I teach 11 - 15 year old Sunday school. One boy is kind, thoughtful, is dyslexic and stutters. One girl has a tendency to mock this very tall, handsome young man by comparing her superior use of proper grammar to his sometimes incorrect word usage. There is another girl who is extremely introverted. The boy answered a question correctly, but his sentence structure was a bit off. Smart girl corrected his wording and told him he needed to listen to her speak and learn how to do it correctly. I was getting ready to stop her when the introverted girl looked up with a wicked look on her face and she called to the smart girl and loudly said, "Hmmm... I'm thinking you need to remember who in this room got the highest SAT score, by far.. I kinda remember it was not you. It was me. You don't have any place to belittle anyone." The smart girl has kept her mouth in check since.
An athiest friend told me once that religious people put as much energy into defending their choices of taking the easy route of following the crowd as they would if they would just stand for the right. Defending wrong is exhausting with no reward. Standing for truth requires effort and commitment, but the peace of mind and ability to move forward and upward is great.
I love your suggestion of keeping our “chastening” to the scriptures. The Word is what will change hearts and minds. Those who are not receptive to scriptural arguments have chosen willful disobedience.
I was that kid that was weird and bullied. I was from a family that was different at that time than most and really just didn't have better and often didn't know better. I don't feel like the bullying was really helpful in teaching me how to be more normal. Things are really different now. It is not just that we don't have the shunning and shaming or other "bully tools" employed, but that it has become more the popular thing to imitate the weird and strange behaviors rather than avoid them. To this day I still have not learned the social graces for how to fit in (probably apparent in not being able to figure out comments even). I have tried. However, I do think there is something about being on "the outside" and seeing your peers who have their hair done this way or clothes that way who seem to be enjoying more time with friends, having more opportunities for going and doing fun things, etc. that is helpful. I tried to learn from their inadvertent modeling since I didn't have that at home. I appreciated the times people actually would kindly point out to me things that were weird or strange that maybe I could work on, even sometimes helping by giving me advice for how to improve or sometimes even resources. Having people around you begin to conform, or if not imitating you, consoling and/or congratulating you for being the weird or strange one takes away from that modeling I was able to at least work on using, and decreases the number of kind people willing to suggest the behaviors and thinking that might be holding you back in social circles. (Sorry I am bad at articulating. TLDR: We don't need more bullies, we just need more honest and true loving kindness.)
As someone who grew up bullied and weird because my dad was a music teacher and we did classical music intead of sports and got called fatso on the daily because I was plump, etc I think you expressed perfectly what is much more helpful. I am still shy and careful at 61, and I certainly learned empathy for the underdog.
Oh my! This was so good. So well said. I have been preaching to my family since 2021 that a division is here and getting worse. They mostly poo pah me and say “soothing” church platitudes to me. Oh, I don’t think so Mom. I think people have been saying this stuff for years and nothing much changes. They look at each other and raise their eyebrows knowingly and I tell them EVERY THING HAS CHANGED! I tell them that Noah preached for years about the flood and one day it happened. There was kind of a big change. When I speak of the “big change“ of the election and what that’s going to bring forth… They say things like but nothings happened. It’s just going to be the way it was when he was in the first term. They’re just going to attack him constantly and then he’ll be out and, there will be another election. There will only be six of us for Thanksgiving this year ! 😂 not because they’re mad at me, but because they’re sick of me and they do not understand. They are so very comfortable in their lives. They can’t imagine things changing because their eyes are not open. And it is happening right in front of them. I hope this made sense.
Point out to them that Wh ites used to be the supermajority in this country, the way our founding fathers intended, and now we are predicted to be the minority. This is destroying America and Western civilization, because only Wh ite people can produce and maintain western civilization. That should hopefully wake them up.

I was constantly getting into arguments and fights with elders, quorum presidency, and bishopric over that infamous designation called “Jesus loves everyone and we have to love everyone and be tolerant and “and they used, or even had the audacity I’m calling it “charity”. And I said I am going to hate the sinner because these woke behaviors, trying to force bat behavior down my throat and tell me in the same sentence that Jesus is commanding it that I need to be tolerant to it because of the name of charity or I will go to hell. And that pissed me off so much, part of that I decided I don’t wanna be with these people. And now that I too see the turn that you are describing, I am discussed by these people because they have absolutely no spine, I mean, if you wanna stand for something stand for it by all means, but now they feel the pressure they are like the flag in the wind, no spine, stand for nothing, they say, whatever is needed in order to keep a low profile or not to cause any problems, or not to offend anybody, or charity, intolerance and blah blah blah.
It's a big hill to climb. The Savior spoke "Love one another" to His deciples. It's like Saints forget who he destroyed in 3rd Nephi...entire cities burned, sunk into the sea etc. No where in scripture does it say "love the sinner ..hate the sin" yet it's treated as such.😢
My parents taught me the importance of nutrition and exercise. I sprout and grind ancient grains for sourdough bread. Buy meat from a local ranch, grow a garden. Doing my best pass this information on to my children.

@WatcherPalmer Brother Palmer, I want to say "amen" to much of what you shared here. There is one topic that you touched on that is very tender to me and I would like to share a little bit with you. Please understand that I am coming from a place of love and respect for you, and I am not hating on you. I don't think that bullying should be brought back. Now, I do not support the lifestyles and choices that so many people are making that are blatantly and clearly in defiance with the commandments of God. At the same time, I am not going to go out and pick fights with them. I will, and do, stand up for what is right when those occasions happen, but I'm not going to go out and look for trouble. I will be civil, but I won't bend on supporting "wokeness". I find "wokeness" to be quite nauseating. That said, bullying and attitudes of superiority is also not the Lord's way. I have been on the receiving end of a lifetime of bullying, beginning as a baby, and from kindergarten through college, and pretty much in every place of employment that I've worked in. Also, from neighbors and landlords, and in so many different scenarios. I've been screamed at, threatened, pushed, shoved, lied about and scapegoated. Thankfully, the Lord has guided me to understand why and what to do about it, to learn how to handle situations, and to even protect myself from toxic people and from walking into toxic situations, which I have often done in my naivete and ignorance. I have spent much of my life being so afraid and begging for help, only to have it fall on deaf ears-----except for Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost. I'm grateful to the Lord for the things that I've been learning. I only wish that I would have learned these things earlier in life. Bullying is not the right answer. Jesus Christ set the example of how we should treat one another. Even when He was confronted by His opposers during His ministry and trial and crucifixion, He was neither a victim nor a bully. His way is the right way. Learning to follow His example is often easier said than done, but I will keep trying. ❤❤❤
Yes! I have autistic kids who've been driven away from the church because of bullying. Not to mention growing up bullied myself along with my family because we didn't fit the mold despite being very faithful
I think there’s a difference between “to divide” and “to cause division”. Someone causing division goes into a group that “is one” and wants to break it up to cause pain. Christ dividing is just his way of labeling and clarifying what already is, that there is righteousness and unrighteousness and he just gives an explanation on how to distinguish the two, and eventually will make judgement on it.
Excellent video. I've noticed a lessening of wokeness, too. One key thing right now is to not get comfy, but keep up whatever preps you feel are important. I wonder if we won't have 4 whole years of reprieve, but the gl0balists will push back so that the corrections being attempted by the next admin. will "fail" (think sabotag3d) . Hey, do you have any good recommendations for cold weather work gloves and clothing? My sons are working on the woodworking inside the Yorba Linda California temple. So yes, it does not get snow, snowy and freezing temperatures here, but it still gets cold. And I would like to get them some things for Christmas.
Carhart is a good work brand of clothing. It has kind of been taken over by the in crowd, but it makes for sturdy, warm, outdoor clothing. They have everything. I get mine from Tractor Supply. My youngest son has tons of Carhart clothing. He raises cows, goats, chickens. He is out in freezing temperatures all winter long.
Scott: Love it! On Bullying, funny you should say that, my son in law that you met has said this exact thing. The things he says are more "Archie Bunker" than me, but if you hear him out...there's logic to it. It's the self-correcting mechanism, or used to be, for our children. DEI vs. Meritocracy: I say eliminate the minimum wage so our children can learn invaluable work skills at McDonald's or Buddy's or Marie Callender's Pies in my day. Someone working at McDonald's should not be expecting to support a family of four on that wage...unless he is a district or general manager. The church does this with Deseret Industries. That is a job creation enterprise, and job training enterprises, that hires a lot of people who would not be employable elsewhere, but can get some confidence and experience and hopefully they can move to a hire paying job. Everyone has got to start somewhere.
Suggestion: Instead of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; IOC: Invitation (to righteousness), Opportunity (for salvation), and Call (to enter into the Savior’s fold).
I really like what you are saying, and I agree, the wokeness is slowly dying and we are realizing that certain individuals pushed their agendas, and forced people to abide by their falsehoods and wicked ways. There are a lot of people who see them for what its worth, and we have the Gospel of Jesus Christ to guide us in our decisions and we can discern what the truth is. I am not the best at reading, and I prefer to listen to the scriptures on the Gospel Library app or the Book of Mormon app. I also like to listen to the scriptures on the Church's website in the Gospel Library section. I feel like God has provided us with these tools to use for how we learn best. We need to put our trust in God and not in the arm of flesh. I know that the Family Proclamation is something that we need to abide by. It is modern-day scripture given by a modern-day prophet, President Hinckley was inspired when he presented that document to the World.
President Palmer, there a few LDS UA-camrs who sincerely believe that the 2nd Coming is going to take place within the next 7-10 years. I did reach out to one of these people to remind them that even the Angels in Heaven do not know when this will happen. I would love for you to do a video on this topic.
But I have to say that since there is a lot of indifference going on. It makes people think & the wheels are turning. Homeschool, Gardening, all the good self sustaining & back the the roots of things are happening. I love it so much.

Just to clarify, as I think you might not know how this will be taken. But when you say bullying, I think you are referring to the kindest 1% of bullying. I don’t know if you fully understand the level of bullying people experience. It’s more insane than i ever expected the more I learn. But the things you mentioned by example is more like just calling out bad or strange behavior. That would be like the nicest 1% of bullies. I do not think you would, correct me if I’m wrong, condone harassing someone who has Down syndrome, or beating a toothpick kid to a pulp daily, or burning the backpack of a kid because they play chess. But rather just make occasional off the cuff true statements like “that’s weird that you as a boy want to be a girl, that’s unnatural and is wrong and weird”. That would probably make sense to be helpful to an extent. But what I do is imagine, what if Christ were a high schooler today. What would he say to all sorts of different individuals, and that’s probably how we should act. He would probably kindly call our immoral behavior, but not harass and attack nerdy or mentally restarted people, etc. Edit: I think you clarified this to some extend later in the video. I just like to comment as I’m watching!

Scott I have to agree with you bullying approach. But parents either teach submission and victimhood and never teaching a child to stand your ground and be defensive with physical contact. But adults need to temper he children’s bullying. Teaching both sides to consider the individual and the group.

It’s not an easy task and I too get frustrated but am always studying in preparation of open discussion and persuasion as my patriarchal blessing informed me I was to do some 50 years ago. When you say, almost at the end, that organic food is difficult to find. I have heard that it can be called organic if they use the sludge from the sewer treatment plants. Which is human waste with any medications that people have taken still present. Look it up do a presentation on it That would be eye-opening for everybody. It’s not truly organic unless you’ve raised it yourself. You know the soil that you’ve planted it in you know the everything that’s gone into that plant and that food coming off there. Do some research Scott and Susan and tell the world.
My view on immigration has changed a lot. Of course we need to vet those coming into the country, but my views have been molded by 2 Nephi 1 & Joseph Smith’s campaign platform. What I see is that God leads people here and if bad people are coming that is an indictment on our national morality. My opinion is that to be compliant, we should be driving out the morality (D&C 123), not those seeking a land of promise.

Brother Palmer, I want to say "amen" to much of what you shared here. There is one topic that you touched on that is very tender to me and I would like to share a little bit with you. Please understand that I am coming from a place of love and respect for you, and I am not hating on you. I don't think that bullying should be brought back. Now, I do not support the lifestyles and choices that so many people are making that are blatantly and clearly in defiance with the commandments of God. At the same time, I am not going to go out and pick fights with them. I will, and do, stand up for what is right when those occasions happen, but I'm not going to go out and look for trouble. I will be civil, but I won't bend on supporting "wokeness". I find "wokeness" to be quite nauseating. That said, bullying and attitudes of superiority is also not the Lord's way. I have been on the receiving end of a lifetime of bullying, beginning as a baby, and from kindergarten through college, and pretty much in every place of employment that I've worked in. Also, from neighbors and landlords, and in so many different scenarios. I've been screamed at, threatened, pushed, shoved, lied about and scapegoated. Thankfully, the Lord has guided me to understand why and what to do about it, to learn how to handle situations, and to even protect myself from toxic people and from walking into toxic situations, which I have often done in my naivete and ignorance. I have spent much of my life being so afraid and begging for help, only to have it fall on deaf ears-----except for Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost. I'm grateful to the Lord for the things that I've been learning. I only wish that I would have learned these things earlier in life.
Bullying is not the right answer. Jesus Christ set the example of how we should treat one another. Even when He was confronted by His opposers during His ministry and trial and crucifixion, He was neither a victim nor a bully. His way is the right way. Learning to follow His example is often easier said than done, but I will keep trying. ❤❤❤

Yes! I have autistic kids who've been driven away from the church because of bullying. Not to mention growing up bullied myself along with my family because we didn't fit the mold despite being very faithful
I think there’s a difference between “to divide” and “to cause division”. Someone causing division goes into a group that “is one” and wants to break it up to cause pain. Christ dividing is just his way of labeling and clarifying what already is, that there is righteousness and unrighteousness and he just gives an explanation on how to distinguish the two, and eventually will make judgement on it.
Excellent video. I've noticed a lessening of wokeness, too.
One key thing right now is to not get comfy, but keep up whatever preps you feel are important. I wonder if we won't have 4 whole years of reprieve, but the gl0balists will push back so that the corrections being attempted by the next admin. will "fail" (think sabotag3d) . Stuff may get crazy within a year or 2. Hopefully, more time than that to Come to Jesus, so we are ready when Jesus Comes. But we'll see what happens. Still watching the signs, and boy are they everywhere. COW-in' on!

I have to say I am confused by wokeness in the church. Is it a Utah thing? If so why would anyone want to stay in Utah!? Hahaha I have never had to face anything like what you have described here in Texas, but then I don’t live in Austin so….. maybe that would make a difference. Lol. It’s just crazy to me how people can proclaim to know and understand Jesus Christ and still support the whole woke-ism movement. I have no doubt the weeding out process of the wheat and tares started some time ago and we are probably nearing the end. I hope.

I think it is a Utah thing! I was baptized in NC. I also lived in IL, now OH. The only people I see in church with wokeism are from the west.

Hey, do you have any good recommendations for cold weather work gloves and clothing? My sons are working on the woodworking inside the Yorba Linda California temple. So yes, it does not get snow, snowy and freezing temperatures here, but it still gets cold. And I would like to get them some things for Christmas.
Carhart is a good work brand of clothing. It has kind of been taken over by the in crowd, but it makes for sturdy, warm, outdoor clothing. They have everything. I get mine from Tractor Supply. My youngest son has tons of Carhart clothing. He raises cows, goats, chickens. He is out in freezing temperatures all winter long.

Scott: Love it! On Bullying, funny you should say that, my son in law that you met has said this exact thing. The things he says are more "Archie Bunker" than me, but if you hear him out...there's logic to it. It's the self-correcting mechanism, or used to be, for our children.
DEI vs. Meritocracy: I say eliminate the minimum wage so our children can learn invaluable work skills at McDonald's or Buddy's or Marie Callender's Pies in my day. Someone working at McDonald's should not be expecting to support a family of four on that wage...unless he is a district or general manager.
The church does this with Deseret Industries. That is a job creation enterprise, and job training enterprises, that hires a lot of people who would not be employable elsewhere, but can get some confidence and experience and hopefully they can move to a hire paying job. Everyone has got to start somewhere.
Suggestion: Instead of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; IOC: Invitation (to righteousness), Opportunity (for salvation), and Call (to enter into the Savior’s fold).

I really like what you are saying, and I agree, the wokeness is slowly dying and we are realizing that certain individuals pushed their agendas, and forced people to abide by their falsehoods and wicked ways. There are a lot of people who see them for what its worth, and we have the Gospel of Jesus Christ to guide us in our decisions and we can discern what the truth is. I am not the best at reading, and I prefer to listen to the scriptures on the Gospel Library app or the Book of Mormon app. I also like to listen to the scriptures on the Church's website in the Gospel Library section. I feel like God has provided us with these tools to use for how we learn best. We need to put our trust in God and not in the arm of flesh. I know that the Family Proclamation is something that we need to abide by. It is modern-day scripture given by a modern-day prophet, President Hinckley was inspired when he presented that document to the World.
President Palmer, there a few LDS UA-camrs who sincerely believe that the 2nd Coming is going to take place within the next 7-10 years. I did reach out to one of these people to remind them that even the Angels in Heaven do not know when this will happen. I would love for you to do a video on this topic.

Just to clarify, as I think you might not know how this will be taken. But when you say bullying, I think you are referring to the kindest 1% of bullying. I don’t know if you fully understand the level of bullying people experience. It’s more insane than i ever expected the more I learn. But the things you mentioned by example is more like just calling out bad or strange behavior. That would be like the nicest 1% of bullies. I do not think you would, correct me if I’m wrong, condone harassing someone who has Down syndrome, or beating a toothpick kid to a pulp daily, or burning the backpack of a kid because they play chess. But rather just make occasional off the cuff true statements like “that’s weird that you as a boy want to be a girl, that’s unnatural and is wrong and weird”. That would probably make sense to be helpful to an extent. But what I do is imagine, what if Christ were a high schooler today. What would he say to all sorts of different individuals, and that’s probably how we should act. He would probably kindly call our immoral behavior, but not harass and attack nerdy or mentally restarted people, etc.

I believe Christ when He told Ezekiel in chapter 3 the consequences of not warning the people when he sees the enemy coming. Then He also warns the people what will happen if they don’t listen. I appreciate your efforts in being a watchman on the wall. I’ve been doing it since I worked with Phyllis Schafly as a young mother of 5. It’s not an easy task and I too get frustrated but am always studying in preparation of open discussion and persuasion as my patriarchal blessing informed me I was to do some 50 years ago. When you say, almost at the end, that organic food is difficult to find. I have heard that it can be called organic if they use the sludge from the sewer treatment plants. Which is human waste with any medications that people have taken still present. Look it up do a presentation on it That would be eye-opening for everybody.
It’s not truly organic unless you’ve raised it yourself. You know the soil that you’ve planted it in you know the everything that’s gone into that plant and that food coming off there. Do some research Scott and Susan and tell the world.

My view on immigration has changed a lot. Of course we need to vet those coming into the country, but my views have been molded by 2 Nephi 1 & Joseph Smith’s campaign platform.
What I see is that God leads people here and if bad people are coming that is an indictment on our national morality.
