- SCP-610 is a Keter Class anomaly also known as The Flesh That Hates.
SCP-610 appears to be a contagious skin disease at first with symptoms including rash, itching, and increased skin sensitivity. Within 3 hours SCP 610 will cause blemishes resembling heavy scar tissue to form in the chest and arm areas, spreading to the legs and back within an additional hour, consuming the victim completely within five hours.
Initial reports of SCP610 came direct from the Russian government through undisclosable channels. These reports consisted primarily of disappearances of farmers in the region and were not considered until the local police, followed by the regional police, and finally a government dispatched agent all failed to report in within a 72 hour period.

I like to imagine that _this_ is what SCP-049 is so concerned about, but he can't tell the difference between uninfected flesh and infected flesh, so he experiments on both in hopes he picked the correct one.

I think they would be immune but be able to spread faster since the infected are more infectious in heat

An outstanding summary of an SCP article just as always, but you've missed a very interesting part where a giant humanoid thing emerges from under the ground (the one that has caused the earthquakes to happen) and is presumed to be either some sort of a "Hive Leader" made out of the other infected flesh, or even a source of the disease, some kind of an ancient god or creature...

Edit: the 2 main responses I’ve gotten are that it wouldn’t kill the ones underground and that civilians would notice. Sure, it might not kill the ones underground, but it would still greatly reduce the amount of 610 instances, which would allow the front line to move up and for attempts to kill the ones underground to begin. As for civilians noticing, the Big Bang of Siberia was a huge explosion in the Siberian countryside in real life. No one knows what caused it, but it had more force than some nuclear weaponry. If humanity has mostly ignored that it’ll ignore a much smaller attack like napalm.
Won't the public question the Russian government for noticing a bomb exploded on Russian soil? And conspiracy theorists would immediately predict it as WW3'
