for the feedback.
I hate the airsense 11. It's so loud I can't sleep and it cuts out on the exhale making my breathing choppy. I wake up with a headache and a stomach ache from using it. The 10 is a much better machine.
Hello Mary,
The airsense 10 and 11 have the same internal algorithm and sound function. Main difference is the look, the touch screen and the bluetooth capability. I believe your provider may have your settings in correct and for noise, it should be the same as the Airsense 10, I would take it in to your provider to have it checked and make sure there is no issue with the unit.
