+ZorroDood Actually, getting hit by a monster's feet and voluntarily tumbling also grants you i-frames even though this is more tricky than just rolling through an attack.
the timing is actually pretty easy: you have to think of his body chevks in 3 parts: announcing - pause - execute... when he does a body check he announces it (i guess you know the animation) and then pauses in that position very shortly before he executes the chevk... this tiny pause is when you have to roll... i hope thisll help you :)

Valosar Aria You can't dodge roll in WoW but that doesn't mean it isn't skill based. People spend years and years on that game mastering their rotations in PvE, or the strategies in PvP. That's why it's a such a big deal to get world firsts in raids, it takes months of dedication, planning, and skill.

A classic vid, though I'm not sure why you said 2/30ths of a second. A normal dodge in monhun games has 6 frames of invulnerability, so 6/30ths, or 0.2 seconds, since they all run at 30 frames per second. The timing with evasion +1 is 10 frames, and with +2 it's 12. This only applies for games pre-world, before the change in skills. For reference, a normal roll in Dark Souls 1 has 13 s (@30fps), which is a little less than half a second and is comparatively quite generous. Hope this helps anyone playing old monhun in 2022+
To be fair the s in FU FELT like 2/30th of a second, but that was due to how big the hitboxes were. Every game post FU has dodges that feel longer (with more s) but that was simply because the hitboxes got smaller. In FU is hard to evade even a simple tailspin while in 3/4/Gen I can do it quite consistently.
Wow, thank you so much for this video and I love the music. I decided to solo MH3U on HBG/LBG because my friends really needed ranged support and your gamefaqs guide along with these videos are amazing and have helped me become a much better player than if I had just gone in blind.
I see what this is about. Well, not just about timing, but also about MASSIVE experience. You have to know every single move of the monster you are currently facing to be as good as you are. Not much of a tutorial here, but still a good example of what practice can make you.
I managed to Iframe a Apex Jho breath attack without any Evasion skills once. It was luck, but it opened my eyes to the whole world of Iframing attacks. I definitely want to master it, now.
Slime weapons really are very powerful. They have excellent raw and sharpness for when you can make them, plus free explosions periodically. If the Brachy weapons had -30% affinity or something they'd be OK, but now there's really little incentive to make other weapons, especially on the faster hitting classes. Try 'em out though, what's fun for me will be different for what's fun for you.
