A-C Joint Separation (non surgical)

Not all A-C joint separations need to be treated surgically. In this video, you will see a gentleman who had a motorcycle accident and had a severe AC joint separation. I have the same injury and have the same strength and rotation , however over time developed pain / spasms around the traps scapula area - now considering surgery after a year

I have mild separation in my right ac joint. Will it heal on its own? Like fully heal? The hospital just put me in a sling and told me to give it a few weeks. And not to lift anything heavy.

Wear your sling for 2-4 weeks and rehab you will recover 100% , I had grade 2 separation also

I had a type 2 separation in 2015. My shoulder hasn't been the same ever since, and I was recently diagnosed with athritis in my ac joint

Could I lift weights/ work out to get my muscle back in my arm after this injury? Would martial arts be completely out of the picture now?

Your good man.. once you heal it’s like you never got the injury but the bump will be a lil visible
