I used the Airsense 10 for 5 years and now I've used the Airsense 11 for 1 year. Yes, I do miss the swiveling hose on the Airsense 10. One thing I don't like about the 11 is that it's noisier than the 10. Even with earplugs, there's a slight whining noise I can hear from the 11 with the N30 mask. When I use the 10 it's dead silent, no sound at all with ear plugs. Also, the 11 started having heating problems with the humidifier after about 8 months. I had to get a new replacement. The 10 lasted all 5 years with no issues. Even with all that, I still do like the 11.

@@af1966 Same for me, even my wife said the 11 is quieter than my previous 10...and I had two of them for 10 years! The ResMed specs state that the 11 is slightly noisier than the 10...27 vs. 26.6 dBA, but the 11 uses less power...65W vs. 90W AC. Personally, I like the smaller profile of the 11 and the larger power button. Also, I get my results on the app immediately after turning my 11 off. The 10 would take larger for the results to be available from the ResMed database, but usually within an hour.

If it rolls over you need a longer hose such as a 10ft hose and turn the machine sideways (the 11) so the hose is coming directly to you. Put it on a silicone mat so it won't move.

I purchased the Airsense 10 Auto auto card to cloud. No Bluetooth. But For $400, it seems like a great deal to me.
I believe during Covid when there were supply chain shortages. They had to construct machines without modems. I use Oscar and it has an SD card. So it works fine for me.

I have been using CPAP's for over 20 years. I have been through several devices and my last unit is the AirSense 10 Respond, which I have had for about 5 1/2 years. It appeared that the AirSense 11 doesn't have the heated hose feature that my AirSense 10 has, and I am very found of. If I am able to select between the two, I will select the AirSense 10 Again. It has been the most effective of all the CPAP's I have owned and the most care free. So I don't plan to change.

The 11 might hold the same amount of water but it’s really hard to not spill any when you fill it up to the max. Really easy to put too much and the lower profile means it spills when you move the tank.

I use an AirSense 11. I trialed an AirCurve 10 ASV for a few weeks. I liked the interface on the 11 more. The 11 was also noticeably quieter. One advantage the 10 had been the availability of a 12V power supply. I just recently noticed 12V supplies are available for the 11. I have one on order. It should make it more efficient to power my CPAP while camping.

I’ve just started CPAP therapy and have hacked my way through a few nights of misery so far. I’m getting closer to a good “compromise “ pressure and mask situation. One day, hopefully soon, I’ll be contacting you for a fine tune on my settings. Until then my buddy Jason, wishing you the best and very thankful for your talent and passion to help folks. Cheers

As a majority of patients, I also started with a CPAP, and it did a really great job. It may be enough for you.
I have the chance to start with a very good mask... for me (I am a side sleeper, nice leak control, confortable) : the ResMes Mirage FX.
I now have a bi-level for my UARS, and I wanted to try another mask. I tried 5 (!!!) other masks that I completely dislike (skin irritation with the DreamWear Silicone Pillow) or like less than my first ResMed Mirage FX : A "big" nasal mask with flexible headgear.
      My opinions :
"Big" nasal masks are much more comfortable than small nasal masks (AirFit N30i) or nasal pillow masks (AirFit P30i)
=> more surface area in contact with the skin, less pressure, better comfort.
Also, it is always nice to have a full face mask when sick. I like the F&P Vitera : very comfortable and nice leak control.
Take your time and don't be afraid to try multiple masks and find a mask that you like 😀

I was able to stretch out my S9 to 10 years, and recently was faced with deciding between an AirSense 10 or 11 for a new machine. Didn't know about the tipping comparison between the two, but I would think that would be a minimal issue for most users. I did think the reservoirs had different volumes, but you confirmed they hold the same volume of water. The 11 is more vulnerable to spillage and I've heard mixed reviews on it's heating plate design. The motors on the 10 and 11 are different. The decibel levels are not that different, but maybe the durability and lifecycle costs of the motors might come into play. Surprised ResMed didn't keep the same Climatline tubing and connection used on the 10 for the 11. Carrying bag for the 11 is fairly compact. Like the idea that the machine can receive OTA SW updates.

My DME recently supplied me with the air sense 10. There is no connection for the DME or doctor to receive the info from the machine. After I called and spoke with the DME compliance department they said “just mail in the SDcard. So the charges can go through but how does the MD get results? Called the doctor-she called in the order for the air sense 11. Now waiting for delivery. She really wants the connection.

Had an AS10 Autoset, but on doing an in-lab sleep test, was changed to an AS10 Aircurve ST BiPAP. There is a difference in the way the pressures are managed, but now that I am used to it breathing is better. It does affect how full-face masks work - I can not get one (tried like 5 different ones) to work without leaks, and the pressure change (mine is 16 inhale, 8 exhale) makes the silicone cushion inflate/deflate to the point of not sleeping.....so the F&P Evora nasal mask and mouth-tape from BSN Cover-Roll does the best. I agree on picking an AirCurve if you are buying new.

Had AS10 and last year it broke, replaced with AS11, happy with it so far. What I don’t like is you can’t completely shut off with button (have to pull plug) so touch screen stays on for a few minutes after use. The hose port inside AS11 unlike AS10 easily pops out for cleaning. Weirdly every night AS11 blows air for a few seconds at 30 mins after use.

I am currently using the Airsense 11. However, I use an old Resmed S9 for travel, since I can use it without the humidifier. Yes, I can use the 11 with the adapter in place of the humidifier. I set the as11 on a wood box to make the hose level with the bed. I turned the hose connection to the bed. That also put the water chamber to the front making it way more convenient. I use a set pressure no auto mode. Overall I get along with it. Just the hose issue

I know these comments are not associated with the subject. I respect your knowledge on CPAP’s. There has been a lot of discussions about mouth taping. I had my first sleep study in Aug 2023. Later I discovered I could not use the nasal mask without taping my mouth closed. I got to wondering what would happen if I just taped my mouth closed during the night not using CPAP machine. I convinced my sleep doctor that I had quit drinking and lost weight ( not really honest) but I wanted another sleep study with my mouth taped closed during the test.
In March 2024 I had my second sleep study.
Results: First study, Time under 88% oxygen saturation 35 min, Second study 9 min.
First study, Central apnea index 4.1 events per hour. Second study 0.5 events per hour.
First study AHI was 33.8 events per hour. Second study 27 events per hour.
What other data would you like? Comments?

But… the only problem I have had with the Airsense 11 that I’ve seen mentioned in a few places over the last 3-4 months, is the humidification heating unit going kaput. Contacting my sleep center and DME offered a one day swap out.

Did they make turning on pre-heat any easier on the 11? My first CPAP machine had a button on top for that ... easy peasy. Come on ResMed, why make it a 300 level computer science project to turn on pre-heat?

After having so many breakdowns with the Airsense 11- both with my own machine and the loaners I got while my own machine was being fixed - I’m a fan of the 10. I don’t care if the 11 has more fancy-dancy features. Who cares if the 11 breaks down 😢constantly? Take my advice - keep your 10 until they come out with the 12. The 11 just isn’t made as well.

I like to start my treatment with "Run mask fit" every night. This way, I have time to adjust my sleeping position, my mask for leaks and calm my breathing before the PAP treatment start for real and start recording on the sd card. This way, less false events flag and the Sleep Report is cleaner (especially for Vt - Tidal Volume)
I like my AirSense 10 Elite (buy used) and my AirCurve 10 VAuto (bi-level for UARS treatment) physical buttons and knob, this way I can access the menu without my reading glasses : I can count the steps on the knob to access "Run mask fit"
Nice bonus : the screen stay clean.
The swiveling heated tube thing help since I like to have the screen facing me. I always check how my night went using the "Sleep Report". I like to check sleep time, RR, Ti and I:E for fun. I also like to check AHI, leak and Vt (especially now on bi-level) to see if everything is ok.
If everything is ok (feeling good and Sleep Report ok) I can be weeks without reading the SD Card using OSCAR.
The knob and physical button + the
swiveling tube thing + possibility to buy an after market motor + possible airbreak + lower cost on the used market : AirSense 10 is the winner for me.

Also, who else is left-handed and LOVES how the fill-line is only visible to right-handed people? Touching, really, thanks guys. You shouldn't have. Oh right, you didn't. How endearing. ❤
No matter how carefully I try to fill that thing, even just ⅔ full, a few drops almost inevitably trickle out the back near the hinge, leaving a little wet spot. I've just taken to keeping a towel nearby. I can't set it directly on top of a towel because the fabric just makes it more unstable and almost ensures that it will topple.

Cons from perspective of moving from DreamStation 1 to ResMed AirSense 11:
    - AirSense 11 is Loud, I feel like I have Darth Vader hovering over me as I am breathing through it. I sleep with a Fan going that drowns it out though so acceptable with fan. Without fan noise I would never get to sleep with this machine.
    - Hose in back is annoying. I guess if I turn the machine around backwards it is ok. Dreamstation had connection on top on swivel which was great.
    - Water tank is annoying. Easy to spill water. Dreamstation was the gold standard for water tank.
    - With Dreamstation I was very well rested every morning and fell asleep easily without issues. With this Airsense 11 with same settings and same mask, I am having issues sleeping. Something is different with this machine and I dislike it so far. Hopefully I can figure it out but may just be the machine.

      I think it's "Lego Man."

I've use both AS10 & AS11. I find they both function well. The AS11 is a tad louder, but only by a hair. I use a 90 degree elbow adapter from my old AS10 with it, so I don't mind that it doesn't swivel. My only gripe is that the water tank "clicks" as I inhale and exhale - which I've overcome by placing an elastic band in the latch as I close the lid. To be honest, I like them both. I only bought the AS11 for the smaller size and nicer screen. It was the same price as the AS10, do I figured why not. If I had to do it again, I'd probably make the same choice. 😊

Legoman is working on his JD, so it's an honest mistake.

It does sound like he's saying "Legal Man" at one point in the video. 😄

@2:20 Totally False. A larger tank is needed in super dry climates. Resmed hasn’t tested the product in the driest parts of the USA.

The driest parts of the USA are when central air conditioning is used! In west Texas we used propane in winter and evap coolers in summer... kept us moist.

Seems like ResMed keeps doing away with things I liked. First off, WHY did they get rid of the swivel??? Now with the S11 my mask gets twisted around and pulled askew, because it doesn't have that swivel. WHY did they replace the simple gray power cable of the S9 with the "two-cables-and-a-clunky-converter-box-but-with-only-one-velcro-tie" combo? I HATE those!
Why did they make the humidifier chamber MORE of a floppy drippy tiny flimsy burny pain in the ass?
Why did they stop making the carry-case BIG ENOUGH TO HOLD EVERYTHING??? Traveling with the S9 was SOOO much easier than with the S10 OR S11. Everything about the S9 was way more conducive to grab-and-go. With the S10 and S11 you have to do a lot of fumbling and fiddling to cram everything into a case so ridiculously... and come on, what's with those two useless pockets on the inside flap??? Seriously! What kind of inane bullshit is that? And then the one zipper pocket on the outside with NO ROOM for anything!
These are some of the reasons I snapped to attention when watching your recent video covering the Fisher & Paykel stuff. The F&P SleepStyle has a lot of the features I miss about ResMed stuff, yes including the handle on top.
Another criticism of both the S10 and S11: those numbers in the "sleep report" are such BS. Like you said in another video: random number generators.
Sleep report: "You slept 6 hours."
Me: "That's not very reassuring, since I only took a 1-hour nap. "
I appreciate all the leaps in functionality, the heated hoses, the clinician's remote access, etc, but why did they abandon good stuff they already had, and for something shittier?
As for the problem of accidentally pulling machines onto the floor, I've had that problem with every machine I've ever owned, except maybe my big Millennium Falcon-sized S8.
