i worked out for 100 days in a row - this is what happened

- When YesTheory makes a challenge you know it's going to push you out of your comfort zone! Lou and I began 100 Days of Sweat this past summer while living in our 40 year old van. Neither of us has been very good at sticking with any kind of exercise plan or fitness routine, but we thought that committing to something of this length would be the perfect way to kick start a consistent exercise habit in our life. Since we didn't have access to a gym during the challenge, we focused on bodyweight exercises, power walking, swimming, and hiking for the majority of the 100 days.
100 Days of Sweat was a huge commitment and definitely one of the most challenging things we did in 2019. Thank you, Ammar and the YesTheory team for sharing such an amazing experience with us and pushing us to seek discomfort.
We hope you enjoy this glimpse into our life on the road!

Hats off to you for doing this. But I was waiting for the conclusion statements - what changed - in body, mind, habits? What have you learned, what's the pros and cons (not in the sense of doing it during van-life vs doing it when you're settled in a house), etc. Maybe in an additional video?
Same, I felt it was incomplete, but perhaps they will address that in a future video
Not everything needs a conclusion mate :)
I was shocked there was no wrap-up! She’s so good at that! Disappointed at a real opportunity lost. The reflections are almost the most valuable part in a video like this.
Yes! I was about to comment the same thing. The "what happened" in the title lead me to wait for the results of working out for 100 days - how did it change you physically and mentally?
Yep. I was also watching it for the learnings from this challenge.. Hope you do another video on this! :)
I would have loved to see a side by side picture of how your bodies changed: Day 1/Day 100
Right?
Not everyone’s body changes the same way and it’s more about the journey of commitment. I see that in some cases there is change but this video demonstrates about how the workout is implemented into a routine
for those of you wondering what kind of impact this had on their lives, I'll tell you about mine :)
If you don't wanna read this whole ass essay down here just skip to the last bit thats where i talk about the results. hahaha
ive just recently finished doing my 100 days of sweat challenge inspired by yes theory :) and I'm now carrying on that 100 days into a 200 days of sweat. Sounds crazy but throughout the first challenge working out everyday slowly became a habit and now it feels weird to not workout everyday. so i wanted to keep it going for 200 days.
Day 1 - Day 7 were definitely the hardest to get going. What kept me motivated was that if I missed one day, then I'd have to start again. And I'd also started on the 23rd of september 2019 which means that Day 100 would be New years. So I wanted to finish 2019 strong and healthy and I knew i wouldn't be able to do that if i felt lazy for just one day.
I got stronger and stronger mentally and physically, I've learnt so many new skills and its now become a part of my life. Ive just started learning calisthenics too, it's super hard but I have so many goals in mind and I know ill reach them some day hahaha.
but this 100 days of sweat changed my mindset SO much. I have a way more positive outlook on life and am spending my time towards the things that actually matter. I've learnt self discipline which was a HUGE part of this challenge and it has helped me to focus on myself rather than what others might be thinking. I've found myself appreciating the little things way more and my diet is 100x healthier, everyday actually has a purpose now, I feel like a whole new person. I'm a 15yo girl and this has MEGA changed my life. If i can do it you can do it. I believe in y'all :):)
sui love to hear that you’re doing so great! I’m 16 and I’ve been thinking for a while now that I should start working out. But I can tell you that I’ve felt the same way as you have(change of mindset, focusing on what really matters to myself, enjoying the little things in life and so on) just by doing yoga for almost 30 days. I think everyone should try yoga for at least 10 days in a row to see results not only on the physical level, but mostly in the inside(mental). It might seem weird and funny at first, but if you commit to showing up you will start finding what fells good.
So if anyone what’s to try yoga, I highly recommend Yoga with Adriene for beginners, and not only:) Maybe yoga is not your thing and you prefer working out, but nothing bad will happen if you try it. Good luck on your 200 days journey!
sui I think this is so amazing that you did that! Thank you for sharing your experience with us! Because of you I will actually try this myself! I have just one question, how much do you do every day?
@@boieriuirina3641 hey! definitely yoga is such a good idea, i reckon some yoga in the morning would be sweet, great way to start the day haha, your english is great and its so cool that you're from romania, I'm from nz 🇳🇿❤️
@@Caroline-cd5xl thanks so much! :) that so cool to hear that you are going to start this challenge, proud of you 🥳
basically, I consider my daily workout done when I can touch my face with my fingertips and they come back wet (like when I can clearly see the sweat on them), that's actually so gross now that I think about it (HAHA) but anyway, thats when I will tick my grid with satisfaction.
I do a mix of muscle work and cardio, the days where I do cardio are my 'active rest' days
Don't go too hard cause your body will need time to rest and repair itself, an active rest day could be something like yoga or any sort of light cardio to get your heart rate up, active rest days should be light and not put excessive strain on your body.
definitely get into jump rope its got SO many variations and burns a ton of calories, on all my active rest days jump rope is for sure my go to cardio. check out Jump Rope Dudes - I follow their workouts and they are great, they have a bunch of tutorials too.
**rest is important**, you know your body better than anyone else, if you feel you need to rest more than other days, go easy with some stretches, don't push yourself to the point where you risk injury
heres what my week looks like, there are some days like mondays and wednesdays where I will do a full body workout
i go to the gym after school everyday:
Monday - Calisthenics + (legs + abs) - gym
Tuesday - active rest cardio + abs - gym
Wednesday - Calisthenics + (legs + abs) - gym
Thursday - active rest cardio + abs - gym
Friday - legs +abs - gym
Saturday - Calisthenics - no gym
Sunday - active rest cardio - no gym
if you're keen to have a go at calisthenics, I use this beginners workout (cause I'm pretty new to it too) its actually really good and it's got all the different progressions so you can make the movements harder as you get better at them.
ua-cam.com/video/ay15dc2cvm0/v-deo.html
anyway,
shit i wrote SO much Hhahahah but I hope I answered your question and gave you something to start with :):):):) best of luck, you got this 💪
sui 15 years old!!! You are amazing! I am inspired.
I’m glad I read the comments and didn’t waste 10 mins of my life 😅
Title says that you’d share what happened. Please do
Really enjoyed this video, I have to say though I was surprised you didn’t share whether you experienced any benefits from the regular exercise. I started working out daily in September last year and the mental and physical benefits have been incredible, as well as feeling a real sense of pride and achievement. I felt like the message was lost or maybe missed off of the end of the video. Not a criticism I’ve been a loyal subscriber for years and really enjoyed the video, just genuinely curious as to your experience and growth at the end of the challenge.
Great video! I would have loved to get a summary on your process concerning strenght, mental health and general wellbeing at the end of the video though. :) really like this challenge
111 days for me. I am beyond happy. I was able to decrease my stroke meds about two months ago because my blood pressure was getting too low. That is awesome. I'm happy.
"I'm a little nervous but I'm really happy we have each other"
😢😍that was so sweet
Building such wonderful memories. You will be suprised when it comes back to you.
100 days. I’m all in.
Starting with a 45 minute power walk right now, on my “walking machine” that I have been procrastinating to use.
This is day one!
Thanx for the motivation ❤️
Yay! Go you
you still doin it? 😳
how’d it go?
@@ruby-fj5cz
Thanks for asking. It turned out better than expected😎, and the 45 minutes quickly turned to 1 hour with a paste just below running.
But then.... The pandemic hit. I had to evacuate to my home country, get a new job and later adapt to new tax-laws that was implemented in my country (Sweden).
Long story short. I can no longer make 1 years salary in 6 months due to the new taxation. Therefore I’m working like a dog and on the few days of I have I truly relax by doing absolutely nothing.
I nowadays work too much to continue my exercise😐
It's strange that anyone would dislike this video..it's beautifully shot, life provocating, motivating, and positive. It does nothing more than help others.
Because they never told us the results, how they felt after, the progress of it. And because just because they “sweat” didn’t mean shit, because everyone sweats differently and it has to do with the humidity and heat
i love these videos so much, they're so aesthetically pleasing, the shots are all so well-thought out, and you can tell how much work the editing/voice overs took. Loveeeee~~~
Ahh well done guys - so proud of you!
This video is soo motivating, would be amazing to have a second one chatting about what changed for you guys, mentally and phisically (:
I love how this video is not about how your body looks or how many kilos you lost! Is about the beauty of exercise and the posity impact it has on you body and your mental health. And also the struggles that come with starting something new! Loved it
You both are so inspiring. Amazing journalists too! This video shows that exercise is possible outside of a normal routine if determined to do so. I look forward to more videos and your smiles 💕be well
He-he! Love your guy's enthusiasm! Great site's, too! Really love the beach and waterfall! Cheers! 😁🤸♂️
Thank you for your authentic way of capturing life and documenting the journey.
Hands down two of the most beautiful souls I've found on youtube.
Nah watch boho beautiful. Atleast she knows how to do a simple pushup
@@jesslabrunette Being a beautiful soul has ZERO to do with simple pushups...
I'm so proud of you guys and I'm pretty sure Yes theory is too. I also really appreciated the honesty, you could've just not told us that Dana missed day 98 and none of us would've ever known but the truth is this is really hard but you guys did it! Lots of love from Belgium💕
This is actually the cutest thing every. I love y’all!
I have watched 2-3-4 of your videos but you both are so amazing! Dana’s smile is so sincere that I can’t help but smile to the screen like an idiot 😄 thank you guys for the smiles :)
oh wow I've been absent from your videos ! so shocked and proud to see how much your subscribers have grown!! truly one of the best channels on here!!
I’m captivated by your editing and storytelling! I just subscribed! I love your perspective and style. I’m excited to watch more 🙌
Wow, congrats!
This video was so motivational, thank you for documenting your journey! :)
Can't believe I've only just found this blog! Love it!!
WOW!!! Inspiring. Loved watching this journey!
I really love your smile. I dont know why but every time I see it, I'm full of energy. Have a nice life!
What a daunting little piece of printer paper up on the wall of Ody! Hahaha
Well done, both of you. I've struggled to do 100 days of sweat in 48 years! 😀
The music in this edit is perfect
You two are such inspirational, beautiful people. Never ever change.
Very inspiring! It makes me want to do this challenge as well. Good job for finishing 💪🏻 And only skipping one day is really not that bad!
Woooah awesome effort and awesome film-making!
Love you guys! It's inspiring watching your videos, seeing your commitment and your love for each other! Keep on rocking!
I am 100% going to push myself to do this challenge! Thank you for the motivation!!!
Thanks for the motivation. I think I'm going to try this out. I need a new challenge. Missing a day is not too bad. Iceland looks amazing
What parameters did you put on you 100days? Like how do you determine what counts as a work out?
jawjarrose cosplay i think at least breaking a sweat, hence 100 days of sweat :)
I was wondering the same, how long was each workout session? Does it differ depending on the type of exercise?
Irene Mars has well I break a sweat from beating myself shmeat and that’s not a workout😂
Irene Mars just because you sweat doesn’t mean shit. It matter how hard you’re working not about the sweat.
I am no joke on day 58 of a 60 day workout challenge with my colleagues. I started from nothing and haven't missed a single day!
The transformation to body and mind have been astounding, but this final stretch has been tough.
I really needed this video to help me keep going -- if you can do 100 from nothing then I can finished out my 60!
Thanks for the boost! Stay strong!
ive seen a lot of footage of europe, but through this video- europe is calling my name!
I'm really curious about your editing workflow guys! That amount of footage must be so well organized in order to keep the good content. I'd love to see a video related to that. Love your channel! hugs
I keep finding your videos when I look up stuff and I’m subscribing! Y’all are awesome!
You two are awesome💪🏼💪🏼 and so sweet together. Enjoy this time in your lives ❤️ The adventures, the stories you’re creating, the things you will overcome together will serve you through your partnership, possibly parenthood, and the latter years of your life. Cheers!
More than the scenery, the workout and everything else, I love the camaraderie between you two most of all 💙
You guys are some serious motivation. 💪🏼🎉❤️
I don’t know why. But watching you progress through this challenge and seeing the footage really made me emotional. What an inspiring experience 🤍
This is crazy inspirational! I didn’t know I needed this until I clicked!

You both are an inspiration. I've been following you guys since plant based traveller days, and I must say, you never fail to be an inspiration to everyone, or atleast to me.
Having someone to workout with you is so motivating tho omg
This is awesome, keep it up! I’m on day 527 of working out every day, changed my life!
Wooo!!! Congrats! Well done! You’re inspiring me to work out more. Are you going to share your thoughts on the experience too?

I think I'm in love with this lifestyle... traveling and visiting like... everywhere... and WELL DONE YOU 2 WERE ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!
I love your guys videos. You tell your story so well, in combination with the music you choose and your editing, I'm always amazed at how much I connect with your stories even though I don't know you and live much differently. Your videography skills are really amazing. I feel like you guys could definitely be making movies and winning awards
you guys are amazing! you never fail to astound me. kisses from berlin x
Hey you two. First Video I watched. Totally loved it. You're making great Videos and I do know how much work this is because I am doing it too. So for mee a big Thumbs up for doing the Challenge AND doing a very nice Video. THANKS a LOT! I had a wonderful time.
Hello from Tennessee. It's absolutely breathtakingly beautiful there. I love watching y'alls videos. ❤
You are both amazing!! Sending lots of love from Prague ❤❤
Love watching your videos so much! Greetings from Switzerland 💖
Greetings from Zurich.
wow this just looks so beautiful and you seem so happy, also the landscape and the videography is nice
every time I watch one of our videos, my heart is warmed by seeing your love for each other
This is so inspiring. The chart you created was so simple but very easy to follow. I'm in the process of trying to lose weight but my working schedule is so busy. I tried to push myself to work out and set some certain calories to burn every single day. But I only can finished 60% of the plan on the first month - only 3.5 kg lost in total. There are days that I was so tired and felt like exercising is a duty instead of an fun activity. I feel I had put so much pressure on myself by trying to reach those numbers and that's the reason why I could not complete them all. The simplicity of your chart makes me realize I should just be happy and excited about being active at least once a day.
Oh my gosh! I'm so happy UA-cam suggested this video to me. You two are awesome! I've recently committed to exercise too and it's been so amazing to feel like I can do anything if I can commit to my exercise. I loved how you found that with your commitment to working out too!
I also love how diverse your workouts were. So many people get caught up in the idea that the gym is the only place to get fit but I love how there's so many amazing other ways to exercise that are so much fun as well.
Beautiful ocean, I love your motivation. Im going to try that but light workout due to bad knees.
Just Subscribed to you guys yesterday. Damn!! Thank you for the inspiration! 💪❤
i'm starting a channel on self-development and habit change, so I'm definitely gonna consider doing this as a challenge. 😅 Would love to see a follow up video on how it improved/affected aspects of your life/body/mind etc :)
Wow! That was fantastic!! Thank you. 💜
Love your energy !
Excellent video. Inspirational rather than informational. High quality production and editing...can’t believe you achieved both those things on the road (100 days of sweat AND make a high quality video.) well done.
Awesome video you guys. Have an amazing week, Andreas 🇸🇪
This video just encouraged me to go over my exercise routine. Thank you for that!
