It was lovely to collaborate, and great to see it all polished together in the video! I'm probably going to make a behind-the-scenes video about creating the models and sound effects, as well as sharing the music. And I'm definitely downloading that project repository, gotta play with this some more!
@@mixandjam Wow. This is really amazing! Anyway, here's a suggestion: recreate a hat in time's movement plz! I want to check out the prototype, for learning purposes.

Attention all pikmin fans: this is your call to arms. A unity basic engine has been made. Those of us with no game design experience now have a way in. This is incredibly well-designed, and I definitely encourage you to proceed with it! However, it's wonderful that you've made it open source, so now if you just don't want to keep working on it, others can. Really respectable, and lovely work! Good job to Scruffy too!
Oh my god, when I first saw this channel I had this idea in the back of my mind but I thought "nah, it'd be way too complex". I love Pikmin so much and this is an amazing recreation! Keep it up!
Literally just found Scruffy's channel; yesterday and he shows up here. Also just started making a game where this might be relevant a few days ago and then this gets posted. This is super useful!
I Have Been a Fan Of Pikmin for 9 Years and Seeing this Amazing Video that Just Like Pikmin Good Job Mix and Jam and Congratulations on 100K Subscribers!!
I'm actually surprised that no game developer tried to make their own pikmin-esque game yet. (especially one with dungeons like in Pikmin 2) Did nintendo like copyright the idea of pikming? Can't somebody create a game where you create minions/robots by letting them bring resources to a factory to get more of them?
God damn it, this is amazing. I'm just a beginner in Unity, but your videos are so helpful to understand the logic behind certain game mechanics, and that's perfect
I’ve had a few of Scruffys vids just play as background noise while doing other stuff, and I know that Scruffy Pikmin voice, it’s great hearing it used in a game
I tried to recreate Pikmin at a game jam in February and did ok. You absolutely crushed it, however, and idk how I can continue without taking some advice. Bravo! Also it is based that you collabed with Scruffy. Making mother's day feel like Christmas!
Honestly? I just love this and would love to see a longer, playable version of this. I know that's not what you do, but also... You know, I can dream, right?
Despite how well you did, you can see where pikmin has done better. Like; - the pikmin carrying are touching the object - functionless animations to give pikmin more life - auto-following for things like getting close or if you're near by after turning in a object
Sometime you should do a video on recreating Mario's jumping and movement in his 3D games. I find recreating even basic 3D platformer movement to be extremely difficult, since everything has to be so precise. Know of a good place I can go to figure it out?
Man, if there's anything I'd love you to recreate, it would be The Battle System from Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door, that game had an interactive crowd and sometimes players would battle off-stage. This was awesome; I love Pikmin!
This is so cool, I would live to see plucking pikmin out of the grounds, the onions, and enemies, but that's what would be cool and make this more pikmin like
I really love your videos. They get me so motivated to boot Unity up and recreate something myself. Thank you really much for this awesome content! And as I'm quite new to Unity is helps a lot with learning and understanding Unitys features.
good job man, I know stuff like this can take forever so its really cool how you make these vids quickly, and you give them for FREE! anyways, hope you are well and surviving alright!!
I would really like to see an experimentation on color rush or dancing road. These games have always gotten me wondering how it's possible to generate a curved path
I'd love to see a version of one of the Rhythm Heaven minigames, perhaps Spaceball or Karate Man. Don't know how feasible it'd be to do that in unity, whether it'd be better to use cell-based animation like the games or 3d models or whatever. This is super cool! You and Scruffy did a great job
As a Pikmin modder, it was interesting seeing how people would go about recreating the game in a completely new engine. Did you know that in the actual games, pathfinding for carrying objects is determined by a set of connected coordinate points known as "routes"? It may have already been obvious because of the quirks with the napsack, but I still think it's pretty neat.
Wow. This is really amazing! Anyway, here's a suggestion: recreate a hat in time's movement plz! I want to check out the prototype, for learning purposes.
I would love to see how to implement a similar rpg battle system to the mario and luigi/paper mario series, where the attacks are stronger if you press a button at the right time. Thanks for your hard work, love the channel!
I am new to Unity and wanted to try out some of your projects, but i dont know what to do after downloading. Looking for a tutorial on Google and UA-cam Aren' helpfull either. Would be awesome if somene could help me.

In the spirit of this channel, do you think you may try mixing two of these incredible recreations and making a short experience out of it? For example, a small Pikmin challenge where you can also merge into walls. Might be interesting!
Pikmin is a game where you command an army of these tiny creatures that help you on your journey by carrying objects back to your ship and fighting a variety of dangerous enemies.
