- SCP-354 is a Keter Class anomaly also known as The Red Pool.
SCP 354 is a pool of red liquid discovered in northern Canada. The liquid is of a consistency similar to that of human blood but is not of a biological nature. The pool does not have definite banks; soil mixes with the liquid until, at a certain point, there is more soil than liquid and the ground is mostly solid. The liquid becomes denser as one descends deeper into the pool; if the pool has a bottom, it has yet to be reached.
Periodically, entities emerge from the pool and attempt to escape from the enclosure. Thus far, nearly all creatures emerging from SCP354 have been extremely hostile and highly dangerous.

There are a few red lakes in the world, as a result of high concentrations of saline. It's not that abnormal.
@@loglog7 Just to clarify your comment for others - it's not the salinity that directly makes the lakes red, but rather indirectly by causing a salt-loving algae to bloom in large numbers, which is the actual thing that causes the red color. Not to be pedantic, we just gotta be careful - less we want a bunch of new age weirdos to go hunting red lakes looking for himalayan pink salt or something lol

Video did not mention; a previous SCP had recently emerged, and done a lot of damage before being put down The human emerged while the security force was still jumpy, and on minimal staff, and a damaged base, so, were taking no chances,.

I wish you would have done the full story on the expedition logs. It gives more details about what happened on the other side of the blood pond before the data is fully corrupted.

if I remember correctly, when the "submarine" emerged on the Earth side of the pool, the scientist inside was dead, and the log was found in the submarine database, saying that they were an expedition sent by the SCP foundation, which haven't send any research team inside the lake.

Very right, all member of exploration had died, with most dying along way and survivor dying on way back, as well as that in our universe, there was never exploration team sent out to lake, not that there was one then all information of it disappeared, personally think it was lake trying to give foundation warning of what may happen if they continue to do what they are doing to it.
Not quite. The document was found in the central Foundation database, with no evidence of any such mission having taken place or even having been considered, and no evidence of the people mentioned even existing.

This right here has to be one of the best scps. I absolutely love how random everything is but how consistent it is at the same time. Disorganized but organized at the same time. So extraordinary and I love the imagery.

No this is by far the most interesting one everything down to the story is just absolutely amazing.
And I love that perfect feeling of them breaking over the wall and seeing just plain black grass and then you never knew what happens after that it's just so extraordinary and you never know what could happen.

There's plenty of forest in Northern Alberta, I grew up there. The farm land next to the highways is flat, but go upto Fort McMurray and you'll see nothing but trees.

The fact that the other side was surrounded by a metal wall could mean that whatever lives there built their own containment of the thing and when the explorers breached the wall, they got executed the same way the "seemingly" normal human was executed when he emerged from the pond.
Also black grass ? makes me think of another SCP.

you forgot the most important part of the expedition, THERE WAS NONE. There wasn't any expedition on record.
Yeah the expedition logs appeared out of the pool with no known existence of any of the crew or ship.
It Seems As If The Pond Can Connect Separate Realities Through The Neutral Hub-World Under Its Surface..
That Also Explains The Normal Human That Swam Out; They Were A Survivor That Dived Into The Pond To Escape Something, Got Lost, And Escaped Into Our Reality Later.
He also left out a lot of the expedition, such as the environmental seemingly changing and one of the scientists being attacked and had "turned".

When I went on my first dive into the SCP archives 5 years ago, I had the strangest nightmares for 5 days in a row.
Being forced to hold the scrutinizing gaze of some eldritch entity at the edge of my comprehension was one of the less weird ones among them. This felt like being a microbe under microscope.
I mostly blame this SCP in particular for them, because this one was the first I read that had so well written imagery.

Perhaps my favourite SCP, I love the Red Pool and its implications on the larger SCP universe. The "additional files" that talk about an exploration team venturing into the pool and into an alternate dimension are so-so, but the concept itself is pretty interesting.
The fact that these come almost 3 times a week is keeping me alive

This is my favorite, it’s symbolic of the chaotic, unpredictable and truly wondrous nature of the imagination. I believe it to be the biggest contributor to my own curiosity of the psyche and the nature of the brain, perspective and fear.

Plot twist: one crash in 1997 actually happened involving Air Canada but in New Brunswick Fredericton International Airport. Involving a CRJ-100ER, and everyone survived.
I like to think this is connected to the indie game Iron Lung and where they landed on at the other side of the pool was a moon with blood oceans
This is 1 of my top 10 I read back in 2012 before the amount of SCPs doubled (I think there were around 2,000 then).
I've read them all but don't know each number by heart, though I do know the numbers of the most popular ones.

I think the joke lost its flavour a few posts back...
But you have to admit that Abel and the Doomslayer have their similarities.
They are powerful warriors set on combat, they wield powerful swords, master all sorts of weapons and sometimes can work with people... although begrudgingly.
Oh and they were contained in sarcophagi which can't hold them for very long; sometimes Abel can break out in hours or minutes or years... same with the Doomslayer. We've only seen one instance of the Doomslayer breaking free... two if you count his offscreen escape in Eternal.
Lastly, they got an affinity with animals. Abel herds livestock, Doomslayer has Daisy...
